Naruto: I Draw Power Into Reality

Chapter 73: Chapter 73: The Tragic Tears of a Bad Luck Guy

Creating a banner seemed like a simple promotional tactic to Akaba, but the next day, as he stood beneath one hanging on the street, he read the words:

"Manga has been updated! Customers who are interested can come and purchase!"

Huh...?

Akaba stood there confused for a long time.

They had literally copied his exact words, not changing a single character.

That's seriously how it is!

Frowning, he walked toward the manga shop, only to freeze in shock—the store was packed with people.

"What a terrible slogan."

After a moment of silence, Akaba muttered, feeling deeply insulted.

He could only conclude that this world simply didn't have enough advertisements.

Sighing slightly, he stepped outside to observe carefully.

"Hey, is that…?"

A fluctuation of chakra caught his attention.

Looking over, he noticed it came from a boy in a white robe, quietly standing apart from the crowd, looking somewhat out of place.

One of the Hyuga?

His expression changed instantly, and he quickly approached. Before he could even tap the boy on the shoulder, the young boy turned around first.

"Hey hey hey, are you going to cheat and grab the poster early?"

Akaba said helplessly.

He'd forgotten how many ways there were to cheat in the ninja world.

The Hyuga boy looked slightly ashamed, but after a short pause, muttered lowly, "You didn't say *I* couldn't."

"Well I'm saying it now—you can't."

As Akaba spoke, he walked to the entrance and picked up a brush, writing several characters at the end, adding a final line: *"All rights reserved. Subject to change at the shop's discretion."*

The Hyuga boy drooped his head unhappily, muttering complaints under his breath.

Still relying only on memory, he picked up a manga volume.

"No jutsu? My luck's always been great—I don't need any fancy moves to get a manga with a poster."

At that moment, he heard someone speak.

"Tsunade, give it up already! From childhood till now, when have you ever won anything through luck?"

Tsunade and Jiraiya.

Akaba turned and saw Jiraiya being sent flying across the street.

"I did win twice."

Tsunade sighed quietly, shook her head slightly, and entered the manga shop.

"Tsunade, I think…"

Akaba felt uneasy.

This was also a matter of luck—what if Tsunade actually won?!

"Hmph, you also think I can't get it either, right?"

For a ninja, if you observe carefully, those with good eyesight can easily notice small differences in thickness.

But Tsunade didn't even look, randomly grabbing one offhandedly.

This was pure luck.

Akaba felt nervous—what if she really got it?!

"Alright then, it's been a while since my last gamble—I'm sure I'll have good luck this time!"

Full of energy, Tsunade carefully flipped through each page one by one.

"Why not just flip quickly?"

Jiraiya returned tiredly and grabbed a random copy as well.

"You wouldn't understand the feeling of gambling."

Tsunade's eyes sparkled like an ardent gambler, flipping each page as solemnly as drawing a lucky card.

In the end, not a single poster inside.

Akaba let out a long sigh of relief.

A close call!

"Hahaha, your luck—just as expected, you didn't win anything!"

"Wow, my luck is amazing today!" Jiraiya laughed as he picked up a book from beside Tsunade and flipped through it. A poster page slipped out from the book.

Puff!

After receiving a punch, Jiraiya sighed while Tsunade angrily tossed another 100 gold pieces onto the counter. Even Jiraiya had better luck than her – that's totally unfair!

She picked up another book from the shelf, yet still no luck.

"Forget it, Tsunade," Akaba suggested gently.

During the first volume promotion, if Danzo hadn't refused the reward, she wouldn't have received anything either. Her terrible luck was truly one-of-a-kind.

"No way! I'm buying more!"

This girl seriously didn't get how bad her luck was.

After buying ten in a row and not finding what she was hoping for,

"Jiraiya, for your own safety, I'd advise you to stop laughing."

Akaba whispered to Jiraiya while restraining himself with difficulty. Adding fuel to the fire was never wise, especially when dealing with a gambler who had already lost her temper.

Jiraiya originally wanted to provoke her further, but suddenly felt pain in his ribs,

"Tsunade, having bad luck isn't your fault. Maybe next time..."

WHAM!

Another punch landed. Tsunade collected the ten manga books and stormed off angrily.

These eleven should be just enough. Buying even one more would mean it'd go to waste, especially considering this purchase had cost half her savings.

"I was genuinely trying to comfort you!"

Jiraiya shouted while holding his head in anger.

"When a lucky person tries to comfort someone who's always unlucky, all the unlucky one hears is mockery."

Akaba replied with sympathy. In his past life, he'd been notoriously unlucky too, which is why he completely understood Tsunade's frustration.

Though Jiraiya didn't understand the term "unlucky person," he could guess it probably meant "someone with poor fortune."

"Hmph!"

He sat down on a chair at the entrance and started reading by himself.

Not long after,

"I suspect you're insulting Sakumo's chakra reserves. After just a few techniques, he's already running out of chakra?"

Jiraiya commented sarcastically.

"That's impossible. Sakumo doesn't have that little chakra." Akaba casually countered.

"Headman's Granddaughter is so pretty and cute!"

"Woah, this big sister is even prettier! Akaba, Akaba, what's her name?"

Jiraiya became excited again.

"If you keep reading, won't you find out?" Akaba shrugged.

"Hey Akaba, I've noticed you're actually really good at drawing girls. If you..."

"Forget it! There's no way I'd draw something as stupid as that!" Akaba interrupted.

Without needing him to finish speaking, Akaba already knew exactly what this idiot meant. He considered himself lucky Jiraiya was such a clueless guy, otherwise anyone normal would've already figured out who drew those pages.

Jiraiya concentrated on reading while comparing details as he went.

After quite some time, he finished reading the entire story.

"Aaaaagh! I'm in love with this girl! Though I hate that she belongs to Zabuza, I still think she's super adorable!"

Akaba felt like something new had just unlocked inside Jiraiya.

Originally planning to tell him about Haku, he changed his mind upon remembering that in Kishimoto's original drawings, Haku was actually male.

It'd only take a small change, but watching those dreams fall apart would definitely be fun.

Sitting down, Jiraiya enthusiastically took out his sketchpad and began drawing.

"Hey! Don't draw disrespectful things right in front of my shop!"

Akaba's expression darkened.

Yet at that moment, Jiraiya had become just like Tsunade when she fell into gambling—utterly unreasonable and impossible to talk sense into.

He moved his brush swiftly, sketching rapidly. Within seconds, crude outlines began to take shape on the paper.

"Don't interrupt me! Inspiration is pouring out—I'm electrified!"

Excited, Jiraiya kept his brush unexpectedly steady, drawing one graceful line after another.

Judging purely by technique, he'd improved remarkably fast.

But the image was slowly leaning toward something inappropriately suggestive.

By now, a small crowd had gathered—people who had come out of the shop.

As Akaba was about to step in, he suddenly heard a familiar cough.

"Jiraiya, there should be limits even when you fool around."

The Third?

Of all times, why now again?

Akaba shot Hiruzen Sarutobi a suspicious glance. You wouldn't have interrupted if there weren't so many people around, would you?
