Chapter 25: Chapter 25 – Level 3
Chapter 25 – Level 3
Leisurely days always passed too quickly.
In the blink of an eye, the entire morning was gone.
After lunch, the three went their separate ways.
Seimei wasted no time. He returned home straightaway and immediately began cultivating without pause.
Due to the C-rank mission outside the village half a month ago, his training had been delayed. His Chakra Refining Technique, which should have ranked up days earlier, was still stuck at Lv2 (495/500).
Fortunately, it was almost there.
At his current pace, he would likely break through before nightfall.
With that in mind, Seimei closed his eyes and entered a meditative state.
Time ticked by, second by second.
Before long, hours had passed.
The sun was already tilting westward.
Inside the room—
Seimei suddenly opened his eyes as a sense of clarity surfaced in his mind.
After a long moment, he muttered to himself, "Finally hit Level 3, huh?"
Then he shut his eyes once more and resumed refining chakra.
An hour later—
Seimei opened his eyes again and called out, "Panel."
A familiar pale-blue interface appeared instantly:
[Name: Uchiha Seimei]
[Age: 10]
[Physique: 6]
[Spirit: 7]
[Chakra: 1650 (2510)]
[Bloodline: Sharingan · Not Awakened (81/100) → (85/100)]
[Skills:]
Chakra Refining Technique: Lv3 (1/1000) → Lv3 (2/1000)
Clone Technique: Lv2 (270/500) → Lv2 (430/500)
Transformation Technique: Lv2 (260/500) → Lv2 (420/500)
Substitution Technique: Lv2 (250/500) → Lv2 (410/500)
Fire Release · Great Fireball Technique: Lv1 (30/200) → Lv1 (50/200)
Reflection Technique: Lv2 (110/500) → Lv2 (260/500)
Basic Taijutsu: Lv2 (280/500) → Lv2 (450/500)
Ninja Tool Throwing: Lv3 (1/1000)
Chakra Control: Lv3 (78/1000)
Just as he had realized moments ago, the Chakra Refining Technique had become stronger at Level 3.
His chakra recovery rate had increased from 200 points per hour to 400, and the chakra capacity gained per hour of refinement had supposedly doubled from 4 points to 8.
"Supposedly" being the key word—because ever since his chakra cap hit 2500 a week ago, it hadn't really moved.
The last ten points had been gained slowly over time on their own.
So Seimei's estimate—that each hour of Lv3 refining increased his chakra cap by 8—was still theoretical.
Still, he had a strong intuitive sense that the number was correct.
Unfortunately, that didn't change much.
His potential had been exhausted a week ago. Without a breakthrough in talent, any further chakra growth would be agonizingly slow.
This wasn't something that could be solved just by upgrading the Refining Technique—they were on completely different levels.
In other words, for Seimei, the only remaining value of the Chakra Refining Technique was quick recovery.
Of course, he could still grind its proficiency.
If he could raise it to a higher level, then once his Sharingan awakened and unlocked new potential, he'd be able to convert that potential more efficiently.
Still, Seimei doubted he'd even need to wait that long.
Not because there wasn't enough time—but because he expected his Sharingan to awaken before the technique reached the next level.
After all, going from Lv3 to Lv4 required a full 1000 points of proficiency.
Given his current rate of one point per hour, that meant 1000 hours of training.
With his physical limits, even with optimal nutrition, he could only maintain about 8 hours of training per day.
1000 divided by 8 = 125.
That's 125 days—four full months.
By then, surely, his Sharingan would have awakened.
Even though the last half-month had only seen his Sharingan's awakening progress increase by four points, from (81/100) to (85/100)—
Which didn't quite match the 150 points gained in Reflection Technique proficiency—
The fact remained: he had still moved one step closer.
Moreover—
Now that his Chakra Refining Technique had reached Level 3, Seimei's daily usable chakra had increased as well.
Previously, it hovered around 2400 to 2500 points. Now, it was closer to 3500.
If he used 3000 of those points to practice the Reflection Technique—
And paired it with the 15% chakra reduction granted by Level 3 Chakra Control—he could increase the Reflection Technique's proficiency by 17 to 18 points per day.
This would undoubtedly speed up the awakening of his Sharingan.
That was why Seimei was confident he would awaken the Sharingan in less than four months.
In fact, four months might be a serious overestimation.
Why? Because at this rate, it wouldn't even take two weeks for him to raise the Reflection Technique to Level 3—and once it ranked up, its effect would definitely strengthen significantly.
With that, his Sharingan awakening would accelerate far beyond expectations.
Suppressing the growing excitement in his chest, Seimei turned his gaze away from the Sharingan progress and focused on the other skills.
Though these weren't his primary focus, the training he squeezed in had yielded decent results—take the three basic E-rank techniques, for instance.
All of them had surpassed Lv2 (400/500).
If things were as he suspected, and Level 3 was the max for these foundational techniques, then he was nearly there.
By then, he might even be able to pick up a new ninjutsu.
As for what to learn—
Seimei already had something in mind.
He didn't need another offensive technique for now. Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique was enough, and with the future aid of the Sharingan, he wouldn't be lacking in attack options.
But in terms of defense—
There weren't many proper defensive jutsu in the shinobi world. So the best alternative was increasing his ability to flee.
That brought the Body Flicker Technique into focus.
In the shinobi world, Body Flicker Techniques generally fell into three categories:
First were ninjutsu-based techniques, such as Gaara's Sand Flicker, Zabuza's Mist Flicker, Hanzo's Water Flicker, and the most common of all— the standard D-rank Body Flicker Technique. These worked via various chakra-based effects.
Second were physical techniques, relying purely on muscle strength to move at blinding speed.
The most well-known users of this style were Might Guy and the Fourth Raikage.
And third—
Were space-time-based techniques, like the Flying Thunder God, which achieved true instantaneous movement through teleportation.
Compared to the first two—which were, strictly speaking, just speed boosts—the last category more accurately embodied the concept of "flicker."
However, Seimei wasn't targeting the Flying Thunder God Technique.
It wasn't that he didn't want it, or doubted he could learn it.
With the proficiency system, as long as there were no special prerequisites, he could brute-force his way through any ninjutsu over time.
The Flying Thunder God Technique fell under that category.
So in theory, if he could just get his hands on the method, he could learn it.
But that was the problem—he couldn't get it.
If it were a clan jutsu, he might have a way, but the Flying Thunder God was an S-rank technique recorded in the village's Forbidden Scroll.
A mere genin like him had no chance of obtaining it.
He wasn't Naruto—no one was laying down paths for him.
So, what he planned to learn instead was the widely circulated D-rank Body Flicker Technique.
It being common didn't mean it was weak. In fact, its popularity proved its versatility—just like the Shadow Clone Technique, it had an excellent cost-to-effect ratio.
Perfect for use as a transitional tool.
Once his strength grew, his choices would expand.
After a bit of thought, Seimei turned his attention to Basic Taijutsu and Ninja Tool Throwing.
The former was already at Lv2 (450/500)—it wouldn't be long before it ranked up. The latter had already reached Lv3.
Unfortunately, since reaching Lv3 (1/1000), its proficiency had barely moved.
Seimei had expected this.
Without the Sharingan, the ceiling for Ninja Tool Throwing was right there.
"It all comes back to the Sharingan…"
With a sigh, Seimei closed the panel and resumed grinding proficiency for the Reflection Technique.
