Chinya returned to the Hidden Leaf's base and reported to Orochimaru.

Chinya pulled out a scroll containing the sealed tentacle of the Eight-Tails and handed it to Orochimaru. "Sensei Orochimaru, this is part of the Eight-Tails' body—I think you'll find it very interesting."

Chinya coldly responded, "Tell Uchiha Masaki this: Either he crawls over here to see me himself, or he's still not worthy enough to summon me to the Uchiha Estate."

"Alright, that's all I have to say," Chinya said, then simply walked past the Uchiha ninja and left.

The Uchiha ninja's face paled with rage.

But things are different now; Chinya had awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan and already surpassed all other Uchiha ninjas.

Even Uchiha Masaki, the clan leader, hadn't unlocked the Mangekyō Sharingan.

Chinya returned home, but Kushina Uzumaki wasn't there.

He left a note and then made his way to the Root.

However, just as Chinya stepped out of his house, a ninja wearing a Root Mask appeared before him.

"Lord Chinya, Danzo requests your presence."

Chinya nodded slightly. "Alright, take me to him."

Following the Root ninja, Chinya arrived at the Root Base.

Inside the dimly lit Root Base, the atmosphere was extremely oppressive. The ninjas seen here were all expressionless, appearing emotionless.

Following the Root ninja, Chinya reached an office.

Inside the office sat Danzo.

Chinya bowed slightly. "Lord Danzo."

Danzo, whose face was naturally stern, curled the corner of his mouth into a slight arc. "Chinya, you're quite impressive."

Chinya assumed Danzo was referring to his battle against A and Killer Bee.

He replied formally: "It's all thanks to Konoha's cultivation."

Actually, Danzo indeed spoke truthfully, but he meant Chinya's attitude when confronting the Uchiha ninja earlier.

Without beating around the bush, Danzo asked directly, "Chinya, do you hate the Uchiha?"

Chinya's eyes flickered slightly.

He didn't expect Danzo to ask so directly without any preamble.

"I consider personal grievances insignificant compared to Konoha's greater interests," Chinya replied.

Danzo chuckled — but to Chinya, it sounded more like a cold sneer.

Then he asked again, "What if even Konoha's greater interests can no longer tolerate the Uchiha?"

Chinya calmly responded, "I will do whatever Konoha requires of me."

"It seems like it. You must have realized Konoha would eventually target the Uchiha clan, and probably guessed we would approach you too."

Chinya looked surprised.

Danzo explained, "Because you acted too calm. When hearing about Konoha moving against the Uchiha, you showed absolutely no reaction, as if it were perfectly natural."

Chinya narrowed his eyes slightly—this sly old fox Danzo really was sharp.

Chinya paused before admitting, "Lord Danzo, I indeed suspected Konoha might eventually act against the Uchiha. After all, the Uchiha are like a cancer spreading through every part of Konoha. It's not hard to foresee that if the Uchiha Clan continues down this path, Konoha will eventually act against them.

However, I didn't anticipate that you personally would come after me. I merely knew from my teacher Orochimaru that the transfer order originated from you, which is why I wasn't surprised."

Danzo twitched his lips slightly before saying, "Well then, let's assume you truly hadn't guessed that part. Then I'll be straightforward. Lord Hiruzen and I have a task for you—one concerning the Uchiha Clan."

Gazing intently at Chinya, Danzo solemnly stated, "Since you're playing dumb, I'll just say it outright then. I want to recruit you into the Root Division. So tell me, what's your choice?"
