Chapter 14: Mikoto's Birthday Is Next Week!?
"Grandma Mito, you can teach Kushina. I'll rest for a bit," Yoruichi said casually, leaping onto a tree branch nearby.
Mito Uzumaki frowned. "Yoruichi, you can't be so arrogant and complacent! There's always more to learn."
"Alright, Grandma Mito. I'll just watch from here," Yoruichi replied lazily.
Kushina puffed out her cheeks. "I don't believe it! There's no way he can learn by just watching."
Mito glanced at Yoruichi, her expression firm. She decided it was time to teach him a lesson. Pride and laziness would lead nowhere, and Kushina wasn't lacking in talent either. Let her outshine him for once.
With that, Mito turned her focus to Kushina, explaining the intricacies of the sealing technique. Meanwhile, Yoruichi leaned back, a smirk on his face, scanning the details of the techniques in his mind: the Four Symbols Seal and the Reaper Death Seal. Both powerful tools in the right hands.
He thought of the Third Hokage using the Reaper Death Seal against Orochimaru, sacrificing himself to seal his enemy's arms. And Minato using the same seal to divide Kurama's chakra during the Nine-Tails attack. Now, these techniques were his. His fusion with Hashirama Senju's abilities was growing stronger, and with his current level, even sealing a tailed beast seemed possible.
Yoruichi smirked to himself. Let's see how far I can push this power.
---
Days passed quietly in the Uzumaki compound. Mito had warned Yoruichi not to wander around the village, as tensions were running high. But just as he settled into his routine, a voice called from the gate.
"Lady Mito, someone is here to see Kushina."
Kushina looked up from her training. "Who is it?"
"It's Mikoto Uchiha," the voice replied.
Mito smiled softly. "Ah, it's Mikoto. Bring her in."
"Kushina, take a break. The Four Symbols Seal isn't easy—don't rush it."
Kushina nodded, wiping sweat from her forehead. As Mito stepped away to give the girls some privacy, Mikoto entered the courtyard. The moment the two friends saw each other, they squealed and hugged tightly, laughing like only close friends could.
After a moment, Mikoto glanced around. "Where's Yoruichi? I heard he's staying here."
Kushina tilted her head toward a tree. "Right behind you."
"Behind me?" Mikoto turned, spotting Yoruichi perched casually on a branch.
"What are you doing up there?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Resting," Yoruichi replied simply, smirking.
Mikoto rolled her eyes. "Weirdo." She turned back to Kushina and whispered something. Yoruichi's enhanced senses easily picked up their conversation, though he made no effort to show it.
"Hey, Kushina, I heard you're going to marry Yoruichi," Mikoto teased, her voice playful.
"What?! No way!" Kushina stammered, her cheeks turning crimson. "Nothing like that is happening."
"Not yet, huh? Geez, it'll happen soon. Let me know when to prepare the wedding gifts," Mikoto teased, grinning.
Kushina shot a nervous glance at Yoruichi, who was still lounging on the branch. She lowered her voice. "He's so cold, though…"
"But seriously handsome," Mikoto whispered back. "You didn't see how he summoned an entire forest during the attack! Those jonin didn't stand a chance."
Kushina crossed her arms. "I was there! I didn't faint or anything. I saw everything!"
Yoruichi nearly chuckled. He remembered clearly that Kushina had been knocked out by genjutsu and spent the entire fight unconscious in his arms. Now, she was blatantly embellishing the story to impress her friend.
People's really do love bragging, he thought, amused.
The girls continued chatting, their voices drifting through the courtyard. Eventually, Mikoto's tone turned serious.
"Kushina, have you heard? The investigation into Danzo and Root is complete. The Third Hokage has already disbanded Root, and Danzo's been stripped of his position. Even the two elders have been put on leave."
Kushina's eyes widened. "Seriously? That's huge!"
Mikoto nodded. "It's about time. The things Root did were unforgivable."
Yoruichi listened silently, his expression thoughtful. The winds of change were blowing through Konoha, and he couldn't help but wonder how these shifts would affect the future. Interesting times are ahead.
###
Yoruichi's ears twitched slightly. He didn't expect Hiruzen Sarutobi to take such drastic action this time—disbanding the Root organization completely? And forcing Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado to retire?
Surprising. The Third Hokage actually had such guts.
But then again, he was only in his fifties now—not the worn-down old man nearing seventy we saw in the anime.
Danzo had tried to target him but ended up isolating himself instead.
Yoruichi knew better, though. Danzo was merely lying low. The "darkness" of Konoha wouldn't crumble that easily.
---
Kushina tilted her head in surprise. "Really?"
Mikoto Uchiha leaned in closer, whispering, "That's what Fugaku told me…"
Kushina grinned mischievously. "Mikoto, are you and Fugaku… you know…"
Mikoto's face flushed. "My parents want it, but... I think it's too soon. Getting married without actually falling in love? Kushina, you're lucky."
Kushina grabbed Mikoto's hand tightly. "Mikoto, you can't force yourself into something you don't want!"
Mikoto sighed. "Kushina, it's not that simple. Fugaku's set to be the next clan head… Anyway, my birthday's tomorrow. Will you come?"
Kushina beamed. "Of course, Mikoto! I wouldn't miss it. Right, Yoruichi?"
---
[Ding! Based on the host's current situation, a choice is presented!]
[Option 1: Decline Mikoto's invitation and relax at home. Reward: The first edition of "Make-Out Paradise."]
[Option 2: Accept Mikoto's invitation and attend her birthday party with Kushina. Reward: Forbidden Technique—Harem Jutsu.]
Yoruichi groaned inwardly. Harem Jutsu? Was the system messing with him?
Still, the choice wasn't that hard.
---
"Of course, Mikoto! We'll be there on time," Kushina declared, pulling Yoruichi by the arm.
Yoruichi had chosen the jutsu over some cheesy book. He didn't regret it.
[Ding! Congratulations, host! You have acquired the Forbidden Technique—Harem Jutsu.]
---
The knowledge of the Harem Jutsu flooded Yoruichi's mind. It wasn't just a prank.
It was a combo technique—Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu combined with the Transformation Jutsu. The realism of the transformations relied heavily on the caster's imagination.
Young Naruto, despite being the dead-last in the academy, had used this technique to overwhelm opponents—including Kaguya Otsutsuki herself.
For him to pull that off… Naruto must've been quite "creative."
Yoruichi shook his head, feeling the absurdity. Did I really need this jutsu?
---
Not long after Mikoto left, Kushina dragged Yoruichi along to tell Uzumaki Mito about the birthday party plans.
Yoruichi already felt something was off.
Kushina, being her usual straightforward self, hadn't thought it through. She'd casually accepted the invitation.
The Uchiha clan inviting members of the Uzumaki family—and Yoruichi, the last remaining heir of the Senju—into their territory?
This would definitely stir up rumors.
Would people think the Senju and Uchiha clans were forming an alliance?
The political implications alone could drive the other clans crazy.
---
When Uzumaki Mito heard about the invitation, she didn't seem surprised. She simply nodded.
"Go, Yoruichi. I'm not comfortable letting Kushina go alone."
"Yes, Grandma Mito," Yoruichi said.
To his surprise, she didn't argue or question the decision.
---
Uzumaki Mito's mind worked quickly. She remembered how the Senju clan had deliberately distanced themselves from the Uchiha to avoid conflict in the past.
But all that had achieved was the slow decline of the Senju.
The remaining male members had been wiped out by wars and conspiracies.
Now, watching Yoruichi handle himself so well—even against Danzo's ambush—Mito realized it was time to stop holding back.
The other clans feared Uchiha, but they feared the Senju just as much.
Instead of retreating further, why not reestablish their strength?
---
Mito's expression softened as she gave her final instruction. "Go early. Come back early."
Yoruichi nodded.
Tomorrow would undoubtedly be an eventful day.
