Chapter 29: Chapter 29 Asuma
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Clang!
In the forest, Shuriken and Kunai clashed.
Poof! Poof!
Several figures tangled together, two of them Asuma and Chiriku.
"I say, are these enemies you brought?" Asuma asked Chiriku behind him, using his blade to deflect a Shuriken attack.
Clang! Clang!
A continuous stream of attacks from outside kept them overwhelmed.
Chiriku's Chakra transformed into a Thousand-Armed Bodhisattva, blocking each successive attack: "I aapologise I forgot to mention, as a monk from the Fire Temple sent to the Capital as a Guardian Twelve Ninja, I will be targeted by various forces.
"Whether they want to intercept and kill me, replace my identity to assassinate the Daimyo, or have other schemes, in short, this journey won't be too smooth."
Fire Release: Ash Pile Burning.
Facing the enemy's assault, Asuma formed hand signs and exhaled a large cloud of ash, covering the sky and earth as it attacked the enemies.
Several Ninjas from unknown factions paled with terror at this attack, their eyes filled with dread.
Bang!
After the ash smoke came an explosion.
Ah~
The screams of several people caused the other attacking Ninja to pause slightly, and seizing this opportunity, Asuma used all his skills, along with Chiriku, to deal with the remaining enemies.
"It seems being a Guardian Twelve Ninja isn't easy!" Asuma wiped away cold sweat.
"Thank you, you've gone to a lot of trouble."
Chiriku said with a smile.
"Who are these guys?" Asuma looked at the corpses on the ground, but after checking them himself, he didn't get any specific information.
Aside from common Ninja tools, there was nothing to identify them.
"Since they dared to assassinate someone from the Fire Temple, they naturally wouldn't leave any evidence; you won't find anything," Chiriku said.
"That's not necessarily true!"
Suddenly.
A voice rang out, and both their expressions instantly became serious, entering a combat stance, while simultaneously looking towards the source of the voice.
Four figures appeared before them, led by a person with bandages wrapped around his face. All four wore Konoha headbands.
Asuma's expression tightened upon seeing this. Is that old man still trying to control him?
"Hey, long time no see. You haven't forgotten me, have you, Asuma?" Satoru waved his hand, smiling.
Hearing this, Asuma finally focused his attention on him. The slender figure, the bandage-wrapped head – he tried hard to recall.
After much effort, he finally found an inconspicuous figure from before his graduation at age nine.
"Satoru?" he asked uncertainly.
Chiriku listened to their conversation from the side. So they were acquaintances. He also breathed a sigh of relief.
Satoru feigned sadness, clutching his chest: "Oh my, we were classmates for three years, and I even gave you a hint, but you're still not sure. That's so heartbreaking."
Then he turned to the three youngsters and said: "Don't be like him at all, not even remembering your comrade's name; that's truly impolite."
The three youngsters, hearing this, didn't dare to be careless. Senior Asuma was still there; wouldn't teasing him like this be bad?
"Hey, why are you here? Did the Third Hokage send you to find me?"
Although Asuma's face was a little red, he still asked the question he cared about.
Satoru: "Hey, hey, that's rude. That's your dad, how can you call him 'old man'?"
After teasing him, he then said seriously: "That's right, Hokage-sama wants us to see what you've been doing outside, and if possible, to come back with us!"
"You want to take me back? Unless you break all my limbs and drag me back."
Asuma took a fighting stance, his full attention on the four, ready to fight at any moment.
Chiriku was very loyal and stood shoulder to shoulder with him.
"Although I don't know what happened, if there's going to be a fight, count me in."
Seeing the two ready to fight, Satoru was helpless.
The three youngsters also looked at him, waiting to see what their Captain would do.
Satoru was speechless upon hearing this, spreading his hands: "Do you see? This is a guy without the Will of Fire, who would even think of attacking a comrade from the Village. You must not learn from him.
This is Hokage-sama's mistake. When you become Captains in the future, you must educate your subordinates well!"
The three youngsters thought seriously, nodding in agreement. As expected of their Captain, athey lways eembodythe Will of Fire.
Asuma frowned deeply.
What does he mean?
Is he saying his old man failed at educating him?
Despite having disagreements with his old man, he wouldn't allow others to speak of him like that.
"Hmph, you're just a Captain, what right do you have to speak of the Hokage?" Asuma snorted coldly, questioning him.
Satoru's mouth twitched: "Just your existence, Asuma, impolite and willful, you gave me the right."
Tch!
These words made Asuma furious.
Young and hot-headed, he didn't care about anything else now; he just wanted to teach this guy in front of him a lesson.
Whoosh!
"You all step aside and watch. Let me, your Captain, give you a combat lesson. Oh, and move those corpses away; they'll be useful later."
Satoru calmly told the three youngsters.
Then he looked at Asuma, who was rushing over.
Clang!
Kunai and blade fingers collided, and the two faced each other in close combat.
"Oh, as expected of the Hokage's son. Your Wind Release nature transformation has reached this level?"
Satoru teased, looking at the Kunai in his hand, slowly being cut by the sharp Chakra.
Konoha Single Rising Dragon.
His right foot shot out in a flash of lightning, and Asuma, alert, strained to lean back, letting Satoru's foot graze his chin.
Konoha Downward Split.
With a second transformation, Asuma interrupted his opponent's attempt to cut his weapon, using both hands to block Satoru's leg.
"Damn it, this guy's Taijutsu is actually this strong."
The more Asuma fought, the more alarmed he became. Every move Satoru made was a common Konoha Taijutsu, but each strike was like a hanging antelope's horn, nowhere to be found.
His proud Taijutsu was completely useless in front of Satoru.
Meanwhile, the three youngsters, after hearing Satoru's instructions, moved the corpses outside the battlefield under Chiriku's bewildered gaze.
Watching the fighting parties, and their Captain, who completely suppressed Senior Asuma with just Taijutsu, the three of them formed 'O' shapes with their mouths.
Chiriku also felt a tightening in his heart; such terrifying Taijutsu.
To suppress the powerful Asuma like this with Taijutsu.
It should be known that from their interactions these past few days, coupled with the occasional enemy assassinations, he highly recognised Asuma's strength.
Especially his Taijutsu.
"Just who is he?"
"Fire Release: Ash Pile Burning."
Seeing that Taijutsu wasn't working, Asuma used a few Shuriken to distract Satoru, then exhaled a plume of smoke.
He was getting anxious.
It was the first time he had been suppressed like this by someone his age.
But Satoru was at ease; he felt exhilarated by the fight, as if his entire body's muscles and bones had opened up.
Facing the Fire Release attack, he also formed hand signs.
Water Release: Water Wall.
He didn't forget to explain to the three youngsters: "Watch closely, when facing a Fire Release attack, Water Release, which counters it, is the best way to retaliate."
Boom!
Asuma's Ash Pile Burning did not affect whatsoever on the Water Wall; Satoru easily blocked it.
Asuma, upon hearing his words, became even more furious, his youthful spirit making his face flush red.
