As for the matter of Anko spotting them? Tsume wasn't very concerned about that. Already troubled, Anko would not bother spreading baseless rumours about a clan head.

They reached the spot, the members of team Kurenai were waiting for Reko and Tsume while recovering their chakra.

'Why is that lady dressed like that ....' Kiba thought as he noticed Anko coming in their direction. He remembered Anko from the Chunin exams as she was their scary proctor.

"Hey Anko!" Kurenai greeted after having spotted Anko. It was a surprise for her to see Anko tag along with Tsume and Reko because the student of Orochimaru preferred to go on solo missions only.

"Hey Kurenai, didn't expect you to come with your whole squad." As Anko came closer to the hideout, she spotted her old friend Kurenai with her Genins.

"Are things that bad?" Anko asked gravely, she had volunteered to patrol the borders and finish enemies of the leaf village, especially the one which were associated with her former master.

Anko was worried that a whole squad specialised in search and tracking was sent to the borders, causing her to feel that the situation was bad.

"It's just suspicions at this point but I am not sure. We are yet to patrol more than 70% of the borders." Kurenai replied to Anko, understanding the troubles of her old friend.

But what she had said was true, the leadership in the village was wary of the enemies and they did not plan to leave the borders unguarded.

"You didn't find anyone? I have been chasing a Jonin for past two days which happened to be dealt with by them. I thought you would have found more." Anko briefed to Kurenai about the Jonin she had been chasing and how the Jonin was dealt with by Reko.

Anko was relieved that there was only one Jonin rather than the worst possibility she had thought of.

'They are friends? It's good that she did not catch us in the act!' Reko glanced at Anko and Kurenai talking with familiarity and thought to himself.

It would have been troublesome for him if Kurenai were to know about his relationship with Tsume. As that would cause his chances to mingle with Kurenai to be lowered.

'Although, she would be a single mother in the future anyways.' Reko thought, recalling the incident of Asuma dying by the member of Akatsuki.

"Since we are all here, let's decide on our next checkpoint and keep up the patrolling." Tsume suggested, they were all on the patrolling mission, so, it would be more effective to divide into groups and keep covering larger distance.

"Haah, it was a really uneventful day!" Reko sighed as he sat against the tree, tired from searching the borders for enemies.

It would not have been this exhausting, but the fact that his vision had vastly improved caused him to focus on every little change in the surrounding.

Also, he had found a Jonin while patrolling earlier which meant that there was possibility of other enemies in hiding. Combined with his mission of coming out without any casuality, it made him search thoroughly.

It was getting dark already and they had finally decided to take rest.

"Uneventful? You killed a Jonin level shinobi by yourself! How could you call that uneventful??" Kiba said to Reko, shocked that someone would call a day like this uneventful.

If he was the one who killed a Jonin then he would have forever remembered this day and boasted to all his friends.

"That was a sneak attack, and that enemy was already injured when I attacked him." Reko clarified to Kiba, while looking at the figure of Anko carelessly leaning against one of the trees.

Although, contrary to his words, he did feel that killing that Jonin was pretty eventful. His stats almost doubled and he got another charge for his kekkei genkai, Steal.

The whole time, he had wanted to try out the kekkei genkai and see how a Jonin level Steal worked but he suppressed his curiosity.

They had been made to search solo, except for the Genins of team Kurenai, this caused him to get no chances of trying out Steal.

Although, it was also true that he would not have wasted it on a normal ninjutsu.

"With your physical strength and shadow clones, you would be qualified to be a Tokubetsu Jonin. You just need experience." Anko commented after hearing Reko talk about the enemy.

She had analysed Reko's strength and it was safe to say that he was only lacking in experience. His strength, chakra reserves, and ninjutsu were already good enough.

Though, he did lack a personalized jutsu in his arsenal, but that would improve with experience.

Reko smiled at Anko's response.

'I would have loved to learn something from her, but she doesn't use Orochimaru's snake like jutsu. The only thing that is of interest to me is that Curse seal.' Reko thought.

He would have liked to pair up with Anko but her strength was in low Jonin level and she willingly chose to not use Orochimaru's ninjutsu.

This made Reko reconsider using Steal on Anko. Though, it would be another case if he could learn curse mark.

As the camps were ready, made by the Genins. Tsume moved to the middle of the camp, gathering attention.

"We will take turns standing guard." Tsume ordered. She had become the unofficial leader of the group.

"I will go first. Reko second, Anko third, and Kurenai last." Tsume announced the order of people that would watch their camp.

'I am second? And those kids are not going to take turns keeping watch.' Reko instantly thought of the incident of Tsume teasing him. The order in which they were going to stand guard would allow him them to continue with where they had left off.

"What about us?" Kiba asked Tsume, he was also strong enough, a Chunin level already.

"You guys take rest! We will be spreading out our search area from tomorrow morning." Tsume gave Kiba a stern look and announced her plan to go extra hard tomorrow morning.

Understanding the implications, Kiba decided to sit down. As the power level of all the shinobi taking turns keeping watch was way above him, and neither Hinata nor Shino wanted to keep watch.
