Naruto: Monthly Refreshing Passive System

Chapter 2: Chapter 2

Perhaps it was fate that Kyomu, upon being assigned to a different class, ended up with notable figures such as Kakashi, Obito, Rin, and Might Guy.

Differing from the attention Kakashi received, the prestige of the Uchiha surname, and Might Guy's goofy nature, Kyomu seemed quite ordinary. Like an average passerby, he lacked any outstanding qualities.

His gaze fixed on the seats in the corner by the wall, Kyomu walked straight towards them.

As soon as he settled into the chair, Kakashi, wearing a face mask and with his white hair, also approached.

Without exchanging words with Kyomu, Kakashi sat beside him.

It seemed that Kakashi also favored this 'auspicious spot.'

However, Kyomu chose this location for the convenience of slacking off, while Kakashi probably picked it to minimize trouble.

He was just too popular among girls.

Not because of Kakashi's identity, but due to the 'domineering' and aloof aura he exuded, a dream for most girls of his age.

Glancing at Kakashi, Kyomu showed no intention of starting a conversation. Resting his hands on the table, he tilted his head, using his arms as a pillow, pretending to nap.

Kakashi, witnessing this behavior, rolled his dead-fish eyes, unsure of what he was thinking.

Once all the freshmen had chosen their seats, become acquainted with their desk mates and surrounding classmates, the ninja teacher finally arrived late.

With a light cough, the lively atmosphere in the classroom immediately cooled. Except for Kyomu and Kakashi, everyone stopped their activities, looking towards the podium.

"Hello, students. Let me introduce myself. I am your ninja teacher for the next six years, Torii Shuzo."

After a brief introduction, Shuzo unfolded the neatly folded list, ready to call names and familiarize himself with the students.

"The students whose names I call next should respond with 'here' and come to the podium for a brief self-introduction."

Torii called out names one by one, and as it came to Kyomu, a small incident occurred.

"Aragami Kyomu."

"Aragami Kyomu?"

"Aragami Kyomu!"

"Here."

Torii called three times in succession, each louder than the last, finally waking up Kyomu from his light slumber.

"Were you daydreaming on the field earlier?" Shuzo Torii seemed somewhat annoyed. "It's the first day of school, and you're already sleeping in class. This attitude is hard to forgive."

"Sorry, Teacher Torii."

Seeing Aragami Kyomu apologize, Shuzo was somewhat surprised. "Weren't you sleeping all the time? How did you know what I..."

"Teacher, although I was sleeping, I was listening attentively. I remember all the self-introductions of my classmates and recognize them."

Shuzo frowned, "Kyomu, do you think saying that is convincing?"

Kyomu didn't elaborate much, raising his hand and pointing to the first student in the front row, efficiently stating his name and repeating the words he used during the self-introduction.

After the first person, Kyomu didn't pause, continuing to introduce the others in order of their seats.

When he introduced the seventh student, Shuzo didn't pay much attention, thinking Kyomu already knew them.

However, as Kyomu continued to introduce the tenth student, Shuzo interrupted him.

"Alright, I believe that even though you were sleeping, you were paying attention to your classmates' self-introductions." Shuzo raised his hand, "Kyomu, it's your turn to come to the podium and introduce yourself."

Nodding, Kyomu bypassed Kakashi, sitting on the outer edge, and walked straight to the podium.

"Hello, classmates. My name is Aragami Kyomu, but you can call me Kyomu. You can also call me 'Aragami,' as the Hokage himself said, this surname is rare, and it's seldom mispronounced."

A slight smile appeared on Kyomu's face as he continued his self-introduction, "As for things I like, there's nothing I particularly like, and as for things I dislike, there's nothing I particularly dislike. As for dreams, I prefer to quietly do what I enjoy."

As he finished speaking, the classroom fell into silence, no applause, just everyone looking at each other in silence.

This self-introduction was truly unique; besides knowing Aragami Kyomu's name, no one learned anything else.

While Kakashi found it somewhat boring, at this moment, he became more alert.

After hearing Kyomu's desk mate's self-introduction, Kakashi suddenly felt that this person was not as simple as he seemed.

Kakashi couldn't pinpoint exactly what made Kyomu seem extraordinary. It was just an inexplicable feeling that this person could appeal to him.

But then again, Kyomu's self-introduction didn't imply anything; he simply didn't want to say more.

Just like keeping a diary, who earnestly talks about their dreams every day?

Perhaps, he just didn't fit in here. Or maybe, Kyomu's mental age prevented him from actively blending in.

Meanwhile, the ninja teacher, Shuzo, was also quite troubled. He didn't expect Kyomu, who seemed ordinary, to be a hidden thorn among the students.

But he chose not to explode; instead, he gestured to return to their seats and pay attention, not to sleep in class.

Kyomu walked back to his seat, passing by Kakashi. He couldn't help but glance at him and whispered the first sentence between them.

"Your self-introduction was very indifferent."

"Thanks for the compliment." Kyomu smiled softly. "Yours wasn't bad either."

Kakashi didn't respond and turned his head away, ignoring Kyomu.

Knowing Kakashi's personality better, Kyomu didn't take it to heart. This outwardly cold but inwardly warm and slightly sly 'man' would be easy to get along with once they spent more time together.

And, it was their first day of getting to know each other. No need to rush.

Initially planning to lie back on the desk, Kyomu reconsidered. Slacking off required finesse; being too overt might not draw much attention, but Ninja Teacher Shuzo would certainly have opinions.

Supporting his chin with one hand, Kyomu turned his head to look out the window. Chaotic thoughts filled his mind, and whatever happened next in the classroom had nothing to do with him.

Shuzo noticed Kyomu daydreaming and decided that when he officially taught, he would specifically target Aragami Kyomu with questions.

Soon, the students finished their self-introductions, and Shuzo began the first lesson.

The content was basic and easy to understand, revolving around the relationship between chakra, the ninja's energy, and the human body.

"Kyomu, come and answer this question." Shuzo tapped the blackboard, pulling Kyomu's thoughts back on track.

Kyomu stood up a bit reluctantly, glancing at the content on the blackboard, answering the question and even drawing broader connections effortlessly.

"Have you encountered this before?" Shuzo was somewhat surprised. "Were your parents your teachers, or..."

"No, I haven't." Kyomu shook his head. "It's such a simple question; anyone can see it at a glance."

Telling the truth without any embellishments, Kyomu did not attempt to deceive. However, as he finished speaking, the classroom erupted.

"Jerk."

"Too much!"

"What's he pretending for?"

"He must have done his homework in advance, trying to highlight himself in this way."

Listening to the buzzing discussions around him, Kyomu remained unfazed.

He spoke the truth without any embellishment. If blame had to be placed, it was on the 'King of Nonchalance' passive skill; it provided too much.

Full points in talent, memory, and learning abilities – encountering him would make any same-aged ninja god question their life.

Kakashi also glanced at Kyomu, further confirming his suspicions.

This desk mate of his was not ordinary!
