Chapter 79: Chapter 13

The Justice League's Watchtower was abuzz with tension as the core members debated the controversial situation surrounding Raven. She had confessed to manslaughter—a bold and shocking admission that left the League scrambling to determine their course of action. The gravity of the matter was evident in their expressions, but Wonder Woman's voice carried a firm resolve as she addressed the room.

"We can't let Raven be detained by the humans. They'll exploit her, and the situation around her is far too delicate for them to handle," Diana said, her arms crossed as she looked around the room, challenging anyone to disagree.

Bruce Wayne, seated at the table with his iconic stoic demeanor, pinched the bridge of his nose. His usual sharp focus seemed dulled by the weight of the discussion. The moral and practical implications of Raven's actions—and the League's response—had pushed him into a corner.

'What she did was undeniably wrong,' Batman thought, 'but Wasp's video evidence shows she didn't have a viable choice. Public sentiment would likely support leniency, but her detainment by authorities could lead to exploitation. With her powers, she's a prime candidate for experimentation.'

He turned his gaze to Superman, silently conveying his conflicted thoughts.

Clark Kent, ever the symbol of hope and decisiveness, finally broke the silence. "It seems we all agree on a similar course of action. We will detain Raven here at the Watchtower," Superman said, rising from his seat. "She will be held accountable for her actions, but we will also ensure that her powers are used for the betterment of society. We cannot allow her to fall into the wrong hands."

The others nodded in agreement. There was an unspoken consensus that keeping Raven within their jurisdiction was the best way to protect her—and the world—from potential fallout.

"I'll handle this," Superman declared, his tone resolute. Without waiting for further input, he exited the room and made his way toward the Boom Tube, intent on reaching Raven's detainment location.

As the rest of the League dispersed, Bruce stood and stretched slightly, a rare sign of weariness escaping his usually unshakable form. Turning toward Diana, he spoke, "I think I'll be getting a massage today. Care to join me?"

Diana raised an eyebrow, her lips quirking into a teasing smile. "A massage? The Batman seeks comfort? Now this, I have to see. Lead the way," she said, following him with an amused glint in her eyes.

Bruce smirked faintly as they made their way to the Boom Tube. "You'll understand once you experience it. The man has hands that could rival a surgeon's precision. Even I have to admit—he's a miracle worker."

Diana chuckled, shaking her head. "If someone can satisfy even the infamous Batman's standards, then I suppose I can't miss this. Let's hope he's ready for a warrior's tension."

As the two disappeared into the Boom Tube, the Watchtower fell into an unusual quiet—a momentary reprieve before the storm of consequences Raven's confession was bound to unleash. While the League sought to shield her, they couldn't help but wonder: would their decision bring peace, or would it only spark new conflicts in the already fragile world they swore to protect?

The bustling streets of the city were alive with energy, yet Naruto and Hima existed in their own bubble of happiness. To any onlooker, they seemed like a couple deeply in love, an assumption driven by their close proximity and the youthful appearance Naruto maintained, looking no older than his early twenties.

Hima clung to his arm with the enthusiasm of a child on her first adventure, her radiant joy captivating those around them. Her excitement was palpable, dragging Naruto from one shop to another and pointing out anything that caught her eye.

"Hima, calm down," Naruto said with a soft chuckle, his tone filled with warmth. "We've got the whole day ahead of us. No need to rush."

Hima slowed her pace, though her bright smile remained. "Sorry, Daddy. I'm just so excited. You won't leave in the middle, right?" she asked, her voice laced with a tinge of vulnerability.

Naruto stopped and turned to face her fully, his azure eyes meeting hers with sincerity. "Of course not," he said, placing a reassuring hand on her head. "I'll be with you the entire day. Nothing can change that."

Hima's face lit up, but behind her cheerful demeanor, a quiet thought lingered. 'Even if the world is in danger or those so-called sisters of mine are in trouble.'

Naruto's smile faltered for the briefest moment as a strange pang of unease stirred within him. His thoughts drifted, unbidden, to the future. 'She's grown into such a beautiful, strong woman. Someday, she'll find someone to love, someone better suited to care for her...'

But the image in his mind caused an inexplicable wave of nausea to rise within him. He felt a sharp, visceral discomfort—one so deep it almost made him lose his balance.

'What is this?' he thought, shaken by the intensity of the feeling.

Kurama, ever the silent observer in Naruto's mind, noted the shift with interest but chose not to intervene. 'You'll figure it out soon enough, Naruto,' the great fox mused. 'And when you do, I just hope it doesn't shatter you completely.'

Meanwhile, Hima noticed the brief change in Naruto's demeanor. Her sharp instincts as his daughter allowed her to sense the turmoil beneath his smile. "Is something wrong, Daddy?" she asked, her voice filled with concern.

Naruto quickly shook off the feeling and pulled her into a tight embrace, his usual gentle aura enveloping her. "Nothing, sweetie. Just a bit of stress," he replied, holding her a little longer than necessary.

The pair's affectionate display caught the attention of passersby, who murmured admiring comments as they walked by.

"What a cute couple."

"I wish my boyfriend was as thoughtful."

The remarks caused Naruto to pull away suddenly, feeling an awkward heat rise to his cheeks. "Let's keep moving," he said, clearing his throat. "We don't want to disturb anyone."

Hima, however, felt a flicker of annoyance at the interference. But as Naruto gently took her hand and led the way, the irritation melted away, replaced by an overwhelming sense of bliss.

'Spending time with Daddy is the best,' she thought, her heart full as they continued their day together. Every moment with him felt like a treasure, and she intended to make the most of it.

Naruto turned toward the familiar voice calling his name and spotted Bruce Wayne approaching him with a striking woman by his side. With his usual polite demeanor, Naruto greeted them. "Hello, Bruce. How may I help you today?"

Bruce offered a small nod before gesturing to the woman beside him. "I just wanted to say hi and introduce my friend. She's interested in visiting your massage parlor."

The woman stepped forward gracefully, her presence commanding attention even in the casual setting. "Hello, my name is Diana Prince. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance," she said, extending a hand.

Naruto shook her hand firmly, offering a warm smile. "Likewise. I'm Naruto Uzumaki. You're welcome to visit tomorrow. For now, I'd like to excuse myself since I'm spending the day with my daughter."

Diana's gaze lingered on him for a moment, her keen instincts as a warrior sensing something unusual. 'He's not ordinary. There's a deep, restrained power in him—a warrior's aura that doesn't match the surface gentleness. Could he be a strict martial artist? Bruce did mention he owns a dojo.'

Bruce nodded understandingly. "Of course. Have a good day, Naruto."

Naruto gave a polite bow and took Hima's hand, leading her away. Hima, clinging to his arm, shot a wary glance back at the two strangers, not appreciating the interruption.

As the Uzumaki duo disappeared into the crowd, Bruce turned to Diana, his tone quiet and thoughtful. "Did you feel anything unusual?"

Diana nodded, her expression contemplative. "He has a strong aura, stronger than even yours or Clark's. It's the aura of someone deeply attuned to combat. He must have endured countless battles to radiate such presence."

Bruce frowned slightly, his analytical mind already working through the implications. 'A strong aura of a fighter... That's not something you develop lightly. Could it be from regular spars with skilled fighters, or perhaps even supernatural beings? I might've underestimated him.'

"Be cautious around him," Bruce murmured as they entered the car. "I have a feeling there's more to Naruto than meets the eye."

Diana glanced out the window, her mind still on the brief meeting. "Agreed. He's someone worth watching closely."

Amanda Waller walked with calm authority as she escorted Raven through the sterile corridors of the facility, flanked by her ever-vigilant guard. Her tone was composed, almost maternal, as she addressed the somber young woman beside her.

"Thank you for not causing any trouble, child. We will ensure your stay here is peaceful and without unnecessary interference," Amanda said, a thin smile playing on her lips.

Raven, her face a mask of stoic resignation, offered no response. Her violet eyes stayed fixed ahead, avoiding Amanda's probing gaze. Inside, a tempest of emotions churned, but she maintained her silence. 'What I did was wrong, but it was necessary. Still, I took justice into my own hands, and I must bear the consequences.'

Despite her attempts to focus on the path ahead, Raven couldn't ignore the oppressive presence beside Amanda. A chill ran down her spine. 'Amanda Waller may be calculating, but the woman with her is dangerous—far more than she appears.'

Before they could reach their destination, a shimmering distortion rippled through the air. Wasp, her lithe form encased in her advanced armor, phased through the walls to block their path.

"Amanda, I'm here for my friend," Wasp declared firmly, her voice steady as she held out an official-looking document. "The President has issued her pardon."

Amanda's smile turned sharp, her eyes narrowing at the unexpected turn. She didn't so much as glance at the paper before addressing Wasp with a saccharine tone laced with venom.

"How sweet," she said, her voice dripping with mockery. "But I don't like it when people try to take my toys. Enchantress, take care of her."

The air grew heavy as Enchantress, the enigmatic sorceress standing beside Amanda, stepped forward. Without warning, she raised a hand, sending a bolt of mystic energy hurtling toward Wasp. The attack was swift—so swift that even Wasp's enhanced sensors barely registered it—but her armor reacted in time, neutralizing the bolt with a shimmering barrier.

"Impressive," Enchantress mused, her voice a low purr of menace. "But let's see how long that lasts. Capture her, and don't hold back."

Wasp barely had time to react as a barrage of arcane spears rained down upon her. Her barrier absorbed most of the onslaught, but the sheer force pushed her back. Raven, powerless and restrained, called out urgently.

"Wasp, run! She's too strong!"

Wasp shook her head, her voice steady despite the chaos. "Don't worry. I can't get hurt."

Yet even as she said it, doubt flickered in her mind. The barrier held strong, but something was wrong. When Enchantress waved her hand, the rules of reality seemed to warp. Attacks phased through her defenses, slamming into her armor and sending her sprawling.

'What was that? The barrier isn't broken, but her attacks are bypassing it. She can manipulate reality... maybe even bypass my armor entirely.' Wasp felt a moment of dread before her thoughts turned to her father. 'But Father is always watching. He won't let anything happen to me.'

Summoning her resolve, she raised her right arm, unleashing a powerful blast from her chakra cannon. The brilliant blue beam struck Enchantress's force field but failed to penetrate it.

The sorceress smirked, her tone dripping with condescension. "Your equipment intrigues me. Who made it, and what powers it? I'd enjoy testing its limits... but why bother when I can find its creator? Sleep now."

Enchantress attempted to assault Wasp's mind, but to her frustration, the attempt failed. Growling, she waved her hand again, and the flow of time around them ground to a halt.

Unbeknownst to her, Superman had arrived, his sharp senses picking up the battle raging below. Using his enhanced vision, he assessed the situation.

'Time manipulation. How extensive is its range?' he wondered, deciding to test her defenses. He fired a precise blast of heat vision at Enchantress's leg. The attack dissipated harmlessly against her force field.

"Another bug," Enchantress muttered, annoyance flashing in her eyes. "Can you not mortals stay out of my way?"

With a flick of her hand, she manipulated the surrounding air, attempting to suffocate Superman. When that failed, she unleashed a torrent of raw magical energy, a pillar of shimmering light that crashed down upon him. Superman braced himself, intercepting the attack to protect the others.

The blow sent him reeling. Magic struck differently than any other force he encountered, bypassing his natural invulnerability. Gritting his teeth, he steadied himself. 'This isn't going to be easy.'

As the battle raged on, the air thrummed with tension. Raven, watching helplessly, could only hope her friends would prevail against the overwhelming power of Enchantress.
