Naruto : My AI System is Really That Powerful

Chapter 19: The Mightiest Kidney Warrior

The worst-case scenario had come true.

If the enemy could bypass the frontlines and strike deep into allied territory, there was no way they didn't have a sensory-type shinobi among them.

Jun tightened his grip around his kunai. Of course. His first mission couldn't possibly have been that simple.

A so-called C-rank mission… suddenly upgraded.

Oddly, his nerves weren't on edge anymore. Instead, strange thoughts kept flashing through his mind.

"Run!"

Tsume leapt off Kuromaru's back, wincing from her wound. "I'll hold them off! You get out of here!"

"Hmph. Barking mutt pretending she's still got bite."

The Cloud-nin in front, clearly the leader, drew a gleaming ninjatō from his back. "Leave no survivors."

Mizuki's hands trembled. "What do we do? Do we actually run for it?"

He looked to Jun, hoping once again they'd be on the same page.

But this time, Jun let him down.

He stepped forward and lowered into a fighting stance. "We fight. Help the captain hold them off."

Tsume was already injured—she wouldn't last long alone. And without Kuromaru's sensory range, they'd be running blind.

In the end, courage wins when paths collide. Jun's fear had already burned away.

Anko's eyes lit up, hopeful. "I knew you'd come through, Jun."

But Tsume snarled like a wild beast, "Get lost! You brats will only get in my way—MOVE!"

Boom!

Tsume and Kuromaru surged forward, their claws slamming into the leading Cloud-nin and knocking him back.

She landed on all fours, blue chakra pouring off her like a raging current.

Poof!

Kuromaru transformed—becoming a perfect copy of Tsume.

Beast-Human Clone Jutsu!

Fang Over Fang!

Together, they became twin whirlwinds of spinning chakra and fur, launching a blistering assault on the remaining two Cloud-nin.

Even with her injuries, Tsume clearly intended to hold all three enemies at once.

Jun darted in behind her, hurling a kunai at the downed squad leader.

Fwip!

He didn't even wait to see if it hit. His hands blurred through hand seals.

He knew his throwing aim wasn't great. But even a moment's distraction could create an opening.

Anko and Mizuki lagged behind.

Mizuki stood frozen, useless.

Anko, at least, was forming hand seals—but she was half a beat too slow.

By the time she finished, Jun had already released his jutsu.

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

The two Cloud-nin blocking Tsume's attack were wreathed in crackling lightning—just preparing their next move—when Jun's fireball engulfed one of them in a roaring blaze.

"Did that… take him out?" Anko asked, hope flickering.

Tsume coughed twice and gave a rare nod of approval. "Not bad. Your timing's sharp."

The so-called "Uchiha disgrace" had not only learned Fire Style, but also showed decent combat sense? Maybe the rumors were wrong.

But Jun didn't pause.

His Sharingan spun crimson, locking onto the enemy as he lunged forward.

Shing!

A ninjatō wrapped in lightning sliced through empty space.

"Oh?" the Cloud-nin muttered. "An Uchiha, huh?"

As the fireball's smoke cleared, all that remained was a blackened log.

"Damn it!" Anko shouted.

She finished her jutsu and exhaled. "Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu!"

"Tch."

The Cloud-nin twisted and slashed, cutting clean through the narrow jet of flame.

Anko's face fell.

Poof!

The second Cloud-nin vanished, replaced by another scorched log.

"Impressive reactions," he muttered. "You brats are growing faster than expected."

Anko stumbled back, face pale.

They were too fast.

"Focus on one!" Tsume bellowed. "You three—take just one down!"

Inuzuka Style: Human-Beast Fusion—Two-Headed Wolf!

Seeing Jun and Anko holding their own, Tsume relaxed slightly.

Even injured, she'd decided to risk it all—holding back two opponents so her genin could eliminate the third.

ROAR!

The massive black twin-headed wolf form barreled into the Cloud-nin who had tried to blindside Anko, swatting him aside.

Then it turned, jaws gaping, lunging toward the squad leader—who was now clutching his ass in shock.

Unseen by Jun or anyone else, the kunai he'd thrown earlier had bounced off the Cloud-nin's blade and curved just enough to land a perfect hit…

…right in his butt.

Jun's Fire Style hadn't done much.

But that accidental kunai throw?

Decisive.

Now, with Tsume holding off two enemies, Jun, Anko, and Mizuki were left to face just one Cloud-nin.

Three-on-one, but no one relaxed.

If there was one village the Leaf feared most in war, it was the Hidden Cloud.

Their shinobi were brutal—masters of ninjutsu and taijutsu alike.

Even their mid-tier fighters were lethal when wielding their chakra-enhanced blades and lightning-infused reflexes.

Fwip!

For some reason, the enemy didn't go after the still-frozen Mizuki.

He kept lunging at Anko—the youngest.

Jun had no choice but to open the Eight Gates and play bodyguard.

Anko bit her lip hard.

She knew that if Jun hadn't been shielding her, she'd already be dead.

Clang!

CRACK!

Jun's second kunai shattered on the Cloud-nin's blade. Only one left in his pouch.

"Tch."

The enemy backed off, pointing his sword at Mizuki. "So you haven't moved at all. You must be the strongest of the three. Is that it? Too proud to join the others?"

"Eh!? What?!"

Jun's face twitched.

So that's why he kept going after the girl… he thought Mizuki was the threat?

Jun gave Mizuki a quick glance, eyes hinting, Stall. Do anything, just stall him.

On the other front, Tsume was starting to gain the upper hand. If they held out just a little longer…

Mizuki hid his trembling arms behind his back and muttered, "You… you lightning freak… you're just like those meathead samurai. Not even worth my time."

Oh no.

Jun facepalmed. Why—why is taunting the only thing in your entire vocabulary!?

Predictably, the Cloud-nin's nostrils flared wide. "You're dead!"

CRACKLE!

Lightning surged along his limbs. His speed spiked again as he slashed toward Mizuki.

"AAAAAHHHHH!!"

Mizuki screamed, expression twisting—

The sudden ferocity gave the Cloud-nin pause, causing him to hold back slightly to brace for a counterattack.

Then Mizuki tossed two shuriken blindly—

—and turned tail, bolting like a panicked rabbit.

The Cloud-nin froze, stunned.

What the hell…?

Now!

Jun's Sharingan flared bright crimson. He took a deep breath.

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

FOOOM!

Flames surged outward, engulfing everything ahead.

"You think that'll work again?!"

Shing!

The enemy's blade sliced the fireball in two, scattering flames to either side.

Damn it. Fire Style really can't kill anyone, can it?

But the jutsu had done its job.

Through the smoke, Jun closed in, his final kunai gleaming.

He lunged for the Cloud-nin's side—

"Take this… my mightiest kidney strike!!"
