NARUTO: Ninja World Scientific Revolution

Chapter 74: CHAPTER 74 - The Star Stone in Hand

"Chiyo-sama, the ninjas from Konoha have brought a new antidote. This time, after our ninjas injured them, they injected the antidote and within three minutes, they were fully recovered!"

"What!?"

Chiyo's scream in the town of Sunagakure was so loud that even the ninjas outside could hear it clearly. It wasn't surprising that Chiyo was so alarmed. The many poisons skillfully prepared by the puppet masters of Sunagakure had been thoroughly cracked by the Konoha ninjas one after another. This meant that one of their most potent weapons was now useless.

"Who did this? Have you found out any specific details? Could it be that Princess Tsunade has come to the frontlines again?"

Chiyo asked with a dark expression. If their poisons no longer worked, it would mean Sunagakure could no longer gain the upper hand in the battle against Konoha. At this time, Konoha's military strength was the strongest among the five great nations, even surpassing that of the warlike cloud ninja. During the Second Shinobi World War, Konoha's victory was largely due to Tsunade; this slug princess had not only cracked all of Sunagakure's poisons but could also counteract the poison of the Salamander. Thanks to Tsunade, Sunagakure's offensive was effectively stopped.

Chiyo had heard that Tsunade had left Konoha, so now she wondered who could have cracked their poisons.

"We're not sure, but we haven't heard any news of Tsunade being at the battlefield in the Land of Rivers," the ninja reported.

"It's not Tsunade, Chiyo-sama."

Suddenly, Rasa, Sunagakure's Fourth Kazekage, entered, his face serious. "After the second poison was neutralized by Konoha, I sent the Anbu to investigate. Though we couldn't pinpoint who's responsible for neutralizing the poison, Tsunade was recently seen in the Land of Hot Water. She wouldn't have been able to make it to the Land of Rivers so quickly."

Chiyo furrowed her brow. "Then who could it be? Could there be another highly skilled medical ninja in Konoha?"

Rasa, although also curious, was more concerned about the pressing matter at hand. He said, "Chiyo-sama, I've decided to send an envoy to form an alliance with Iwagakure and jointly attack Konoha."

Chiyo glanced at Rasa, then slowly said, "That old man Onoki is not someone who gives promises easily."

"For now, that's the only option. I've already sent Anbu to invite Master Bunpuku. With the Jinchuriki of the One-Tail joining the battle, Iwagakure should not be able to resist biting off a piece of Konoha."

"Bunpuku..." Chiyo muttered. She understood that Rasa was determined to defeat Konoha on the battlefield of the Land of Rivers. Deploying the Jinchuriki was almost their last resort.

"Do as you wish. After all, you are the Fourth Kazekage of Sunagakure now."

With those words, Chiyo prepared to continue refining a new batch of poison. If there wasn't a large-scale war, her greatest contribution would be to keep developing powerful poisons to give Sunagakure's ninjas an edge over Konoha.

Meanwhile, Konoha was unaware that Sunagakure was planning to deploy the Jinchuriki to the battlefield. If they had known, they would have definitely prepared a countermeasure. If the Jinchuriki fully unleashed the power of the Tailed Beast on the battlefield, it would be a disaster of catastrophic proportions. Even the weakest of the Tailed Beasts, the One-Tail, would require an expert like Orochimaru to deal with it or a team of elite jonin working together to restrain it.

"Has all the money been spent?"

Hyuga Mirai's face was calm, but Ayaka Uzumaki, who was looking down, could feel an eerie coldness rising from him.

"It's not all gone, there's still some left. I've been very frugal."

As she spoke, Ayaka's voice grew softer, almost to the point where Mirai couldn't hear what she was mumbling.

Though Ayaka hadn't spent it all, the remaining two thousand or so ryo would be gone in less than a week, even with frugality. If Mirai didn't come to find her soon, she was considering getting a part-time job.

In just one month, she had spent around fifty thousand ryo, and even though she only bought a couple of new sets of clothes and didn't spend much on housing, it seemed like all her money had gone into food.

Mirai glanced around, feeling helpless. Ayaka was the first subordinate he took in, and it would be a huge loss to kick her out just because she ate too much. Her skills and potential were great, and if she grew, she could become a useful assistant. But she certainly had an appetite...

Mirai stared at her for a while without saying anything. His white eyes made Ayaka lower her head further, nearly burying it in her chest.

"...Be more careful with your spending."

Mirai finally gave her some more money. Though it made him seem a little less dignified, he really didn't have much left.

He had been assigned to a job making antidotes, and with no access to military supplies, his finances were running low. He had heard that even Orochimaru himself had selected this position for him, which made it clear he was a trusted confidant. After dealing with Sunagakure, Orochimaru would likely have the funds to create a clone.

Mirai checked Ayaka's training progress and then explained some of the difficulties she had encountered in her practice. Though his teaching skills might not match those of a specialized instructor, it was more than enough for Kushina to grasp the concepts.

Time passed quickly, and three days later, Mirai visited the black market. After obtaining the Star Stone, he immediately returned to Kikyō City. The memories of his shadow clones had not returned, meaning nothing unusual had happened in Kikyō City.

Upon his safe return, Mirai eagerly began his research on the Star Stone. It had radiation, and although the Third Star Shadow lived over a hundred years without issue, he might have been an anomaly.

Thus, Mirai had prepared protective gear in advance. Since the Star Stone could radiate chakra, causing mutations in it, he didn't dare use his shadow clones to help.

"Hmm, I originally thought this was a meteorite, but it actually has biological characteristics. Could the Star Stone be remnants of the Ten-Tails?"

After studying the molecular structure of the Star Stone, Mirai discovered that it was in a state between life and death—showing the signs of living cells while maintaining a stable physical structure.

"Could this be a fragment of Kaguya's body, considering the Ten-Tails is now the Outer Path Chakra Statue?"

After obtaining the chemical properties and molecular structure of the Star Stone from his shadow clone, Mirai began calculating the feasibility of turning it into an energy furnace. His clone informed him, "It will take about a day, but before that, you need to clean away the unnecessary impurities and observe the isolation."

"The source can be investigated later, but this Star Stone contains a significant amount of energy. It can definitely be turned into an energy power furnace."

With that, the biological-mechanical assistant's energy furnace project finally had a lead.
