Chapter 107: Martyr
"What are you doing standing there, stunned? Move now!" roared Chen, glaring at the Konoha ninjas who were paralyzed behind him, still in shock from the battle.
The moment was critical: the morale of the Cloud ninjas was in the gutter, and they had to take advantage of this instant to attack mercilessly.
Chen's voice woke the stunned Konoha ninjas.
Yi and the Uchiha clan were the first to react, leading the charge against the Kumogakure shinobi with ferocity.
Chen watched the scene, and a slight smile appeared on his face. "No wonder they were one of the two most powerful clans during the Warring States period," he murmured.
"They are ruthless, truly ruthless."
However, his expression darkened as he observed the performance of the Shimura and Sarutobi clans. They moved slower than a turtle, and their attacks lacked conviction.
The evident lack of fighting spirit made him frown.
"Do they really think I won't dare kill them?" he murmured coldly. "When this war ends... we'll see who remains useful."
Suddenly, a deep voice interrupted his thoughts.
"Do you dare to get distracted while fighting me? YOU'RE DEAD!" roared the Raikage. Taking the opportunity, he lunged at Chen with a direct blow.
Chen calmly raised his hand, blocking the attack. At that moment, his eyes turned cold. "Do you really think you can touch me?" he said, performing the Gentle Fist.
"Eight Trigrams One Hundred Twenty-Eight Palms!" he shouted forcefully.
A trigrams symbol appeared beneath the Raikage's feet, and in the blink of an eye, Chen's palms began to strike him mercilessly.
Every strike was precise, each palm directed at the Raikage's chakra points, closing them one by one.
The Raikage could not prevent it. His chakra dispersed, his body weakened, and the Lightning Release Chakra Mode deactivated abruptly.
The impact was brutal, making him vomit blood as he was thrown into the air.
But Chen wasn't done.
"This isn't over yet!" he shouted. "Eight Trigrams Mountain Crusher!"
His right hand began to accumulate chakra, the white energy swirling frantically around his palm. In a second, he aimed at the Raikage, who was still in the air, with no means of defending himself.
A gigantic wave of chakra was released from his hand, a torrent of chakra that tore through the air with a deafening roar.
The Raikage, still suspended in the air and with his chakra blocked, had no chance to evade it.
Booom!
His body was dragged nearly a kilometer, leaving a deep ravine in the battlefield as he was swept away by the chakra wave.
Everything in its path—trees, rocks, even ninjas—was destroyed.
"Eighty Gods Vacuum Attack!"
With that shout, giant transparent purple fists materialized in the air, shooting like meteors towards the Cloud shinobi.
Each strike was pure destruction, impacting the ground with force that reduced hundreds of enemies to ashes. The earth was filled with craters, enormous holes that looked like they had been caused by thousands of missile impacts.
Chen looked at the results with an expression of dissatisfaction. He had sought more. He had wanted to wipe out Kumogakure's army, but even so, what he saw wasn't enough for the moment.
A, breathing heavily, frantically surveyed the battlefield.
His gaze searched desperately for his father, fearing the worst. When he finally spotted him, his body relaxed for a moment, and he let out a sigh of relief.
The Raikage was still alive, although severely injured, but he was there. He could still fight, someday.
Carrying the Raikage on his back, A observed the chaos surrounding him. The Cloud ninjas, who only moments ago fought desperately, were now being swept away by Konoha's forces. Seeing the disaster and the inevitability of their defeat, he shouted, "Retreat, everyone! Right now! There is no honor in dying pointlessly here!"
The Cloud ninjas, who had been holding out with the last spark of bravery, heard the order with relief.
They looked toward the center of the battlefield, where Chen remained calm. Just seeing him made them feel deep despair.
The Raikage had always been the symbol of their power, the very representation of the invincible. But now, seeing their leader defeated so easily, broke something in them.
The faith they had placed in the Raikage's invulnerability crumbled, and along with it, their fighting spirit. There was no more strength in their hearts, only a broken will.
A looked at his men, their eyes filled with hopelessness, and knew that retreat was the only option. There was no more hope on the battlefield; only survival remained.
"Don't pursue them." From his position, Chen watched the retreat of the Kumogakure ninjas.
"Clean up the battlefield and return to the camp." His words were cold, devoid of emotion.
After speaking, he disappeared in a flash, teleporting next to Konan.
She remained inside the Susanoo, her big eyes fixed in the distance, watching everything that had happened on the battlefield.
"Konan, were you scared?" he asked in a low voice.
Konan looked up at him, and a tender smile appeared on her face. "No, I'm not scared. Because I know that no matter what happens, you'll always be here to protect me."
Chen let out a laugh, his expression relaxing as he watched her. "That's what I wanted to hear! Come on, let's return to the camp!" he said, easily lifting her into his arms. With a thought, the Susanoo disappeared, dissipating into the air.
Back at the camp, he wasted no time. He immediately called a meeting.
…
"This time, the Uchiha clan attacked with all they had and were the ones who took down the most enemies! Unlike some others who seemed to be out for a stroll in the field!" exclaimed Chen, his piercing eyes fixed on the leaders of the Sarutobi and Shimura clans.
Yi looked at Chen, surprised by his words.
He didn't expect to hear that. Everyone knew that the relationship between Chen and the Uchiha clan wasn't good, but here he was, acknowledging their merit in the battle—something no one saw coming.
"Next time we're at war," Chen continued coldly, "the Uchiha will stay in the rear. The Sarutobi and Shimura clans will go to the front, as meat shields! If they dare retreat, I will bury their entire clans personally."
Everyone looked at Chen in disbelief, the silence taking over the tent. But Yi couldn't help feeling satisfaction. He detested the lack of courage from those two clans, and the fact that someone called them out was a relief.
"Why?!" roared the Sarutobi clan leader. "Why are you saying that? We've fought as much as anyone!"
Chen looked at him with absolute disdain. "We don't need trash in this war. And you, to me, are nothing but that—trash. If you have any value, it will be as fodder for arrows on the front line," he said with contempt.
The Sarutobi leader clenched his fists tightly, his hands trembling with rage. "What right do you have to say that? I'm going to report to the Hokage and have you removed from your position! Don't think you can be arrogant just because you have some power! You're nothing compared to me!"
"Hahaha…." Chen let out a cold laugh, his gaze turning even darker, his voice now lower and more dangerous.
"Oh, is that how it is?"
"Tell me, what is your name?"
"My name is Pig Sarutobi!" shouted the leader in fury, his chest swelling with pride, still believing he had some chance to impose himself.
Chen smiled. "Ah, Pig Sarutobi! What an appropriate name! Pig Sarutobi fought fiercely today! He was the one who defeated the Raikage and wounded him gravely! It's a great merit, no doubt!"
The people present looked at Chen in amazement, not knowing what he was up to. But there was something in his gaze that indicated this was only the beginning of even greater humiliation.
Pig, on the other hand, thought Chen was backing down.
That maybe he feared him, and that's why he wanted to give him credit for the battle against the Raikage. "Yes! I did it! I defeated the Raikage and wounded him gravely! If he hadn't escaped so quickly, he would have died at my hands!"
But Chen wasn't done speaking. "Although Pig Sarutobi was very brave..."
"The Raikage's strength should not be underestimated. Pig Sarutobi, our hero, fought with all his might and managed to wound the Raikage. But he was also gravely wounded. Now I'm considering his sacrifice... as that of a martyr. Tell me, does anyone have any objections?"
Pig paled, the color disappearing from his face, his eyes wide. "Chen Hyuga, what are you saying?! I'm still here, I'm not dead!"
"You're not dead... yet." He crossed his arms and spoke slowly. "But you will be soon."
Pig stepped back, his heart pounding hard. "Do you want to kill me?" he shouted, the fear beginning to seep into his words.
"Me?" Chen never took his eyes off Pig. "No, I'm not the one who's going to kill you."
"It was the Raikage who did it, don't you remember?" he added ironically. "Pig Sarutobi, our brave martyr!" he said sarcastically, looking at the rest of those present.
"Who agrees? Who opposes?"
