"You two are complete slackers," Tsunade said as she looked at Chen and Kushina with a raised eyebrow.

"Us?! Tsunade, you have no right to say that!" Kushina replied, narrowing her eyes. "Look who's lying there."

Tsunade let out an exaggerated sigh, looking directly at Chen to change the subject. "Tell me, what are you going to do now? You know the old man and Danzo aren't just going to let you go like that."

Chen raised an eyebrow. "Don't worry, Tsunade. They won't bother me now, the time will come. I'll wait until this war is over," he responded indifferently.

The war was far from over, and they all knew it. If he didn't intervene, the battle could drag on for years.

"Do whatever you want, then!" Tsunade replied, dropping herself onto the table, resigned.

At that moment, Mikoto came out of the kitchen, drying her hands as she observed the scene. She shook her head, letting out a resigned smile.

She was already used to these arguments.

After talking a bit more with Mikoto and the others, Chen stood up and said his goodbyes, deciding not to return to the battlefield yet. Instead, he headed to the logistics department.

"Nawaki!" he called out when he saw Nawaki busy with some documents.

Nawaki looked up, his eyes widening upon seeing him. "Chen! What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be fighting on the Kumogakure battlefield?"

Chen looked around, and upon noticing the scarcity of Senju ninjas, his expression darkened. "You guys...? Are these all that's left?" he asked, pointing to the few people present.

Nawaki's once enthusiastic face immediately turned somber. "We were ambushed by Sand ninjas... many fell," he replied bitterly.

Shaking his head slowly, as if he had already imagined it. He gestured for Nawaki to follow him.

Although clearly confused, Nawaki decided to follow Chen without saying a word. They walked in silence, away from the bustle.

"Chen, you're a legend now," he suddenly commented, trying to ease the tension. "Everyone talks about you, even ninjas from other villages think you should be the Hokage. I really envy you!" he said, with a mix of admiration and a hint of jealousy.

Chen smiled sideways. "There's nothing to envy, Nawaki," he said, his voice growing more serious. "Today I came for something important." He extended his hand and placed it on Nawaki's head. "This will hurt a little."

Nawaki's eyes opened in alarm.

"Hey, Chen, that hurts! What are you doing?" he exclaimed, holding his hands to his forehead, where a bright mark briefly appeared before disappearing.

Chen watched him with an enigmatic smile. "I gave you something that could save your life. So stop complaining," he said without giving any explanation.

Nawaki looked at him in confusion. "Save me...? What are you talking about, Chen?" he asked, bewildered.

Chen crossed his arms and stared at him. His eyes glowed intensely for a moment before returning to normal. "You'll know when the time comes. In the meantime, feel free to venture wherever you want; I assure you that you won't die."

Nawaki blinked, clearly not understanding, but before he could respond, Chen waved his hand. "It's time for you to go back, I have to leave," he said, turning his back and walking away without further explanation.

Watching him leave, a mix of confusion and amazement on his face. He didn't fully understand what had happened, but he trusted Chen.

Later, Chen returned to say goodbye to Mikoto, Kushina, and Tsunade as he took Konan and teleported back to the Kumogakure battlefield.

However, upon arrival, he did not involve himself directly in the combat. Instead, he stayed in his residence, either teaching Konan new techniques or perfecting Sage Mode on his own.

Meanwhile, in Kumogakure, concerns were growing.

"Father, Chen hasn't been on the battlefield for weeks. The commander now is Sakumo Hatake, the White Fang of Konoha. Do you think something strange is going on with Konoha?"

The Raikage nodded gravely. "There must be something more behind this. I saw with my own eyes how that brat killed the Sarutobi and Shimura clan ninjas in front of everyone, without a second's hesitation."

Young A's eyes glowed with a glimmer of ambition. "If there are internal conflicts in Konoha, we could take advantage of the opportunity."

The fear of Chen was deep among the Cloud shinobi. The image of his Chakra Mode still haunted them, and they knew that if he decided to intervene, their options would be limited to surrender. They were facing a power that defied logic and imagination, and they had no real hope of victory.

"We cannot be reckless," said the Raikage sternly. "First we need to test the situation in Konoha, make sure that brat really has no intention of acting."

Shortly after, he led a team to launch covert attacks on Konoha, causing significant casualties among the village's ninjas. Although the White Fang attempted to face the Raikage on multiple occasions, he simply couldn't compare. In terms of speed, strength, and defense, the Third Raikage was on a completely different level.

With no chance of victory, Sakumo was forced to seek Chen's help. But he had no interest in getting involved. It was a crucial time to perfect Sage Mode, and nothing would take him away from his training.

With no other options, Sakumo led Konoha's troops in a strategic retreat. The two battlefields were at a standstill, with neither side gaining a clear advantage.

The war had become a test of endurance. Both sides were waiting, watching to see who would fall first.

In the blink of an eye, a year passed. The war had lasted more than a year, and the battlefield had become a hell. Even newly graduated Genin had been sent to the front, without time to adapt to the horrors of war.

During this year, Chen finally mastered Sage Mode. Although he still couldn't enter instantly and needed more than ten seconds to gather natural energy, he was more than satisfied with himself. Those ten seconds were nothing compared to the power he gained.

When he entered Sage Mode, his face didn't show a dramatic change, but a blue lightning mark shone on his forehead, and a golden aura surrounded his entire body, radiating an imposing presence.

After this, he headed to the battlefield.

Upon arriving at the battlefield, he found a suitable place to sit.

The ninjas around immediately retreated, their gazes filled with fear and respect. No one wanted to be near him, as if his mere presence was enough to suffocate any intention of fighting.

"I don't understand why they fear you so much," murmured Inoichi.

"That's because they know what's good for them," Chen replied, his voice brimming with self-assurance. "I just have to sit here, and no one dares to approach. They can see that I'm different, that I'm at a level they can't aspire to even in their wildest dreams." Shaking his head with a smile that was the very reflection of narcissism.

Chen led his former classmates to the center of the battlefield, and there they sat as if nothing happened.

Within a one-kilometer radius, no Cloud ninja dared to take a single step toward where he was.

"Isn't it a bit... cowardly to just sit here doing nothing?" Chōza asked, scratching his head.

The doubt was clear in his voice.

Chen turned to him, his gaze filled with disdain. "Cowardly, Chōza? Do you want to die? Look around you! These ninjas, who are much stronger than you, fall within minutes. Sitting here isn't cowardice, it's intelligence. Surviving is the priority, and sometimes the best way to win is to do nothing," he said firmly as he turned his attention back to Konan to teach her new ninjutsu techniques.

Konan's talent was truly impressive. She was already capable of performing ninjutsu with surprising skill, and he was proud of her progress. However, he couldn't help but notice Konan's limitations due to her amount of chakra.
