Naruto: Our Goal Is To Dig Every Corner of Konoha

Chapter 853: Chapter 853 Another Soul Income

"We can't accept this request. We're not from this world, and our way of doing things is completely different from you Hollows. We can't and won't do what you do!"

Finn frowned and said firmly. The Hollows were known for their ruthless methods, often resorting to assassinations and any means necessary to achieve their goals. They would stop at nothing for the flame, which was not the way Finn and his companions operated.

Though they were not truly from this world, they had a deep sense of camaraderie. For them, becoming the Hollow King meant betraying their values and the trust they shared as a Familia. Finn simply couldn't allow that.

"You're really rejecting this? Why reject something that's only beneficial for you? You could lead all the Hollows! Our Hollow King is nothing like the Lords of Cinder. Yes, they are rulers, but in the end, they're just tools!"

"But becoming the Hollow King would let you do whatever you please. Even those as strong as the Lords of Cinder will fall! Hollows are nearly immortal, so why are you refusing such a position?"

Yuria couldn't fathom why anyone would turn down such an opportunity. If she had the qualifications, she would have accepted long ago. Why wait? Why refuse?

"I've made myself clear. We have different ideas. We, the Loki Familia, may not call ourselves saints, but we certainly won't hurt others for our own selfish gain. Our values are completely different from yours, and we won't change them. You can leave now!"

Finn's words were uncompromising. In the end, he and his companions were good people, no matter how harsh the world they lived in. There was no chance they would become leaders of a group like the Hollows. Could the Hollows even change their ways? Finn didn't believe so.

Finn's words left Yuria and her group speechless. They couldn't believe that people like Finn's group still existed in this world. Sure, good people did exist, but such convictions were rare, so rare, in fact, that they didn't know how to respond.

"Well, if that's how it is, there's nothing more to discuss. You'll stay here, then. After all, you know too much about our plans. If the Fire Keeper or Ludleth finds out, it would be disastrous for us!"

Yuria said helplessly. She was ready to resort to force now. If they wanted control of the flame, the Fire Keeper would never allow it. Even though the Fire Keeper had found a way to leave this world, she was still determined to fulfill her duties until the end.

The Fire Keeper was unlikely to succeed in her efforts, but she would try. If she learned of the Hollows' plans, it would make their invasion much harder.

"Should we settle this now? Hawkwood says these monsters' souls aren't enough. But yours look quite promising!"

Bete said with a menacing grin, clearly eager for the fight. He didn't care if these Hollows could revive, after all, if they did, he would just gather their souls again.

In short, the moment the Specters made their move, Bete and the others readied their weapons.

Yuria, despite her calm demeanor, was no pushover. She was about the strength of a Level 7 adventurer, capable of enduring blows from a Lord of Cinders in the later stages. Her resilience was remarkable.

Of course, killing her would result in the game dropping Yuria's ashes, as she had a special reason preventing her revival. Otherwise, most Hollows had the ability to resurrect.

Like Anri, an official ally, who had been impaled but returned after becoming the Hollow King. Anri's resurrection demonstrated that Hollows had a chance to revive, though not all Hollows were as fortunate.

The battle erupted with ferocity. Several Level 6 adventurers immediately engaged Yuria, while the others focused on dealing with the powerful Hollows. Though Yuria's group had strength, they couldn't put up much resistance against Finn's elite group.

Although Ais has just become LV6 not long ago, she has become a powerhouse thanks to her incredible stats. With Riveria providing potent ranged support, the battle gradually turned in favor of Finn's group. Yuria began to lose ground as the tide shifted against her.

Meanwhile, Bete and the others slaughtered Yuria's subordinates. Their strength had grown immensely since their arrival in this world, so it wasn't long before the entire group was wiped out.

Bete and his comrades absorbed a significant amount of souls from the fallen foes. The sight of these souls reminded them that their enemies had underestimated them.

Before Yuria could fully grasp how she had lost, she found herself overwhelmed. Her final thoughts were of disbelief. She realized she had underestimated this group, and the price for that was her life.

Perhaps, if they had targeted someone from the Freya Familia, their chances might have been better. But against Finn and his team, they stood no chance.

"These guys were loaded. The souls we've gathered here are more than we got from clearing out the tombs," Someone remarked, reflecting on the impressive strength of the Hollows and the unfortunate reality that their power had now become their group's gain.

With Yuria and her forces annihilated, Finn's group gathered the spoils and prepared for the next phase.

"Once we clear out the remaining demons down below, we can head back for some upgrades. After that, we'll take on the High Lord Wolnir!" Finn said, and the group agreed. Despite Wolnir's formidable title, they were confident he wouldn't pose much of a threat.

They pressed onward, deeper into the demon territory. Though the number of demons increased as they descended, none had the strength to pose a serious challenge. Finn's team dispatched them swiftly, cutting a path through their ranks.

However, things took a turn when they encountered an elder demon, a formidable Level 8 creature. This ancient demon, though weakened with age, still had significant power. The battle was intense, and Finn's group narrowly secured victory.

Had the demon been in better shape, they might have faced a disastrous defeat. In the end, luck was on their side, and they managed to defeat the creature without losing any lives, though the encounter served as a reminder of how dangerous their journey could become.
