Chapter 4: Team 7
Raizen wakes up early the morning after his graduation, the weight of the previous day still lingering in his mind. He stretches, rubbing the sleep from his eyes, before heading to the kitchen.
As he prepares to leave, Kakashi is already there, casually leaning against the counter, book in hand. Raizen blinks in confusion.
"You're up early," Raizen comments, slipping on his sandals.
"Mm." Kakashi hums without looking up. "Big day, after all."
Raizen raises an eyebrow but doesn't question it. Instead, he just grabs a piece of fruit and heads out, Kakashi following beside him.
He finds it odd that Kakashi is actually walking him to the Academy.
Normally, his father is off doing whatever high-ranking shinobi do. Still, Raizen shrugs it off, figuring there's no point in questioning things he won't get an answer to.
As they near the Academy, Kakashi finally speaks. "Don't be late."
Raizen rolls his eyes. "I'm already here, aren't I?"
Kakashi gives him a lazy wave before disappearing in a swirl of leaves.
Raizen exhales and turns toward the building, scanning the halls until he finds the classroom he's supposed to be in.
When he opens the door, the room is already filled with kids his age, chattering among themselves.
Nobody pays him much attention as he steps inside and takes the nearest empty seat at the front.
He leans back, arms crossed, scanning the room. He recognizes no one. Well, almost no one. The only familiar face is Iruka-sensei, who had spoken to him the most during his time at the Academy.
The rest? Just names and faces he never bothered to remember.
Loud voices pull his attention to the side. He turns to see a girl with pink hair arguing with a blonde-haired boy in an orange jumpsuit.
Something about the boy feels oddly familiar, and then it clicks—the blonde kid is the same one Raizen bumped into the other day.
Raizen watches them for a moment before sighing. Nobody else in the room seems to care about their bickering, too caught up in their own conversations.
Tired of waiting and wanting answers, Raizen pushes himself up and walks over to them.
"What's going on here?" he asks, looking between them.
The pink-haired girl's eyes widen for a split second, almost as if they just turned into hearts before she quickly composes herself.
Raizen catches it but doesn't comment. He has no idea what that was about. Meanwhile, Naruto narrows his eyes at him, clearly already annoyed.
Raizen tilts his head. "What are you looking at?"
Naruto stands up, his eyebrows furrowing like he's about to say something, but the girl cuts him off. "I'm Sakura! And shut up, Naruto!" she huffs, making Naruto groan in frustration.
"Tch. Whatever," Naruto mutters, crossing his arms.
Raizen nods slightly. "Raizen." He keeps it simple, not feeling the need for extra words.
"So what exactly are we doing here?" he asks again, wanting to get to the point.
Sakura shrugs. "Not sure. We just got told to show up after the graduation process."
Raizen hums in thought, glancing around at the other students. Whatever is happening today, it's clearly important. But he has no idea what to expect, and for now, all he can do is wait.
Raizen decides to stick with them for a while, listening to them bicker.
"Naruto!! move your ass, i want to sit on the other side of you!!" Sakura yells as she points to the seat next to Naruto.
Raizen looks at Naruto as he swipes his head to the left and he sees a young boy with black hair and a blue outfit on.
Raizen tilts his head at the young boy, not knowing why Sakura wants to sit next to him.
The realization and he smirks.
"Hehh... so that's your type?" Raizen laughs as he rests his hands on the top of his head.
Raizen looks at Sakura who is already blushing as she looks between Sasuke and Raizen.
"N-n-no it's not!" She yells
"yeah sure... doesn't look like that's going to happen anyway." Raizen shrugs as he looks at the boy; he can tell he's not interested whatsoever.
"What?!" She exclaims as her eyebrows furrow.
The boy notices all three of them looking at him.
"What," he says sharply and annoyed.
"What do you mean, what?!" Naruto yells before feeling his head hit the desk by small hands.
"Sasuke can i sit next to you?" Sakura practically yells.
"ugh..!"
Raizen begins to giggle as he watches the scene unfold, he just couldn't contain how funny this is to him.
Sakura finally sits next to the boy, Raizen now knows as Sasuke, as Naruto looks extremely annoyed.
Raizen goes and sits on the right of Naruto, instead of his original seat before.
Raizen looks around the classroom, knowing that iruka, is in the room, he's guessing that he's waiting for everybody to arrive so that they can begin, with whatever is going to happen.
Just as he's in thought in the corner of his eye he sees naruto appear out of nowhere in front of Sasuke.
Intrigued of what going to happen he watches.
"Naruto!! leave Sasuke alone!!" Sakura yells out.
"Move it!!" Sasuke yells.
"Grrr...!!" Naruto growls in response.
"Kick his ass Sasuke!" Raizen hears some classmates who finally started paying attention to the group.
"...No way! Really!" A voice says from behind Naruto.
Raizen watches as the voice of another boy bumps into the back of Naruto, lunging him forward.
The entire's class's eyes go wide.
Naruto and Sasuke kiss.
Raizen busts out laughing, he fell out of his chair. He couldn't stop; he knew something like that was bound to happen.
"What?!" Sakura yells.
"Naruto, you moron!! I'm going to kill you!!" Sasuke yells.
"Yuck! My mouth is rotting!!"
Raizen still on the floor still laughing, he wipes a tear that was threatening to fall.

An Hour Later
"Starting today, all of you are real shinobi. But you are still Genin... The hard journey that lies ahead has just started!" Iruka tells the whole class as he finally starts.
"Now you will son recieves missions to help the village. So today we will create the 3 man teams and each will have a Jounin Sensei."
He continues. "You will follow your sensei's instructions in order to successfully complete your missions."
'Oh... then... this is why dad came with me," Raizen couldn't hide his smile from appearing as he listens to what iruka is saying.
It's finally time to be on the same team as his dad. He's waited years for this.
"We tried to balance each team's strength."
As Iruka calls out the teams, he finally gets to the seventh team.
"Ok... Next is team seven. Raizen Hatake, Sasuke Uchiha, and Naruto Uzumaki."
"hmmm...." Raizen voices as he looks at his teams members, he doesn't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
