Naruto: Reborn as Yagura Karatachi

Two months later. October 10th.

Uchiha Obito successfully infiltrated the secret location where Uzumaki Kushina was giving birth, killing the Anbu guards sent by Konoha.

While Namikaze Minato's attention was focused on Kushina, Obito slaughtered the midwives—including Sarutobi Biwako—and took the newborn Naruto hostage.

Using the child as bait, he lured Minato away from the site.

A thunderous roar shattered the silence, the force of the sound wave dispersing the smoke to reveal the monstrous form of the Nine-Tails!

Obito stood up, his Sharingan gleaming as he shouted with venom in his voice,

"Go, Nine-Tails!!"

Bound by Obito's sealing technique and caught in the illusion of the Sharingan, the Nine-Tails' eyes spun with three tomoe, quickly stabilizing into a fixed pattern.

An older shinobi of Konoha gasped as recognition dawned.

"That... that's the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox!"

The Nine-Tails brought a massive claw crashing down, flattening everything in a wide arc. People and buildings were swept away like dust—the unsuspecting caught in its wrath, snuffed out before they even had a chance to react.

Its nine tails lashed out, smashing through structures with overwhelming force.

Claws slashed and swiped.

Each simple movement, powered by the beast's immense size and raw strength, unleashed catastrophic destruction upon the village.

Since being sealed into a jinchūriki of the Uzumaki clan, the Nine-Tails had never once broken free. This was entirely unprecedented.

Hiruzen squinted as he stared at the monstrous fox rampaging just beyond.

"So... it really is the Nine-Tails," he murmured bitterly. "Even with all the precautions, we still failed."

He dismissed the possibility that the failure had come from Minato's end.

This was Minato they were talking about. Hiruzen had been briefed in full on the defensive measures taken for Kushina's childbirth. There was no way they'd overlooked something.

Which meant the Nine-Tails had been forcibly extracted during the vulnerable moment of labor.

The only explanation: an unexpected enemy had intervened.

And worse, Minato hadn't been able to stop them in time.

The Nine-Tails had been pulled out. Kushina was now on borrowed time.

Which meant the midwife—his own wife, Biwako...

"Biwako..."

It wasn't just her.

The Nine-Tails was wreaking havoc in the most crucial area of the village. Even four years of the Third Great Ninja War hadn't reached Konoha's core.

"Third Hokage-sama!"

"I know!" Hiruzen snapped, throwing on his armor and glaring at the beast. "I'll hold the Nine-Tails back!"

"Third Hokage-sama—!"

The Anbu cut in again, panting.

"Something terrible has happened! Shinobi from Kumogakure and Kirigakure are advancing toward the village!"

Hiruzen's expression changed dramatically. "What?! What did you just say?!"

"Kumogakure and Kirigakure launched an attack just now!"

Kushina's due date had been exposed!

The Nine-Tails' rampage... was part of their scheme?!

They'd unleashed the beast to tie up Konoha's forces—and were now striking while the village was vulnerable!

Hiruzen didn't have time to unravel the entire conspiracy. Right now, his priority was protecting the village.

"How many troops?! Where are they now?! Speak!!"

"Kumogakure is being led personally by the Fourth Raikage and the Eight-Tails jinchūriki, Killer B. They've already broken through our outer defenses! Sensor teams estimate their forces number over ten thousand!"

"Kirigakure is led by the Fourth Mizukage! Around three thousand shinobi! But—our sensors also detected a tailed beast's chakra in their ranks, and..."

"You don't seem worried at all, Mizukage-sama," Orochimaru commented casually, walking beside Yagura.

The sudden escalation of the situation in Konoha brought a strange, bitter feeling to this former Sannin.

Four tailed beasts. Two Kage. Attacking Konoha at the same time.

A luxurious lineup, indeed.

How will you respond, Hiruzen-sensei?

Yet despite orchestrating this entire operation, Yagura showed no signs of excitement or urgency.

Reports had just come in—Kumogakure's Fourth Raikage had already reached Konoha's northern outskirts.

He and Killer B had left their slower main forces behind, seizing the fleeting opportunity to charge ahead and engage. Right now, they were battling Jiraiya and a Konoha unit.

Fortunately, Jiraiya had been staying in the village recently, giving Hiruzen someone powerful to deploy against the Raikage.

Compared to the aggressive advance of Kumogakure...

Yagura's Kirigakure forces were moving at a turtle's pace, slowly crossing the Land of Fire's border.

They continued sending small squads to raid outposts and destroy Konoha's footholds across the country—effectively erasing all of Minato's year-long efforts.

"I'm just here to tag along~ The Raikage is the main force," Yagura replied with a smile.

"Besides, with you in the ranks, Orochimaru, don't I have to at least leave some face for Konoha?"

Orochimaru didn't believe a single word.

Soon, Yagura's vanguard sensors returned with new intel.

As expected of the man known as the Yellow Flash—Minato had already resealed the Nine-Tails in a short amount of time.

Meanwhile, Jiraiya and the Konoha troops remained locked in fierce battle with Kumogakure's advance unit.

And against the Kirigakure army—

The Third Hokage himself was leading the charge, heading straight toward them.
