Chapter 211: Chapter 211 : Kabuto's Undead Army
Snap!
Kabuto clapped his hands together and used the Summoning: Impure World Reincarnation. In an instant, dozens of coffins shot up from the ground with a thunderous bang!
Thud... Thud... Thud...
Dozens of coffin lids dropped to the ground. Kabuto grinned smugly and began to announce with pride, "First, we have the original members of the Akatsuki: Sasori, Deidara, Kakuzu. Then the former Kage: the Second Tsuchikage, the Third Raikage, and the Fourth Kazekage.
Next, Explosion Release Gari, Demon Zabuza Momochi, Ice Release Haku, Hanzo of the Salamander, Chiyo, and Kimimaro of the Kaguya clan.
From Konohagakure, we have Asuma Sarutobi, Dan Kato, and Hizashi Hyuga."
Obito gave a slow nod, then narrowed his eyes. "And those behind them?"
Kabuto, like a collector showing off his prized possessions, replied, "These are all notable individuals, either with rare Kekkei Genkai or strong bloodlines. Just the right kind of pawns for war. And with the help of the White Zetsu Army—oh, and soon Yamato will be used to enhance their control."
Obito nodded, clearly satisfied. "Excellent. Kabuto, choosing to collaborate with you was indeed the right decision."
Kabuto gave a small, pleased smile. "I'm honored."
Obito walked toward Deidara's coffin. "Weren't some of them already summoned before? Why are they sealed again?"
Kabuto sighed. "Deidara kept demanding a rematch with Sasuke every day. He was too noisy, so I re-sealed him temporarily."
Obito couldn't help but chuckle—he knew Kabuto wasn't exaggerating. He knew Deidara's obsessive personality.
Then, his expression turned serious. "What if they regain their consciousness during battle? What if they act out like Deidara? Can you just re-seal them again?"
Kabuto answered confidently. "Don't worry. On the battlefield, I'll enforce direct control. Their wills will be suppressed completely. Even if their minds resist, their bodies will act according to my command."
Obito relaxed a bit. That was all he needed to hear.
Black Zetsu stood by, taking in the grand sight. "Quite the army you've assembled."
White Zetsu turned his head. "Oh! Sasuke-kun is here!"
The clicking sound of wooden sandals echoed as Sasuke emerged from the shadows.
Black Zetsu stared, satisfied. The Rinnegan, glowing ominously, was in Sasuke's left eye—just like Madara.
In fact, Madara had only awakened his Rinnegan after years of planning, with Black Zetsu guiding him from the shadows. Obito had unknowingly passed the torch to Sasuke, with Black Zetsu orchestrating everything from behind.
Sasuke glanced around, noting the forest of coffins. His heart skipped a beat—he was looking for him.
But he wasn't there.
Sasuke's sharp eyes turned to Obito. "Obito, knowing you, there's no way you didn't retrieve Itachi's body after he died. Kabuto, you revived Deidara and the others. Where is Itachi?"
Kabuto smiled slyly. "You'll have to ask your dear brother Naruto."
Sasuke frowned. "What does this have to do with him?"
Obito answered, "We had Itachi's body. He was going to be revived with the others. But we ran into Naruto, and he took Itachi's reincarnated body."
Kabuto added, "Judging by my severed chakra connection, Naruto must have destroyed the reanimated Itachi. I no longer sense his soul."
Obito sighed. "I had hoped the two of you would meet again."
Sasuke closed his eyes, his face twisted in suppressed anger. He had wanted to show Itachi how far he'd come—how he now wielded power that could crush Konoha. He wanted Itachi to see the flames engulfing the village, to watch him avenge his brother. The vision of standing atop the Hokage Monument with his brother by his side, both watching Konoha burn... it was almost intoxicating.
Lost in that dark fantasy, a familiar voice chirped up.
"Sasuke-kun! You're walking too fast—I can't keep up…"
Karin jogged in, her red hair bouncing. As she entered, she froze.
Her wide eyes scanned the room. "So many coffins… What the hell is this? These ninja… they're all supposed to be dead!"
Kabuto chuckled. "Karin, don't be so surprised. These are my masterpieces."
Karin frowned. "Only you could do something like this, besides Orochimaru."
Kabuto grinned. "I'm honored to be compared to Lord Orochimaru."
Sasuke looked at Obito. "Are we moving out?"
Obito smiled. "Yes."
Karin said, "Jugo and Suigetsu are still outside. Should we find them before we go?"
Sasuke furrowed his brow.
White Zetsu chimed in, "I know where they are. I can take you to them."
Obito nodded. "Perfect. Sasuke, I'll take you to reunite with your Taka team. Let the hawk take flight once more."
Sasuke gave a sharp snort.
Obito turned to Kabuto. "Then let it begin—the Fourth Great Ninja War!"
With a spiraling swirl of his Kamui, Obito, Sasuke, and Karin disappeared.
Black Zetsu and White Zetsu melted into the earth.
Kabuto turned to Yamato. He had already been biologically integrated into a wooden structure, his cells linked to the artificial roots connected to the White Zetsu army.
"As expected, the cells of Hashirama Senju merge smoothly. With Yamato as the catalyst, I can enhance their functionality."
He formed a hand seal. The army's biological synchronization began.
Meanwhile, more than ten miles away from the hideout...
Mitarashi Anko and her reconnaissance team, operating under the Hokage's orders, were tracking Kabuto's whereabouts.
"Anko, you need to rest. You'll burn out at this pace."
Anko shook her head. "No. The war is starting soon. If we fail to provide intel and our comrades die because of it, I'll never forgive myself."
Her voice was firm, eyes blazing with determination.
Shino Aburame knelt, placing his palm on the ground. White insects crawled from the soil into his hand. He leaned close, interpreting their signals.
"They've detected unusual movement underground. Several entities—strong ones."
He turned to another teammate. "Dekai Hyuga, use your Byakugan to confirm. Four o'clock direction."
Anko nodded. "Please, Dekai."
Dekai nodded, inhaled deeply, and activated his Byakugan.
The world before him shifted into clarity. Through layer upon layer of soil, his gaze pierced down… until he saw it.
Beneath the earth, countless figures. Humanoid. White. Endless.
"This... This is...!" Dekai's face went pale.
What he had seen wasn't just a nest. It was an army—thousands of White Zetsu, all lying in wait beneath the earth, like a virus ready to erupt.
The war had truly begun.
