Chapter 230: Chapter 230 : Battlefield Situation
Killer Bee had directly transformed into the Eight Tails. The Tailed Beast Eight-Fold Technique was unleashed, and an immense wave of chakra burst forth!
Perception Intelligence Center
Ao closed his eyes, focusing intently as he used the Water Sensing Spheres to monitor the status across various battlefields.
Suddenly, the water sphere rippled violently. Ao frowned. "Killer Bee has transformed into his full-tailed beast form. I can feel the immense chakra of the Eight Tails. And Naruto... Nine Tails' chakra is also present!"
Shikaku Nara looked up. "Any signs of advantage on that battlefield?"
Ao replied, "So far, Naruto and Killer Bee aren't at a disadvantage. In fact, they just clashed for a moment."
Tsunade clenched her fists against her chest, brows furrowed. "Ao, send the coordinates to Jiraiya."
Raikage A looked toward Tsunade.
She added, "Either way, Jiraiya is heading to the battlefield to assist Naruto and Killer Bee. With him there, I feel more at ease."
Raikage A nodded. After all, his younger brother was out there.
As one of the Legendary Sannin, according to Kumogakure's intelligence over the years, Raikage A knew Jiraiya had almost no weaknesses. If he wanted ninjutsu, he had a full arsenal. In terms of physical combat, sealing techniques, strategy, or even Sage Mode—Jiraiya could handle it all.
If he hadn't avoided politics, he would've been the perfect Hokage.
Even though he lost an arm during the infiltration of Amegakure, he had recovered. Jiraiya's return brought Raikage a sense of relief.
Reflecting further, Raikage often wondered. He had analyzed Jiraiya's rescue and Naruto's movement pattern. If Naruto hadn't rushed straight from the Land of Iron, Jiraiya might not have been saved!
This left Raikage with lingering doubts: Could Naruto see the future? Everything he did seemed so calculated, as if he anticipated every outcome.
"Ao, report on the other major battlefronts," Tsunade ordered.
Ao nodded, gesturing to the sensory ninjas monitoring each unit.
"First Unit," one sensory ninja began, "has reached the designated beach. Captain Darui is establishing a defensive line."
"Second Unit," another reported, "has also arrived. Captain Kitsuchi is organizing the formation."
"Third Unit, led by Kakashi Hatake," a third ninja reported, "has progressed smoothly due to Naruto's assistance. Four reanimated enemies have already been sealed, and they are advancing toward Akatsuki's base."
"Fourth Unit, under Gaara's command, is advancing well and nearing their target location. No enemy encounters so far."
"Fifth Unit has been reorganized," another added. "Captain Mifune is advancing with the samurai forces."
Tsunade and Raikage A nodded in unison. The situation was progressing favorably. The five major divisions of the Allied Shinobi Forces had completed the encirclement—and Naruto and Killer Bee were already within that perimeter.
Ao continued, "Additionally, the Surprise Attack Division, led by Kankuro, has captured the reanimated Deidara. Two others, Kakuzu and Sasori, have self-detonated and dispersed. Shin has also been neutralized."
Shikaku nodded as he studied the map. "Hokage-sama, Raikage-sama, we are still in control. The enemy has not launched a full-scale assault."
Tsunade nodded and then asked, "Shikaku, how is the placement of the daimyō proceeding?"
Raikage turned to listen carefully—after all, the daimyo of the Land of Lightning was among them.
Shikaku smiled. "It's proceeding in an orderly fashion. The Mizukage is personally overseeing the escort."
"That's good," Tsunade said.
With the five great nations working together, internal safety was manageable. But for an organization like Akatsuki, attacking the daimyō to disrupt the alliance was entirely within reason. Thus, during the Five Kage Summit, this issue had been heavily prioritized.
Multiple hidden, rotating safehouses were arranged.
Land of Water Escort
The daimyo of the Land of Water sat inside a palanquin. Lifting the curtain, he said apologetically, "I'm sorry to trouble you with a personal escort."
Mizukage Terumi Mei smiled softly. "It's my duty, Lord Daimyō."
Though equal in political rank, during wartime the Mizukage, as the military representative, took precedence in matters of protection.
Behind her, Chōjūrō remained vigilant, constantly on alert.
The reason: Black Zetsu. According to intelligence, he could phase through the earth and travel unnoticed, bypassing almost all sensory ninja.
Thus, elite Anbu from each village were deployed to guard the daimyō.
From the trees nearby, a rustle echoed.
Black Zetsu poked his head out from the roots of a tree.
"Hehehe, so it's here. That was easy. If I track this one, the rest of the daimyō will follow. Once we've got them, we can manipulate the Allied Forces..."
With that, he sank underground and vanished.
The moment he disappeared, Mizukage Terumi Mei smirked slightly.
This forest sat in a natural basin, full of underground water currents. Kirigakure's sensory techniques were renowned.
From Nagato's Rain Tiger at Will Technique, to the Water Sphere Sensory Technique of the Allied Forces, to the reanimated ninja from Kirigakure—every technique highlighted the Mist's mastery of perception.
Terumi Mei had been communicating with the underground water since they entered the forest. Tree roots pulled water from underground—any fluctuation of chakra in that zone would trigger her awareness.
She had anticipated this ambush.
But she didn't panic.
Because the daimyō she was escorting... was not the real one.
It was a Kirigakure ninja in disguise. The real daimyō had already been moved.
Building a bridge on the surface and hiding a warehouse beneath—while Black Zetsu followed the decoy, they were one step ahead.
Akatsuki Base
White Zetsu rushed into the chamber and addressed Kabuto.
"Sasuke and Obito have already engaged Naruto."
Kabuto narrowed his eyes. "How did you bypass my barrier?"
White Zetsu shrugged. "I used the underground snake tunnels you created."
Seeing Kabuto's annoyed face, White Zetsu added, "Come on, Kabuto. You know me. I'm not a combat type—I'm just good at moving around. No need to be so defensive."
Kabuto considered his words, then snorted and reached for a bowl beside him, grabbing a handful of shogi pieces.
"The show is about to begin."
He stared at the board, eyes gleaming with anticipation.
