Naruto: Reborn With An AI Chip

Chapter 23: New Jutsu

Boom! Boom!

"Kill! Kill!"

As the two armies clashed, the once calm and beautiful night turned dark and foreboding. The killing intent in the air was so thick, it felt almost visible to the naked eye.

On the tragic battlefield, war unfolded in a strange balance of chaos and order. It was a maelstrom of blood, steel, and jutsu—yet even within the storm, there pulsed a grim, almost unnatural rhythm of balance.

Both sides pushed their abilities to the limit, doing everything in their power to cut down the enemy. In war, there is no right or wrong—no lofty ideals; there are only interests and benefits.

That's why most shinobi followed their leaders' commands not out of honor, but out of necessity. For many, survival was the only goal. Unless it was to protect themselves or their villages, there was no noble purpose in taking a life.

In this shinobi war, destruction was not a byproduct—it was the intended outcome of every move they made.

Both sides unleashed their most powerful techniques—using everything at their disposal to kill, to survive, and to seize victory at any cost.

"Boar! Dog! Rooster! Monkey! Sheep!"

Dozens of Mist-nin bit their thumbs and slammed their palms to the ground in perfectly synchronized order.

"Summoning Technique!"

Puffff!

Clouds of white mist exploded across the battlefield, and in an instant, the air was choked with thick fog. When it finally began to clear, dozens of summoned beasts had appeared—sharks, swordfish, flying fish, and even a few massive orcas loomed over the chaos, ready to strike.

"Attack!"

As the Mist-nin completed their summons, the beasts surged into the battlefield, tearing through the Konoha ranks and unleashing chaos and death wherever they went.

"Get off me!"

"Ahhh!"

"Damn it! Let's kill the one on the right!"

The Konoha forces fell into disarray—especially the weaker and injured ninjas, who were nearly overwhelmed or devoured by the rampaging sea beasts.

These creatures were stronger and more resilient than any human—especially in their natural aquatic environment. Had the battle taken place on solid ground, they wouldn't have been nearly as effective. But the Mist-nin had turned the Konoha camp into a man-made lagoon, creating the perfect battlefield for their summons.

With terrifying physical power, the sea beasts crashed through defensive lines, leaving trails of devastation and inflicting massive casualties on the Konoha side.

But then—the Uchiha Clan stepped forward.

Led by Uchiha Fugaku himself, a formation of elite Uchiha quickly gathered and began forming joint hand seals.

"Snake! Sheep! Monkey! Boar! Horse! Tiger!"

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

Boom! Boom!

A dozen searing fireballs erupted from their mouths. The blazing inferno roared across the field, merging into a wall of fire that engulfed the summoned beasts. Screeches echoed as the flames devoured their flesh. In seconds, the sea beasts were reduced to ashes.

On the other side, because of the surprise attack by the Mist-nin, the Konoha forces were at an absolute disadvantage in terms of numbers and could only fight to resist the assault.

Some of the Mist-nin, seeing that they held a numerical advantage, set their sights on attacking another of Konoha's powerful elite clans—the Hyuga.

Unfortunately for them, they chose the wrong target. The Hyuga Clan remained utterly indifferent to the surrounding siege. When the Mist-nin closed in—

"Eight Trigrams: Rotation!"

A dome of chakra exploded outward, repelling all attackers like twigs in a hurricane.

Although the two clans performed brilliantly on the battlefield, Konoha as a whole remained at a critical disadvantage. They were completely suppressed and outnumbered by the Mist.

"Push them back!"

A high-ranking Konoha commander's desperate voice echoed across the chaos.

Even though they were outnumbered, the Konoha shinobi had no intention of giving up—because for them, giving up simply wasn't an option.

The order was met with unwavering resolve—none of Konoha's shinobi retreated. But bravery alone could not shift a losing battle.

Unfortunately, the gap between the two sides was simply too vast. For Konoha, even stabilizing the situation was already an achievement. As for turning the tide—they simply lacked the manpower.

However, the situation was gradually improving. Those who had been washed away by the flood and survived were now beginning to return to the camp and rejoin the battle.

With the return of these ninjas, the Mist still held the upper hand in battlefield control—but Konoha was no longer in full retreat. They were holding their ground—barely—but holding nonetheless.

Among them was Zeri's Team: Renjiro, Maemon, Meri, and Zeri himself.

The four had been swept kilometers away by the Great Waterfall Jutsu, but thanks to the rope that bound them together, they hadn't been separated. After escaping the current and resting briefly, they returned to find the camp in ruins and the war raging at full force.

As soon as the four returned, they were thrust straight into the brutal battle. But in the grand scale of the battlefield, the arrival of Zeri's team caused barely a ripple.

Dragged into the chaos, the four members of Team Zeri could do little but flow with the tides of war. With their current strength, survival alone was an achievement. As for turning the tide of battle—that responsibility belonged to those strong enough to bear it.

But to those they saved and supported—it meant survival.

Renjiro, as always, switched into full combat mode. He activated Observation Haki Mode and Arkain's Combat Assistance Mode, scanning threats in real time and issuing commands.

"Sensei! Incoming from the left!" Renjiro shouted.

In his slowed perception mode, not a single attack escaped his eyes—every movement, every ripple, every flicker was crystal clear.

"Got it!" Zeri reacted instantly. He was well aware of Renjiro's hypersensitive perception, so he followed the warning without a moment's hesitation.

"Maemon! Watch out—two more enemies are hiding in the water to your left!"

"Meri, back up Maemon! The enemies are all Genin!"

Renjiro was the brain of the team—coordinating, supporting, and constantly scanning for threats. His precise predictions guided them like water through the chaos, allowing them to move fluidly across the battlefield, never caught off guard or overwhelmed by the Mist-nin.

Then—through the chaos, Renjiro saw him. Cutting down enemy after enemy with blinding speed, a whirlwind of precision and power.

It was Uchiha Shisui—the pride of the Uchiha clan, and the most gifted shinobi of his generation.

In that moment, Renjiro understood why they called him Shisui of the Body Flicker. His movements were so fast, so fluid, they nearly rivaled Minato's—at least in short-range combat.

Of course, Minato's Flying Raijin Jutsu was in a league of its own, allowing him to teleport instantly to any location marked with his seal, no matter the distance.

"Shisui of the Body Flicker... his nickname speaks for itself." Renjiro muttered to himself.

To Renjiro, Shisui wasn't just fast—he was inhumanly fast. He didn't move like a man. He moved like a phantom, gliding through the battlefield and claiming lives like a ghost harvesting souls.

No matter who he faced, Shisui was always one step ahead—striking down his enemies before they even had a chance to react.

With speed like his, strength hardly mattered. Whether it was a Genin, a Chunin, or even a Special Jonin—they all fell the same under Shisui's relentless, instantaneous assaults.

He didn't leave enemies alive—not even to suffer. Just one flash, one cut, and then… darkness.

Even some Jonin couldn't react in time to stop him from killing their subordinates.

"This isn't normal…" Renjiro thought, narrowing his eyes.

He had been watching Shisui's movements carefully—and some of his attacks, by all logic, should have been dodged. Yet none of his enemies ever did.

"Genjutsu…" Renjiro murmured, realizing there was only one explanation—a technique that could stop an enemy from dodging without them even knowing they were caught.

That was his secret. Shisui combined his Body Flicker with Genjutsu—catching his targets in subtle illusions that slowed their minds just enough for him to strike first.

It wasn't just about speed—it was the flawless manipulation of perception and movement. A masterclass in both deception and mobility.

Even Arkain issued a serious warning when Renjiro's team got too close to Shisui mid-attack on a Mist-nin: [Warning! High-level Threat Detected! Recommended Course: Do not engage!]

Not that it mattered—Shisui never paused. He tore through the battlefield like a scythe through wheat, vanishing just as swiftly, barely sparing Renjiro and his team a single glance.

"That's… what a real shinobi looks like…" Renjiro's heart filled with awe and shock.

He watched Shisui disappear into the battlefield, killing one enemy every ten steps, and couldn't help but sigh.

"If only I had a high-speed movement technique like that…" Renjiro muttered bitterly: "With my Observation Haki Mode and Mind Net, as long as I avoided provoking a Special Jonin or stronger, I could dominate the battlefield too—just like Shisui…"

He was especially envious of Shisui's Body Flicker Jutsu. That kind of speed, precision, and battlefield dominance—it perfectly embodied the fighting style Renjiro envisioned for himself.

[Beep! Long-term Mission: Taijutsu — Progress Milestone Reached!]

[Although the mission is not yet complete, current progress has unlocked a new Taijutsu technique compatible with the Host's combat profile.]

[New technique is now available for upload.] Arkain's mechanical voice suddenly rang in Renjiro's mind.

Renjiro blinked in confusion: "What did you say?"

[Beep! Seeking High-speed Mobility Technique... Solution Compiled!]

[Beep! Result: Speed Mobility Taijutsu Technique—Ready for transmission.]

"W-Wait! You've developed a new Taijutsu technique for me to move like that?" Renjiro asked quickly after snapping back to his senses.

[Beep! Affirmative!] Arkain confirmed.

"Holy hell…" Renjiro's heart trembled.

He had dreamed of this moment for so long—and after witnessing Shisui's blinding speed firsthand, his desire for such a Taijutsu had only grown stronger. But he never expected it to come this soon.

"Transmit it—now!" Renjiro shouted inwardly, without hesitation.
