Chapter 29: 29
If a person loses to the same opponent no less than ten times in a row, then that opponent is undoubtedly a master—like his brother, Uchiha Madara.
However, even Madara himself couldn't guarantee that he would only ever lose by just half a step each time.
Yet, Kenichi could.
Every time Izuna fought him, he would only ever lose by half a move.
If it had happened once or twice, Izuna could have blamed it on luck.
But after ten consecutive defeats, there was only one explanation.
Kenichi was far stronger than him.
So strong that no matter what Izuna tried, he would always lose by just half a step.
"Boss, there's something I don't understand."
"Hmm?" Kenichi waved his hand dismissively.
"How many times have I told you, stop calling me 'boss' all the time? Just call me Kenichi."
He looked at Izuna—the man he had spent a fortune resurrecting.
If it weren't for Ishiwaka Ramen evolving into the Ishiwaka Hotel and attracting wealthy nobles, there was no way he could have revived Izuna in such a short time.
"What's wrong? What don't you understand?"
Izuna took a deep breath and asked the question that had been bothering him.
"Kenichi… you are incredibly strong. So why do you choose to stay here and play the role of a businessman?"
"With your power, you could establish your own empire and dominate the world."
Kenichi smiled, shaking his head.
"You still don't get it, do you?"
He sighed and leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table.
"Izuna, it's been a while since you were resurrected. Haven't you noticed? The ninja world today is not the same as the era you lived in."
Izuna frowned.
"The Warring States Period is over. Now, this is the era of Ninja Villages.
The Five Great Nations each have their own hidden villages.
Even some smaller nations have shinobi villages of their own.
"If you go out right now and try to claim land for yourself, do you think the world will let you?
No—they'll immediately send shinobi to kill you."
As he spoke, Kenichi dipped his fingers in tea and drew a crude map of the ninja world on the expensive wooden table.
"And don't forget… the daimyos of the great nations are connected."
"Even if you're strong enough to fight against one Hidden Village… what about two?
What about three?"
Izuna fell silent.
For the first time, he was seriously reflecting on how much the world had changed.
Kenichi chuckled at Izuna's deep thought.
"That's why I said—times have changed.
Back in the Warring States Period, what did the clans fight over?
Land, resources, and money."
Kenichi gestured at the luxurious hotel around them.
"Look at me now.
I already have money.
I already have resources.
And I didn't have to fight a single battle to get them."
"But Kenichi… you already have so much money."
Izuna was still confused.
"Why do you keep making more?"
Kenichi laughed.
"Oh, Izuna… who ever has 'enough' money?
And besides…"
He leaned closer, his voice lowering.
"I'm different from you.
Money isn't just for comfort—it has a special use for me.
For example…"
Kenichi smirked.
"I resurrected you… with money."
Izuna froze.
Kenichi saw his hands tremble slightly.
"Don't you want to see your brother alive again?"
Izuna's eyes widened.
Or…
Kenichi's smile turned devious.
"Maybe you'd like me to resurrect that guy, Tobirama, so you can finally settle things?"
"You can really… bring my brother back?"
Izuna's voice shook with emotion.
"Of course," Kenichi shrugged. "Why would I lie?
You were dead, weren't you? And yet, here you are."
Izuna's breath hitched.
If he could be revived…
Then…
"My brother… my brother can come back too!"
Excitement swelled within him.
But at the same time, a deep unease settled in.
He looked at Kenichi and cautiously asked:
"Kenichi… if it's okay with you… can you tell me how you brought me back?"
His hands clenched into fists.
"But… if it's a secret, I won't ask."
Kenichi smirked.
"It's not really a secret.
This is just my unique ability.
As long as I have enough money, I can do things that should be impossible—like bringing the dead back to life."
Izuna's eyes widened even further.
"Is there really… such a bloodline ability?"
He was stunned.
As a Uchiha, he knew the ninja world was full of mysterious abilities—but this was on another level.
"Well, you can think of it like a Kekkei Genkai," Kenichi said casually. "Just roll with it."
While the two were talking, the hotel doors swung open.
A group of samurai in traditional armor walked in.
Kenichi's eyebrows rose slightly.
They didn't go to the front desk. Instead, they lined up at the entrance, standing in two neat rows.
A moment later, two servants rushed in, rolling out a red carpet.
Kenichi instantly knew who had arrived.
He shot Izuna a look, motioning for him to head to the back.
Then, Kenichi personally walked to the entrance.
A wealthy nobleman stepped out of a carriage, his face filled with pride.
The noble turned and helped a woman in an extravagant kimono step down from the carriage.
His face overflowed with flattery.
"Miss Yukiko, please watch your step."
The woman—Mikiko—entered the hotel with graceful, deliberate steps.
Kenichi bowed slightly.
"Young Master Nakamura, I am honored by your presence."
Nakamura grinned.
"Kenichi, allow me to introduce Miss Mikiko—the newly crowned courtesan of Hanadaichi Town.
I paid quite a fortune to secure an evening with her."
Kenichi's eyes flickered.
"Ah, so she's the most beautiful courtesan in town, huh?"
He subtly examined Mikiko from the corner of his eye.
She had a stunning figure, a graceful posture, and a delicate beauty that clearly enchanted the nobleman beside her.
"Not bad, Nakamura. You have good taste."
He gestured toward the private rooms.
"Right this way, please. I will make sure you two have an unforgettable evening."
As he led them inside, he secretly gave Nakamura a thumbs-up.
Nakamura grinned smugly.
But then…
Izuna appeared behind him, whispering quietly.
"Kenichi… if I'm not mistaken…
That woman…
She's from the Land of Lightning."
