Chapter 162: Chapter 162: The Rogue Ninja, Sarutobi Asuma

After playing around with Kurenai, Rin, Anko, and Yugao for a while, Mirai finally turned serious.

"Why are all of you here looking for me at once?" he asked.

Kurenai snorted softly. "Rin and I are about to take the Jonin Exam. We were hoping you could give us some pointers."

"Do you even care about us at all? How could you not know something this important?"

Mirai scratched the back of his head awkwardly.

Lately, he'd been so engrossed with Konan and Mikoto that he'd admittedly neglected the younger girls. He sighed inwardly—self-reflection was in order.

After all, he was a man dedicated to spreading universal love. Such neglect was unacceptable.

While Mirai was lost in thought, Kurenai pouted and added, "It's all my dad's fault. If he'd just let me move out and live with you, none of this would've happened."

Mirai clicked his tongue and silently mourned for Shinku Yuhi.

Daughters really are impossible to hold on to as they grow up.

Better steer clear of him for a while, he thought with a wry smile.

Shaking off those thoughts, Mirai turned to Yugao and Anko.

"Don't tell me you two are taking the Jonin Exam as well."

Anko burst into laughter. "Not at all, sleazy senior. We're here for the Chunin Exams."

"This time, participants from Sunagakure, Kumogakure, Kirigakure, Iwagakure, and even some smaller villages are joining. We can't let Konoha lose face!"

At her words, Mirai suddenly remembered. The Chunin Exams were only days away. He'd been so busy lately that it had completely slipped his mind.

Looking at Yugao, he raised an eyebrow. "You're an ANBU member. Are you really participating in the Chunin Exams?"

Yugao nodded. "I'm still a genin. It's only reasonable to aim for promotion."

Seeing their eager faces, Mirai shrugged. "Alright. Since you're all so sincerely asking for help, I'll be magnanimous and train you."

"But let me warn you first—I'm a tough teacher. Be ready for some harsh lessons."

He ran a hand through his hair and added dramatically, "There are no shortcuts to becoming stronger as a ninja."

Kurenai, Rin, Anko, and Yugao nodded enthusiastically. Receiving guidance from someone like Mirai was a dream come true for many. A little hardship was a small price to pay.

Yugao, however, hesitated. Watching Mirai's serious demeanor, her mind flashed back to the last time he "trained" her in swordsmanship.

This time, she thought, glancing at her companions, at least I won't be alone. Surely he won't do anything too embarrassing with the others around.

Three days passed in a blur.

As Mirai watched the girls stumble away, clutching their gear, he couldn't help shaking his head.

So inexperienced, he mused. They're like unbloomed buds, still so tender.

He'd barely even pushed them, yet they were already red-faced and flustered.

When it comes to unwinding, he thought, Mikoto and Konan are still the best options.

Of course, it wasn't all just fun and games. Over the past few days, the girls had shown significant progress under his tutelage.

Yugao now had the strength to rival some elite chunin, while Anko wasn't far behind and had reached a solid chunin level.

As for Kurenai and Rin…

Kurenai, with her talent in genjutsu, had reached special jonin level but wasn't quite ready for the full Jonin Exam. Rin's medical expertise was excellent, but her combat abilities lagged slightly, putting her closer to Yugao's level.

Still, this was only temporary.

They're my women, Mirai thought smugly. Of course, they'll grow into powerful kunoichi that others can only dream of having.

After glancing at the noon sun, Mirai activated the Flying Thunder God Technique, reappearing in the Hokage's office.

Opening the lunchbox Mikoto had lovingly prepared, he was greeted with an appetizing aroma. Over time, Mikoto's cooking had improved immensely, even surpassing his own. She'd even developed creative dishes tailored to his tastes.

As Mirai enjoyed his meal, a knock came from the office door.

"Come in," he said.

Nara Shikaku stepped inside. "Mirai-sama, Sarutobi Asuma has gone missing."

Mirai raised an eyebrow. "What happened?"

Shikaku's tone was grim. "Over two weeks ago, Asuma took on a mission to escort a merchant caravan. The caravan reached its destination safely, but Asuma hasn't returned to file the mission report.

"We investigated and learned he was last seen in a small border town within the Land of Fire."

Shikaku fell silent, awaiting Mirai's response.

To his surprise, Mirai's reaction was calm. "Follow the standard protocol."

"Declare Sarutobi Asuma a rogue ninja and issue a wanted notice to the ninja world."

Shikaku nodded. "Understood."

As Shikaku left, Mirai leaned back in the Hokage's chair, gazing out at the bustling streets below.

In the original timeline, Asuma had also left the village but retained his status as a Konoha ninja, going on to serve as one of the Twelve Guardian Ninja of the Land of Fire.

He'd even earned a bounty of 35 million ryo.

This time, however, Asuma would be branded a rogue ninja. Mirai was curious to see where this path would lead him.

"Without the protection of your father's title, Asuma, how far can you go?"

Mirai smirked to himself. "I can't wait to find out."

Suddenly, he sensed the summoning of a Flying Thunder God mark. In the blink of an eye, he vanished from the office.
