-------------------------------------------------------------
Nightfall approached, and hidden threats lurking in the darkness grew restless.
"Swish! Swish! Swish!"
In the silent forest, several senbon needles shot out from a concealed corner, their sharp glints flashing in the dim light.
The next moment, a group of figures hidden in another part of the forest was struck before they could react, collapsing to the ground.
"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"
A few nimble, masked figures appeared on the scene, their faces emotionless. At their forefront stood a short ninja with a blank expression, his pale purple eyes gazing down at the fallen corpses. His voice was calm as he spoke.
"Has Konoha's strength fallen to such a pitiful level? It seems the Mist's decision to join this war was a very wise choice."
Hearing his words, the other Mist Ninjas beside him smirked cruelly and replied respectfully.
"Lord Yagura, it seems we now have a great chance to rise to the top of the Five Great Shinobi Villages!"
Yagura's expression remained calm as he stared into the shadowy forest ahead, his eyes gleaming with an inscrutable light.
"Perhaps," he said softly.
"But don't get careless. Aside from Konoha, there are also the Cloud Ninjas to contend with. They're not an easy enemy."
The group behind him nodded solemnly.
Moments later, they disappeared, leaving behind only the bodies of fallen Konoha ninjas, a grim reminder of the fragility of life in war.
---
The addition of the Mist Ninjas had plunged the battlefield into further chaos, though most were unaware of this shift.
Elsewhere, ninjas clashed ferociously on another battleground. At the same time, more fighters from various directions were converging on the site with unspoken coordination.
Under the shade of darkening trees, two figures walked slowly along a flat path.
A voice full of complaint broke the silence.
"Lord Aizen, why am I the one carrying this guy?"
The speaker, a silver-haired man clad in a white haori, had a look of grievance as he carried a disheveled monk on his shoulder. He directed his grumbling at the man walking ahead of him.
Aizen didn't turn around. With a faint smile curling at the corner of his lips, his rich voice replied.
"Gin, you should learn to show gratitude. The fact that you're here at all is thanks to his power."
Gin's eyebrows twitched slightly, his narrowed eyes gleaming with resigned amusement. He sighed softly and said.
"Honestly, wouldn't it be more convenient for Zetsu to carry him? After all, your plan doesn't involve making him visible to everyone, does it? And who is this 'Madara' Zetsu keeps mentioning, someone you seem to hold in such high regard?"
Curiosity glinted in Gin's fox-like eyes as he looked at Aizen.
Aizen maintained his serene smile, raising his head slightly to glance at the darkening sky. His deep eyes flickered as he replied in a soft tone.
"An interesting fellow. A ninja who dreams of transcending life and death to change this world."
Gin's lips curled into a playful smirk as he chuckled.
"Oh my, such an ambitious person. Would you really destroy someone like that, Lord Aizen? I thought you might take him under your wing. After all, isn't changing the world your goal as well?"
Aizen cast a sidelong glance at Gin, his faint smile unwavering as he replied.
"Gin, do you believe everything I say?"
Gin blinked, momentarily taken aback. Then, with a slight shake of his head and a sly smile, he said.
"Lord Aizen, knowing you as I do, I'd say I don't take your words at face value."
Aizen seemed unbothered by this, his smile remaining as he spoke.
"Gin, saying such things to me… Aren't you worried I might kill you for it?"
Though his voice remained calm, there was a faint, detached coldness beneath his words.
Gin's expression froze ever so slightly before he laughed lightly, his tone playful.
"If that were the case, there'd be no point in you bringing me to this world in the first place, right?"
Aizen turned away, his voice soft but firm as he said.
"You're as bold as ever, Gin."
"But you're not wrong. All this talk of pursuing peace… it's just meaningless rhetoric."
"The truth is, this world lacks faith. If you can give people a beautiful illusion to believe in, it becomes much easier to manipulate them."
Gin's face lit up with a fox-like grin as he said teasingly.
"Lord Aizen, you're so cold-hearted. You don't even hesitate to deceive your loyal followers."
Aizen's smile didn't waver as he responded calmly.
"You've known that from the start, haven't you?"
Gin's footsteps faltered briefly before he resumed walking, his voice quieter now.
"Regardless, without Rangiku in this world, I'll never view you the same way again."
His eyes lowered slightly, as if lost in thought.
Aizen glanced at him briefly before turning his gaze forward, speaking in a soft, steady voice.
"Don't worry. We'll return someday."
With that, Aizen continued walking, his pace unhurried. Gin stood frozen for a moment, staring at his back in silence.
Rangiku… Will we meet again someday?
---
Elsewhere, in an open clearing littered with corpses, the stench of blood filled the air.
"Splash!"
A young man stepped forward, his expression cold and unyielding as he walked through a crimson pool of blood without hesitation.
His black hair partially obscured his forehead, and beneath his bangs, his crimson eyes glowed faintly.
After a moment of silence, he spoke in a chilling voice.
"Senju Nawaki, you must have met my brother at Hueco Mundo."
Not far behind him, a composed young man with a solemn expression stood silently, his brown eyes reflecting the blood-soaked ground.
At the mention of his name, Nawaki's face remained expressionless. He replied calmly.
"I met Uchiha Shino once when I was very young, accompanied byLord Aizen. I haven't seen him since."
The black-haired young man clenched his fists tightly, his knuckles audibly cracking as he turned to Nawaki with a cold gaze.
"What kind of man is Aizen?!" he demanded.
"Why did my brother follow him and betray the village?!"
His voice grew colder as he added.
"And even now, you still call him 'Lord'! He's Konoha's enemy!"
Faced with Fugaku's accusation, Nawaki's expression remained placid. His tone was calm as he replied.
"You don't understand the greatness of Lord Aizen."
