Shiki asked, surprised.

Shizune paused, then it dawned on her, "Did you injure him? No wonder the wound looked familiar. It was caused by strange strength."

"Just during practice."

Shiki replied calmly, "I didn't use much force."

Silence.

If he'd used even a bit more, Lady Tsunade might have found it hard to continue the session without intervening.

Shizune gave his cheek a playful pinch and went to the kitchen.

Shino held out his hands, showing a container, "Take a look."

"It looks good."

Shiki said as he examined the mutated parasite within.

"Take a closer look."

Shino cut off the chakra flow.

After a moment, as hunger set in, the parasite started to absorb the surrounding energy on its own.

Shiki raised an eyebrow.

It's absorbing natural energy.

"Put it away."

Shiki fell into thought.

This mutated parasite had been born from two parasites that were infused with true essence.

And true essence, after being modified by the system, became a diluted form of Sage chakra, containing natural energy.

It made sense that the parasite could absorb natural energy.

Overall, it was a major breakthrough.

How did the summoning beast sanctuaries — the Wet Bone Forest, Ryuchi Cave, and Mount Myoboku — come to be?

Hinata shook her head.

"Okay then."

Shiki entered the cabin and said, "I'll go cook."

Hinata clasped her hands in front of her chest and mustered up the courage to say, "You can add a little chili."

"Are you sure?"

Shiki was a little surprised.

"Yes."

Hinata lowered her head again, speaking in a low voice.

She wanted to get as close to Shiki as possible.
