Naruto: Starting with Snatching the Mangekyō Sharingan

News always reached Kirigakure slower than Sunagakure. Being isolated on the Water Country's islands, the transmission of information inevitably lagged behind.

"Good," Yagura nodded and instructed, "Inform me immediately once its revival is complete."

Yagura's plan hinged on becoming the Three-Tails' jinchūriki. Only with the Three-Tails' power would he be confident enough to overthrow the Third Mizukage.

Konoha, Hokage's Office.

Inside the Advisors' Room, Mitokado Homura and Utatane Koharu wore complex expressions, a mix of joy and worry.

"To think that Uchiha Akira has grown so powerful…" Koharu sighed, turning to Homura. "Do you think he has awakened the legendary Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, like Uchiha Madara?"

"Perhaps," Homura replied uncertainly.

They were familiar with the Mangekyō Sharingan, but the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan was something they understood only from legends.

"It doesn't matter if he has it or not," Homura continued. "The reports confirm his strength is on par with Madara and the First Hokage. With such an achievement, Hiruzen's position as Hokage is at serious risk."

Koharu shook her head helplessly. "We should be thankful he was there. Without him, Konoha might've been destroyed. The leader of Akatsuki not only wields Wood Release but can use the Wood Human Technique. Clearly, he, too, is at the level of the First Hokage."

"This time, we must face reality. The tide of fate has shifted to the Uchiha," Homura admitted reluctantly.

After a moment of thought, he muttered, "It seems the battle outside the village, several kilometers away, was between Akira and the group that stole the Hyūga clan's Byakugan."

"Indeed," Koharu confirmed. "The Perfect Susano'o—it's unmistakably his."

Homura nodded, his expression easing slightly. "At least that explains the panic caused by the battle. What's the Hyūga clan's stance on the matter?"

Koharu's face darkened. "They lost three Byakugan—one from an adult main branch member and two from branch family children, including the daughter of Hyūga Hiashi, the clan head."

"Three Byakugan stolen? How could the Hyūga's main branch fail so miserably, even under heavy protection?" Homura's tone was laced with anger and disdain.

"What else did you expect from the Hyūga main branch?" Koharu sneered. "They're nothing but parasites."

Homura sighed. "What a waste of those Byakugan. I wonder if Akira managed to recover them."

"The winds of change are upon us," Koharu said, her voice heavy with resignation. "Who knows where Konoha will head under the Uchiha's leadership?"

"Fate is beyond our control," Homura muttered. "We must prepare to welcome our hero back."

The Next Morning

Homura and Koharu, along with a large crowd of villagers, gathered at Konoha's main gate.

According to intelligence reports, Konoha's two battalions had regrouped and were returning to the village.

The streets buzzed with excitement as the news of Konoha's victory spread.

"Did you hear? The Raikage of Kumogakure was captured, and their forces were annihilated. Even Iwagakure's Ōnoki fled in disgrace!"

"Haha, Konoha took heavy losses, but we emerged victorious! Those savage brutes from Kumogakure finally met their match!"

"Thank goodness for Uchiha Akira. Without him, Konoha would've been doomed…"

"That's right! I heard Akatsuki's leader even mastered Wood Release, on par with the First Hokage's!"

"Not just Wood Release. Akatsuki's leader supposedly possesses the Rinnegan—the legendary eyes of the Sage of Six Paths!"

"Unbelievable! And yet, Akira still defeated him. They say his Perfect Susanoo cleaved mountains and seas like a god descended to earth!"

As the villagers' voices filled the air, Homura and Koharu exchanged uneasy glances.

"The people's hearts now belong to the Uchiha," Homura remarked grimly. "Akira's fame has surpassed Hiruzen's. We can no longer prevent him from becoming Hokage."

Koharu sighed in acceptance. "Perhaps it's for the best. With Akatsuki emerging as a dire threat, having a powerful Hokage might be what Konoha needs."
