"Uchiha Sasuke versus Uzumaki Naruto."

Kitazawa's voice rang across the training field, instantly silencing the chatter.

All eyes turned toward the two names.

Though Shino had impressed them earlier, his presence had always been quiet, almost forgettable. Sasuke, on the other hand, was the center of attention—cool, talented, and a proud heir to a legendary clan.

"Finally!"

Naruto grinned ear to ear. "I've been waiting forever to fight you, Sasuke!"

There was something more than rivalry between them—something unspoken, electric.

"Hmph. Try not to embarrass yourself too quickly," Sasuke replied coolly, folding his arms.

"Go, Sasuke-kun!"

Sakura and a chorus of girls cheered from the sidelines, practically sparkling with admiration.

"Who do you think wins this?" Shikamaru asked with a lazy yawn.

"No contest. Sasuke, obviously," Ino replied confidently.

"Yeah, Naruto's only edge is stamina," Choji added between bites of potato chips. "He's tough, but Sasuke's just more skilled."

"I still hope Naruto wins," Kiba muttered, arms crossed. "At least he's not so stuck-up."

Naruto and Sasuke stepped forward, forming the Seal of Confrontation.

"Let's go—Leaf Whirlwind!"

With a shout, Naruto launched into a spinning kick, slicing through the air with impressive speed.

Sasuke's eyes widened.

'Taijutsu? From Naruto?'

He didn't expect it, but he wasn't slow to respond.

He countered with a sharp kick of his own. Both attacks collided mid-air with a loud crack! Sasuke was forced to take a step back, feeling the force behind Naruto's blow.

'He's stronger than I thought.'

To be fair, Naruto had always outperformed him in physical drills.

"This is the passion of youth!" Naruto roared, spinning into a Leaf Great Whirlwind—his leg tearing through the air again.

Sasuke's expression tightened. He blocked the attack with his forearms, but the impact sent a sting up his arms. He retaliated quickly, aiming a sharp knee at Naruto's gut.

Naruto twisted midair, absorbing the hit with his fist and spinning into another kick.

Their fists and feet clashed again and again, sending shockwaves through the air.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

They moved like a blur of motion and grit—neither giving in, both feeding off the fight.

"Huh?"

Sakura's jaw dropped.

"Is… is that really Naruto?!"

"Whoa…" Kiba blinked. "I mean, I wanted him to win—but now it's actually happening?!"

Ino stared, stunned. 'Did Naruto go through some secret taijutsu training?'

Her eyes flicked to Kitazawa. That had to be it.

Even Choji had stopped eating, his eyes glued to the fight.

"Looks familiar…" Shikamaru murmured, a green jumpsuit and gleaming teeth flashing through his mind. Gai...

Kitazawa nodded to himself, quietly impressed.

'Taijutsu was the right path for Naruto for now.'

With the Nine-Tails interfering with his chakra control, ninjutsu would only frustrate him. But with taijutsu, Naruto could shine early.

Sasuke's brow furrowed deeper with every strike.

'This is getting annoying.'

Being overpowered in strength—especially by Naruto—was not something he could tolerate.

"Tch. I've had enough."

He leapt backward, forming hand signs at lightning speed.

Fire Style: Great Fireball jutsu!

A massive ball of flame erupted from Sasuke's mouth, roaring toward Naruto like a miniature sun.

"W-What?!"

Naruto's eyes widened. He could feel the searing heat rushing at him.

Without hesitation, he turned and bolted.

The crowd gasped in unison.

"He can use Fire Style already?!"

"Isn't that an Uchiha Clan jutsu?"

"It's huge—look at that fireball!"

Before the flames could reach Naruto, Kitazawa calmly stepped forward.

Water Style: Water Bullet jutsu.

With a breath, he released a surge of water, dousing the fireball mid-flight.

Steam hissed into the air, and the temperature dropped back to normal.

Sasuke's eyes widened in disbelief.

His signature jutsu—neutralized in seconds.

Kitazawa raised his hand.

"Winner: Uchiha Sasuke."

Kitazawa's voice rang out across the training field.

"As expected of my lifelong rival!"

Naruto grinned, flashing his bright teeth and giving Sasuke a big thumbs-up. "Sasuke, I can't wait for our next youthful showdown!"

"You've improved," Sasuke admitted after a brief pause. "But you're still a long way from beating me."

Despite his cool words, unease stirred in Sasuke's chest.

In truth, Naruto was starting to feel like a real threat.

Aside from his Great Fireball jutsu, Sasuke couldn't confidently say he'd win another match against him. He needed to expand his arsenal of Fire Release jutsu—and quickly.

"Hehe, that's all thanks to Kitazawa-sensei and Gai-sensei!" Naruto declared proudly, though he'd only really caught the first name in Sasuke's sentence.

Sasuke, meanwhile, thought silently: 'As expected.'

His own Great Fireball jutsu had only reached its current power because of Kitazawa's guidance. And Naruto's sudden surge in ability was also clearly Kitazawa's doing.

As for Gai… Sasuke didn't even know who that was and mentally ignored the name altogether.

Just as Kitazawa opened his mouth to speak, three glowing lines of text suddenly appeared in his vision:

Current Mission: Help Uchiha Sasuke learn a second Fire Release Ninjutsu.

Mission Reward: One-Handed Hand Seals.

Accept?

Kitazawa accepted instantly.

One-handed seals were an incredibly powerful tool—a way to unleash jutsu while keeping a hand free for combat or surprise tactics.

Then another message appeared:

Current Mission: Help Uzumaki Naruto defeat Uchiha Sasuke once.

Mission Reward: Increase chakra limit by one-tenth of a Naruto's capacity.

Accept?

Kitazawa couldn't help letting out a quiet breath of surprise.

Two missions at once?

He rubbed his chin, thoughtful.

The system clearly tied its missions to the deepest desires of the people around him. And the two who seemed to trigger missions most easily were, unsurprisingly, Uchiha Sasuke and Uzumaki Naruto—eternal rivals fated to clash.

But no matter what, it was good news.

Kitazawa had already gained one-tenth of Kakashi's chakra before. Naruto should be having roughly Jonin chakra level now because of his Uzumaki lineage and also the nine-tails slowly leaking chakra into his body. Earning a tenth would give him chakra reserves on par with a standard Jonin.

Still…

Helping Naruto defeat Sasuke wouldn't be easy.

Right now, Sasuke was ahead in both skill and experience, especially with fire-style jutsu.

Clapping his hands, Kitazawa addressed the class.

"Ten-minute break! Rest up and get ready for the second round of sparring."

At once, the students of Class 1A scattered across the field to sit, drink water, and catch their breath.

But even as they rested, the buzz of excited chatter filled the air.

And at the center of every conversation were two names—Uchiha Sasuke and Uzumaki Naruto.
