Underneath the ocean floor outside Amegakure.

In an empty, desolate cavern.

A menacing statue stood tall, its surface covered in countless dark sealing scripts, densely packed.

Beneath the statue lay six rectangular containers, neatly arranged.

Suddenly, the long-haired Deva Path opened its eyes and pressed its hand on the ground.

"Summoning Jutsu!"

Boom!

A burst of white smoke erupted, and Konan and Shishou instantly appeared before the Deva Path.

After this was done, the Deva Path lay back into the container, closing its eyes once again.

Konan pointed to the seals on the statue and said, "Those seals were placed by Miroku and Eri together. They use senjutsu energy to isolate summoning signals."

She didn't know if Uchiha Obito had the ability to summon the Gedo Statue, so she took this precaution just in case.

Hearing this, Shishou nodded.

Whether it was Miko Miroku's shrine maiden sealing techniques or Uzumaki Eri's Uzumaki clan seals, both were incredibly powerful.

In the art of sealing techniques, no one in the current ninja world could compare to the two of them.

Approaching the Gedo Statue, Shishou placed his hand on it, his Rinnegan appearing as he focused.

According to the original story, Madara Uchiha, upon awakening the Rinnegan, used his connection with the Gedo Statue to summon it from the moon to the ninja world.

This meant that Shishou, who also possessed the Rinnegan, could establish a connection with the Gedo Statue and summon it as well.

After all, the Rinnegan was a power of the God Tree, and the Gedo Statue, as the shell of the Ten-Tails, was deeply connected to it.

After a minute, Shishou withdrew his hand, closing his Rinnegan.

He had successfully established a connection with the Gedo Statue and gained the ability to summon it.

However, this would require him to undo Miko Miroku and Uzumaki Eri's seals first.

"I plan to transfer it to the moon. That way, we don't have to worry about Uchiha Obito finding it," Shishou said after some thought.

The Gedo Statue might be crucial to his future quest to become a Bloodline Limit, and it was not something he could risk losing.

"That's for the best," Konan agreed.

The moon was indeed the most suitable place to store the Gedo Statue.

With a puff of smoke, Shishou created a shadow clone, instructing it to use the Flying Thunder God Technique to transfer the Gedo Statue to the moon.

Then, he took Konan's hand and returned to Amegakure.

Sitting atop the tower in Amegakure, Shishou held Konan in his arms and smiled, "Tell me about the other members of Akatsuki."

Sitting on his lap and leaning against him, Konan began to speak calmly, "Kakuzu is still the same, relentlessly capturing bounty ninjas for rewards. But perhaps your killing of Sasori scared him, so now he only captures rogue ninjas and deposits the money in the bank you established..."

"Uchiha Itachi has been constantly searching for Uchiha Obito ever since the latter disappeared, but it seems he doesn't have long to live..."

"Zabuza Momochi is on a mission, investigating various matters..."

"Shinno betrayed Uchiha Obito and came to seek my protection..."

Hearing that Uchiha Itachi didn't have long to live, Shishou was slightly taken aback.

It was already the 67th year of Konoha, and indeed, Itachi's body was reaching its limit.

Perhaps it was time to find a way for him to help Sasuke awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan. This was likely Itachi's own wish as well, though he wasn't sure how Mikoto would feel about it.

"Let's see how I handle you," Shishou said with a raised eyebrow, holding Konan as they vanished, reappearing on the moon.

Once on the moon, they quickly got into position.

In the following days, Shishou spent most of his time with the newly engaged Rin Nohara.

The rest of the time, he checked on the livestock farms he had established throughout the ninja world.

His goal was to become an immortal like Kaguya Ōtsutsuki.

To become an immortal, merely becoming a Sage of Six Paths or a Jinchūriki of the Ten-Tails was not enough. Even Hagoromo and Hamura Ōtsutsuki could not escape the ravages of time and ultimately perished.

Thus, to become an immortal, he needed to find a way to obtain a Chakra Fruit or achieve a Bloodline Limit like Kaguya.

Either he would eat the Chakra Fruit like Kaguya.

Or he would use the Destruction Bugs to acquire the bloodline of all the Tailed Beasts, becoming a true Sage of Six Paths, and then find a way to obtain Kaguya's Bloodline Limit.

However, whether cultivating the God Tree to fruition or using the Destruction Bugs to devour and feed back, both required an enormous amount of biological energy.

In other words, after acquiring the Rinnegan, his demand for animals had not diminished but rather increased.

It had been three or four years, and he was eager to see how Tenten, Ino, and Hinata were doing.

It was also time to prioritize their training.
