"Naruto Talent Entry: Awakened Legacy – Born of the Ōtsutsuki Bloodlin

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Chief Student

Although Izanami didn't awaken the Sage Body, he still felt a twinge of regret.

However, obtaining the Uzumaki Bloodline was already incredibly fortunate.

This bloodline, like those of the Senju, Uchiha, and Kaguya clans, is a branch of the Ōtsutsuki lineage.

As descendants of the Sage Body, both the Uzumaki and Senju clans possess remarkable vitality and enormous Chakra reserves.

In addition to their expertise in Sealing Jutsu, the Uzumaki Clan possesses three powerful, unique abilities: the Mind's Eye of Kagura, Adamantine Sealing Chains, and Physical Healing.Mind's Eye of Kagura is among the most advanced sensing techniques in the Ninja World.Adamantine Sealing Chains serve both offensive and defensive purposes. They can form barriers and perform high-level Sealing Jutsu, strong enough to restrain even a Tailed Beast.Physical Healing consumes Chakra to rapidly heal one's own or another's injuries—an extremely potent support ability. These three techniques are top-tier support skills in any scenario.

However, just like not every Uchiha can awaken the Sharingan, not every Uzumaki inherits these abilities.

In the original timeline, Naruto Uzumaki didn't awaken any of them before gaining Kurama's recognition. Afterward, he exhibited a similar good-and-evil sensing ability to Uzumaki Mito.

Perhaps the reason he didn't unlock the other traits was due to the overpowering nature of the true Sage Body—or maybe the original author simply didn't want to give him too many advantages.

Regardless, it's undeniable that Naruto possessed the Uzumaki Bloodline, and as the reincarnation of Asura's Chakra, its purity was exceptionally high.

Now, Izanami had awakened the Uzumaki Bloodline from Naruto himself. If luck was on his side, he might even awaken one of those three unique abilities.

If he was even luckier—like Karin Uzumaki—and awakened all three simultaneously, then in terms of sensing, sealing, and healing, Izanami would become a top-tier support-type existence in the entire Ninja World.

But even if none of those abilities manifested, just the Sage Body's vitality alone was worth the awakening. It was still a win.

Satisfied, Izanami closed the glowing light screen and turned his attention back to the ongoing matches.

One by one, the rounds concluded and victors were decided. Soon, the Taijutsu portion of the exams ended.

Next came the final test: the newly added Survival Exercise.

Before beginning, Iruka Umino led the students to the infirmary, where medical staff treated their injuries.

Afterwards, he brought them to the supply room, allowing each student to select equipment necessary for stealth and hiding techniques.

Unlike the bell-snatching survival exercise Genin went through, the Academy's version resembled an elaborate game of hide-and-seek.

Its primary goal was to test proficiency in Hiding Techniques, the Body Flicker Technique, and the Three Body Technique.

Those who performed well would receive top marks.

Those who did poorly would be given a second chance, much like the Chunin Exams. But if they still underperformed, they would be caught and penalized.

For Izanami, who had long since mastered the Three Body Technique, this exam posed no challenge.

He breezed through until the end, earning yet another perfect score.

Although the official results wouldn't be released until the new semester in April, the title of Top Student was practically already his.

After school, as usual, Izanami and Hinata walked together until they reached their parting point.

"Hinata, see you at the usual place tomorrow," he said.

"Okay!" she replied with a bright smile.

Even though they no longer trained at the old, abandoned training ground—particularly after the Uchiha Clan incident—they hadn't stopped practicing together.

They had simply moved their training to safer places like the Academy's playground or Izanami's courtyard at home.

His home had survived the Nine-Tailed Fox's attack unscathed.

His parents—both former ninjas—had left behind a modest inheritance, including a detached two-story house with a small yard.

Compared to Naruto, whose inheritance was seized by the village, even his late mother's scarf tossed into storage to gather dust, Izanami's circumstances were significantly better.

Thankfully, his parents hadn't held any noble or political power, so the village had no reason to interfere with his inheritance.

The Ninja Academy operates with three semesters a year. Apart from the relatively long summer break, the other holidays were brief.

In the blink of an eye, April 1st arrived, marking the start of a new academic year.

The sixth-year students had graduated. Those acknowledged by their supervising Jonin had begun real missions.

The rest had either returned to repeat the year, been recruited by other departments, or dropped out entirely after repeated failures, choosing a civilian life instead.

First through fifth-year students were promoted and moved into their new classrooms.

The newly vacant first-year classrooms were now filled with new students who had passed the Academy's entrance exam.

That morning, the notice board area was crowded.

First-years were checking classroom assignments, while older students were checking their final exam results.

"Hey, hey! Izayoi-kun, did you check the results yet?"

"Izanami! You're this year's top student again!"

"As expected of you! Even that guy Sasuke couldn't beat you!"

"Wow! Izanami is first and Hinata is second. You two desk mates totally crushed it!"

As Izanami arrived at the classroom, he was immediately swarmed by excited classmates.

Boys and girls alike surrounded him with praise and admiration.

Rather than feeling annoyed, Izanami remained patient and polite.

Smiling, he chatted with everyone for quite some time.

From the students' words, it was clear—he had taken the top spot again.

Surprisingly, second place wasn't Uchiha Sasuke—it was Hinata.

But Izanami wasn't shocked.

Hinata's grades had always been among the best.

In the original timeline, during the written portion of the Chunin Exams, only she and Sakura from the four girls of the Rookie Nine didn't need to cheat.

Now, with Izanami's guidance, Hinata had learned Tree Climbing and Water Walking techniques in her first year.

She had become far less shy, more decisive in combat, and more confident in her own strength.

If she still couldn't outperform Sasuke, then Izanami might as well smash his head into a block of tofu.

Frankly, Sasuke should count himself lucky he hadn't faced Hinata in the Taijutsu matches—he wouldn't have even made it to third place.

After all, Shino Aburame wasn't exactly a pushover either.

Eventually, when class was about to begin, Izanami finally made his way to his seat.

"Good morning, Izayoi-kun."

"Morning, Hinata."

As usual, Hinata had arrived earlier than him.

They exchanged their usual greetings and started chatting.

"Izayoi-kun, congratulations on becoming top student," she said with a warm smile.

Izanami returned the gesture. "Congrats to you too, second place! Your Father's going to be even less likely to keep you from going out now."

"Mhm, mhm…" Hinata nodded rapidly, clearly delighted.

She knew by now that her father had long figured out her and Izanami's training routine.

But she hadn't been restricted or grounded. In fact, she'd been allowed to continue seeing him freely.

This meant her father likely approved of Izanami's influence.

Thinking back, Hinata realized how many times she'd been caught practicing chakra control at home—yet never questioned.

Her rapid progress probably made it clear to her father that her training was paying off.

And now, with Izanami ranked first and Hinata second, her father had even more reason to view their friendship positively.

The thought made Hinata's heart swell with happiness.
