"Naruto Talent Entry: Awakened Legacy – Born of the Ōtsutsuki Bloodlin

Chapter 18: Chapter 18: The Second Ōtsutsuki Indra

Izanami, having won the grand prize, didn't immediately indulge in the changes brought by the newly obtained Sage's Eye.

Instead, he calmed his mind and focused on treating Uchiha Sasuke.

Looking at Sasuke—with dark circles under his eyes and an aura of exhaustion from recent hardships—Izanami's gaze softened with a trace of pity.

The ninja world had no shortage of orphans with tragic pasts, but among them, Izanami remembered only two who once had happy families before losing everything: Nagato and Uchiha Sasuke.

Compared to Nagato—who at least had Yahiko, Konan, and Jiraiya—Sasuke's fate was far crueler. His destiny had been carefully manipulated by Uchiha Itachi, leaving him oscillating between vengeance and despair.

Even when Sasuke eventually learned the truth and tried to forge a new path, he was quickly reined in by the very companions he finally trusted.

In the years that followed, Sasuke chose to atone. He traveled the ninja world gathering intelligence on the Ōtsutsuki Clan, not returning home for years.

If Izanami hadn't interfered with Sasuke's fate, his future might have been even more tragic than in the original timeline.

After all, before graduation, Sasuke was the most promising student in the Academy in the original story. But now, the top student was Izanami, the second was Hinata, and Sasuke had to fight just to remain in the top three.

After graduation, Sasuke would face continuous setbacks, constantly being surpassed by Uzumaki Naruto, the dead-last who rose like lightning.

"Should I give him a hand?"

Izanami pondered silently.

At that moment, Sasuke—who had been unconscious—finally stirred and opened his eyes.

He sat up slowly, eyes bloodshot, and glanced down at his chest, where the previously severe wound had healed, leaving behind only a faint scar.

He couldn't help but replay the battle in his mind.

Whether it was taijutsu or ninjutsu, he had been thoroughly outclassed.

The relentless flurry of attacks, powered by formidable lower body strength, was something Sasuke couldn't even counter.

And that green healing glow—he now realized that Izanami also possessed Medical Ninjutsu.

The realization left Sasuke feeling a sense of helplessness and frustration.

"I lost," he muttered.

But Sasuke was not someone who couldn't accept defeat.

Like Naruto, he didn't harbor resentment toward Izanami.

Despite it being an anything-goes match, he acknowledged that using ninjutsu so suddenly was risky.

Even so, he didn't hold a grudge. He simply accepted it.

"I just got lucky this time," Izanami said, patting Sasuke's shoulder.

"You're really strong. I thought I was the only one in class who could use Five Elements Ninjutsu. But you can too. As expected from a genius of the Uchiha Clan."

He stood up and extended his hand to Sasuke with sincerity.

"I had the upper hand today. Next time, let's fight again."

Sasuke stared at him. Izanami's words were not condescending. There was genuine recognition in them.

In that moment, a warmth spread in Sasuke's heart—something he hadn't felt in a long time.

He smiled, perhaps for the first time since waking up, and reached for Izanami's hand.

"Next time, I won't lose again!"

Izanami helped him up and raised two fingers.

"Then you'd better train hard. I'm really strong, you know."

"Just you wait!" Sasuke replied, eyes blazing with renewed determination. The two boys then performed the Reconciliation Seal, sealing their newfound camaraderie.

This touching moment was also being observed through a transparent crystal ball.

Puffing on his pipe, Hiruzen Sarutobi watched the scene unfold and smiled with relief.

"The new leaves have begun to sprout."

At this point in time, Sasuke was still in an emotionally unstable stage.

To ensure he didn't spiral into self-destruction, Hiruzen—honoring his promise to Itachi to protect his brother—had ordered the Anbu to watch over him from the shadows.

From the moment Sasuke and Izanami left the Academy and headed to the abandoned training grounds, reports had already made their way to the Hokage.

Fortunately, Izanami hadn't done anything out of character—like talking to himself or acting abnormally.

He had wisely kept his head down during any moment of hesitation.

Had he not, he might've been subjected to the Yamanaka Clan's Mind Reading Jutsu.

Hiruzen wasn't unfamiliar with Izanami.

This generation of Academy students was exceptional—containing the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki, heirs of major clans, and more.

Among them, Izanami stood out as the top student, and had long since entered Hiruzen's radar.

Over the course of a year, Hiruzen had gathered ample intelligence.

Izanami had mastered the Shadow Clone Technique, low-level Wind Release, and frequently trained with Hinata Hyuga, the main branch heiress, at the old training grounds.

In every era, there were talented civilian ninjas:

Orochimaru, Minato Namikaze, the once-unknown Yakushi Kabuto... Even Hatake Kakashi, despite his background, had no inherited Kekkei Genkai.

Compared to those geniuses, Izanami wasn't unprecedented—but he was undeniably special.

Such talent merited investment and focused training.

At minimum, he could become a well-rounded Jōnin.

If he could master a forbidden jutsu, he might even reach Elite Jōnin level—a critical asset to the village.

Thus, Izanami remained firmly on Hiruzen's watchlist.

After parting ways with Sasuke, Izanami quietly summoned a glowing status screen visible only to himself.

At the top of the entry list, the previously marked Ōtsutsuki Bloodline (Red) no longer had just the golden "Kage-level potential" tag.

Now, it read:Sage's Eye (Red)The appearance of this entry didn't immediately trigger any dramatic transformation.

But Izanami was confident that unseen changes were already occurring within his body.

This Sage's Eye wasn't the same as the fabled Rinnegan, but a unique entry exclusive to Ōtsutsuki Indra.

It represented the pinnacle of Yin Release, derived from Sage of Six Paths' Yin Chakra and spiritual energy—a power of pure Yin, separate from Hagoromo's will.

Importantly, it wasn't Indra's reincarnated chakra.

Rather than gradually awakening through fate and recognition like Sasuke had to, Izanami was directly endowed with this power, bypassing all limitations.

He was now able to develop strength at an unprecedented pace, akin to the legendary Indra himself.

In the years ahead, his spiritual energy and Yin chakra would soar to incredible heights.

"I guess I really am the second Ōtsutsuki Indra now."

Izanami smirked inwardly.

If he could view Indra's personal talent entry, he was certain it wouldn't just read "Uchiha Bloodline."

Rather, it would be a high-level Ōtsutsuki Bloodline, one capable of infinite visual prowess without needing transplants or evolutions like ordinary Sharingan users.

Izanami already knew that with his current state, he could perform Five Elements Ninjutsu without hand seals.

This alone confirmed to him that Indra's bloodline rating was red—just like his.

And as for anything above red?

That was highly unlikely.

After all, if such a level existed, the reincarnations of Indra and Asura wouldn't need to combine their powers to awaken the Rinnegan.

They could've done it alone—like Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, who awakened it naturally.

Right now, Izanami had reached the level of Ōtsutsuki Indra.

To ascend even further—to become the second coming of Hagoromo or Hamura Ōtsutsuki—he would need to evolve his Ōtsutsuki Bloodline to an even higher tier.

But that was a matter for the future.
