Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Future SS-Level Ninjutsu
While Izanami and Hinata were accompanying Hanabi on a shopping trip, far away near the Uchiha Clan grounds—beneath the great waterfall on the Nanga River—something extraordinary was happening.
If a Hyuga Clan member were present and activated their Byakugan, they would detect a hidden cave beneath the cascading waterfall. Inside the cave, muffled beneath the roar of falling water, echoed loud rumbling sounds. Anyone touching the rocky walls around the waterfall would feel faint tremors pulsing at intervals.
A blue light suddenly sliced through the darkness inside the cave.
A swirling sphere, blue and white like a balloon filled with liquid, rapidly expanded to the size of a basketball before shooting into the darkness ahead.
Boom—
A powerful explosion followed, the shockwave dispersing dust and gravel into the air. Yet none of it spilled outside the cave—it was swept away by a controlled gust of wind.
As the rumbling calmed, another identical sphere formed and launched again into the black depths, creating another violent explosion. These consistent bursts of energy were carving out the cave itself.
At the entrance, bathed in light, a shadow clone of Ju Liuye appeared, reviewing the progress.
"The core is complete. Next, I'll work on forming internal spheres," the clone muttered to himself.
Ju Liuye had now mastered the foundations of his original technique—Super Hurricane Serial Spheres—a powerful variation on the Rasengan. Its size rivaled the Giant Rasengan seen in the anime, second only in volume.
This breakthrough had taken him two entire years.
It was now clear to Izanami why Naruto needed shadow clone support after three years of training to execute the Giant Rasengan. For someone who couldn't even form a one-handed Rasengan, shaping it into such an enormous sphere while maintaining stability without Chakra leaking or exploding was near impossible.
Even Izanami had to spend two years improving his Chakra control to make it feasible.
The challenge wasn't simply amassing large amounts of Chakra; it was the precise, high-speed rotation required to stabilize such a dense sphere.
This level of control was hell-tier difficulty.
After all, the standard Rasengan was already an advanced transformation technique with A-rank difficulty. The Giant Rasengan hovered between A and S-rank. It made perfect sense why S-rank Ninjutsu were classified as forbidden or secret techniques—power alone wasn't enough to master them.
Creating such a large energy ball was already an arduous feat.
To insert five smaller spheres inside the main one, each requiring simultaneous Wind Release Nature Transformation, was an almost insurmountable task—on par with Naruto's completion of Wind Release: Rasenshuriken.
If successful, this technique would exceed even S-rank—becoming SS-rank in both power and difficulty.
Even Otsutsuki Asura hadn't achieved something like this.
But for Izanami, this was now the goal.
His potential exceeded even Asura's, who had only acquired power after receiving it from Hagoromo Otsutsuki.
If Purple-level Chakra Control wasn't enough, Izanami would upgrade it to Golden-level.
If he could master the Super Hurricane Serial Spheres, he'd reach the pinnacle of battle prowess—much like Naruto in the original story, who often won with a single, overwhelming technique.
Any enemy? Handled with a sphere.
Sitting cross-legged before the roaring waterfall, Ju Liuye's shadow clone began condensing Chakra again, forming another basketball-sized Rasengan. This time, however, he held it in place, refining it instead of launching it.
When the Chakra was fully depleted, the clone dispersed in a puff of smoke, transferring its fatigue and experience back to the main body.
Elsewhere, Izanami was gently feeding Hanabi a rice cake ball. He slightly raised his eyebrows upon receiving the feedback from the clone but quickly returned to normal. Even Hinata, secretly watching him, didn't notice the subtle shift in his expression.
Since mastering the Rasengan and beginning the Super Hurricane Serial Spheres project, Izanami had rarely trained using his main body. Most of the development was left to Izayoi's shadow clone inside the cave.
Even when Izanami did train physically, it was usually with Hinata at an abandoned training ground, more for her sake than his.
He was well aware that Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, likely kept tabs on him using the Crystal Ball Technique. In the past two years, Izanami had sparred with Uchiha Sasuke nearly every week. There was no way these intense, irregular battles had escaped Hiruzen's notice.
Before Itachi Uchiha defected from Konoha, he had informed Hiruzen and even confronted Danzo Shimura—Izanami didn't doubt the old man kept a watchful eye.
If not for the risk of being discovered, Izanami might have even activated the Byakugan to scout for ANBU surveillance teams.
He had long since learned to control the Chakra output of Izayoi's shadow clones, ensuring the feedback from fatigue and Chakra consumption remained within manageable limits.
After Hanabi finished eating, Izanami took her around the village, giving her piggyback rides using teleportation, tree walking, and water walking techniques. Though Hanabi hadn't officially started Chakra training, watching the battles of Hinata and Neji Hyuga, and witnessing Izanami and Hinata train, deeply inspired her.
Like in the original timeline, Hanabi yearned to be a gentle but powerful presence, like her big sister.
While she was still a bit of a glutton, she preferred spending time with Izanami over playing with children her age, enjoying the thrill of running along walls and rooftops like a roller coaster.
Izanami was sure that once she began her Chakra extraction training, she'd be even more attached to him.
"Oni-chan, goodbye!"
"Bye-bye."
After escorting Hanabi home around dusk, Izanami didn't return to his own place. Instead, he stopped by the market to buy ingredients and teleported to the abandoned Uchiha Clan grounds—where only Uchiha Sasuke remained.
"You're here," Sasuke said, eyes gleaming with fighting spirit as Izanami arrived, holding two full bags.
"Let's eat first. We'll fight after we've rested a bit," Izanami replied, smiling.
"Okay," Sasuke agreed without hesitation.
When night fell, the two sat on the veranda eating hotpot. As silence settled over the deserted clan grounds, two figures suddenly shot into the nearby forest like arrows.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
The sounds of fierce impacts, bodies slamming into trees, and projectiles slicing through air echoed under the moonlight.
Boom—
An explosion lit up the night, a red blaze flaring briefly before vanishing as quickly as it appeared.
About half an hour later, the two figures reemerged from the woods.
In the moonlight, the contrast between them was stark.
Izanami's clothes were untouched—clean and composed.
Sasuke's were torn and scorched, burns marking his arms and face. Scars peeked through what remained of his shirt. Yet his eyes sparkled—not with defeat, but with growth.
"I won again," Izanami said calmly. "So as agreed, I'd like a look at your family's Ninjutsu library."
"Fine. It's not like there's anything good left anyway," Sasuke responded indifferently.
After the Uchiha Clan's massacre, the village buried the dead and confiscated the clan's scrolls. According to Hiruzen Sarutobi, the advanced techniques weren't touched—they were believed to have been taken by Itachi.
Sasuke hadn't protested. Hiruzen had promised that once he became a qualified ninja and matured, he could reclaim the Uchiha land and its scrolls.
He knew he didn't yet have the strength to defend such legacies.
Izanami also knew Hiruzen hadn't lied. Aside from special techniques like Izanagi and Izanami, most Uchiha Ninjutsu wasn't worth the village's effort to seize. Like the remnants left by Izanami's own parents, their value didn't lie in scrolls.
Still, for Izanami, the Uchiha Ninjutsu library was invaluable.
His form transformation skills were elite, but his Wind Release Nature Transformation was underdeveloped.
Studying elemental Ninjutsu would accelerate his Wind Release training—essential for perfecting the Super Hurricane Serial Spheres.
For Wind Release, he could follow Naruto's methods. For the other four elemental transformations, he'd need to explore them himself—through training or future Jonin instruction.
There was, however, one shortcut.
To bypass the need for gradual mastery of all five elemental Wind Release natures—
Awaken the Rinnegan or Reincarnation Eye.
