"We have already tried transferring energy from other clansmen who agreed to help," Ashina explained, "but that didn't work out. Somehow, the energy transfer between the donor and her, when she bites their arms, is consumed by an unknown void force. This leads to further loss, as the donor of vitality doesn't get it back, and her body just refuses to merge with it."
.
.
.
Ashina's words were laced with concern and frustration. Aina's father, who had been quietly observing the scene, finally spoke up. He walked up to the weakened Uzumaki, his hand resting on her head as he pulled her into a gentle hug.
.
.
.
After a moment, he looked behind him, finally acknowledging Aina's presence. "So, little Aina, you have finally decided to grace us with the presence of our grandson... Huh, what happened to him? Why's he unconscious?" His eyes, though filled with warmth and love, couldn't hide the deep pain and exhaustion etched on his face.
.
.
.
Aina's father looked nothing like she used to remember. He appeared haggard and sleep-deprived, his smile, though genuine, seemed forced. Aina's heart went out to him, knowing that he was about to lose his life companion.
.
.
.
"Dad... You haven't been taking care of yourself," Aina said, tears welling up in her eyes. "Mom is already in such a condition, and now even you look half dead." She moved towards her father, embracing him in a tight hug.
.
.
.
Aina's father chuckled weakly, trying to reassure her. "Hahah, little one, I've just been a little busy for the past few days."
.
.
.
"So, why is this little one unconscious?" Aina's father, Akari, asked with a chuckle, eyeing Tatsuya's ponytails. "And are you sure he's a boy? Hahaha... He looks cute that way... hihi."
.
.
.
A weak chuckle escaped Aina's mother's lips as she gazed at Tatsuya with a mix of motherly love and concern. She knew her grandson would face many dangers in the future.
.
.
.
The lighthearted exchange between Aina and her father eased the tension in the room. Aina's mother, sensing the shift in atmosphere, spoke up, "Now, no need to be all gloomy. I've become old anyway... It's up to you young people to carry our legacies forward."
.
.
.
The atmosphere had cooled down, and although a pensive and sad visage lingered, they all hid it. Akari, attempting to maintain the jovial mood, asked Aina, "So, when is he going to wake up? I have to introduce myself to him... See, Ashina, this is how it should be. You haven't given us a grandson or granddaughter... Learn something from your sister."
.
.
.
Aina cleared up her father's doubts, "Now, now, Dad, no need to be so tense. As for Tatsuya, he's been traveling for four continuous days, so it's no wonder he's tired from the long journey. We were even attacked midway by Momochi clan ninjas... though we dealt with them."
.
.
.
Akari's expression turned serious, and he asked his wife, "Hmm, but what's more intriguing is why your vitality dropped even more, dear?" His eyes were filled with concern as he gazed at her tired visage.
.
.
.
Aina's mother replied silently, her expression contemplative and sad, "That, I can't tell you, honey... or rather, it's better if both you and Ashina don't know about it."
.
.
.
She continued, "Now, Aina, it's better if both you and little Tatsuya go rest. Let's meet at family dinner; by then, this little one should also be awake." She gave a small, reassuring smile.
.
.
.
Aina agreed, "Yes, Mom, I will." She picked up Tatsuya in her arms and moved towards her own quarters, where she used to live before marrying into the Senju clan estate.

I slowly opened my eyes, gazing up at the old wooden ceiling. The lights seemed dimmed, casting a warm glow over the room. Glancing to my sides, I saw my mom sitting on the bed beside me, her hands holding a red-colored scroll. Her eyes darted through the texts, her expression intent.
.
.
.
Before I could sit up straight and ask her what had happened earlier, she spoke, her eyes remaining on the scroll. "Good evening, dear. You sure took your time resting."
.
.
.
I voiced out my thoughts, "Hmm, Mom, why did Grandma make me fall unconscious?" My small body still refused to cooperate with me as I struggled to get up and sit on the bed.
.
.
.
My mom's expression changed, and her gaze darted towards me as she offered a gentle smile. "It's nothing important, all you need to know is that now you're going to meet your grandpa. I remember you were continuously pestering me to know more about him on our journey." She chuckled, and I sensed that she was somehow changing the topic, though I didn't understand why.
.
.
.
My mom took me in her arms after putting the scroll away in a cabin beside the bed. As I rested in her embrace, I felt refreshed. After a while, we came out of her room, with me sitting comfortably in her arms.
.
.
.
One thing I loved about this world was the unknowing warmth radiating from my mom. Being in her embrace always shed the little maturity I had gained in seventeen years of my previous life, making me feel like a carefree child once again.
.
.
.
The clinking of tableware and utensils filled the air as three people sat around the dining table. As my mom approached, I saw a rugged-looking man with scattered red hair, his face lit up with an excited expression. Grandma and Uncle Ashina were also smiling at me, and it dawned on me that they had been waiting for me to wake up.
.
.
.
"Well, hello there, little one! Hahaha, come, come, sit here," the weathered man exclaimed, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
.
.
.
I glanced up at my mom, expecting her to shield me from this stranger, but instead, she handed me over to him without hesitation. The man cradled me in his arms, his eyes shining with excitement. "Hahah, boy, I'm your grandpa! Now, now, don't stare at me like that... I know I'm very handsome... Hahaha!"
.
.
.
A stifled laugh escaped my lips as I looked up at him. When he declared himself handsome, I couldn't help but respond, "Hello, Grandpa, but ain't you old?"
.
.
.
The dining room erupted into laughter as the family members enjoyed the exchange. Grandma, unable to control herself, chimed in, "Well Grandpa, in what confidence could you define yourself handsome, old man... Hahaha?"
.
.
.
Laughter continued to fill the room, with Grandma playfully teasing Grandpa, seemingly oblivious to her own advanced age.
.
.
.
After a few more playful antics, we sat down to enjoy dinner together. I snuggled back into my mom's lap, where she fed me from her own plate. Although my own plate and seat had been arranged, it was just a habit of mine for my mom to feed me with her own hands.
.
.
.
As we ate, the heartwarming conversation and laughter filled the dining room. After dinner, we retired to our beds, feeling content and full. Despite having already taken a long nap earlier, courtesy of my grandma's unexpected intervention, sleep came to me quickly as I lay in bed.
.
.
.
Gazing up at the ceiling, I couldn't help but feel that the Uzumaki village was a lovely place to be. Everyone I had met today, from my grandma to my grandpa, had been all smiles. I didn't know how long I would be staying here, but I was determined to enjoy myself to the fullest.
