Naruto: The Favorability-Devouring Uchiha

Chapter 26: CHAPTER 26

Arriving at the Uchiha clan's training ground, the familiar grove, Haneda cupped his hands around his mouth and called out:

"Brother Fugaku, I'm here!"

Unlike last time, Fugaku didn't make him wait. The young Uchiha heir dropped lightly from a tree branch, landing with practiced ease.

"It's you, Haneda," Fugaku greeted with a rare smile. "Why didn't Kakashi come today?"

"Don't worry. He stayed at school to catch up on classwork and study sealing techniques." Haneda waved his hand casually, though deep down, he felt a little guilty about dragging Kakashi into skipping before.

"By the way, Brother Fugaku," Haneda continued, his eyes bright with anticipation, "are we training in genjutsu today, or Fire Style?"

Fugaku raised an eyebrow. "Not shadow clones?"

Haneda blinked. What? Did Brother Fugaku just joke?

"Shadow clones aren't too hard. I'll practice them tonight. You promised me genjutsu yesterday, right?"

"I see…" Fugaku's expression hardened as he recalled his father's words. Then he nodded.

"Very well. Today, I'll teach you two practical illusions passed down by the Uchiha. First—Shackling Stakes Technique (Kōsoku no Jutsu), a binding illusion that uses the power of the hypnotic Sharingan. And second—Demonic Illusion: Mirror Heaven and Earth Change (Genjutsu: Kotoamatsukami Kaeshi)—a reflection art that turns an enemy's illusion back on them."

Haneda's breath hitched.

Kōsoku no Jutsu… and Mirror Heaven and Earth Change?! Isn't this the counter-illusion that nullifies even top-tier genjutsu?! The same trick that could shut down Orochimaru or Kurenai in an instant…?! Jackpot!

"These two require Sharingan," Fugaku said matter-of-factly. "Since you've awakened yours, you can learn them. Once you master these, you'll have no weaknesses in genjutsu—enough to counter most opponents."

As he spoke, Fugaku's eyes bled scarlet. Three tomoe rotated smoothly in each eye—fully matured Sharingan.

Haneda's single tomoe spun unconsciously in response, but the next moment—

Click.

His vision shifted.

He was no longer in the grove.

Darkness stretched endlessly, broken by four massive stakes pinning his arms and legs.

A crushing sense of helplessness washed over him. His body refused to move.

"Hhh—!"

The pain was real.

This… this is the Shackling Stakes Technique?!

A voice echoed in the black void.

"Feel it well, Haneda," Fugaku's calm tone resounded, his silhouette materializing before Haneda. The three tomoe glowed like a predator's eyes.

"This is an advanced application of the hypnotic eye. An ordinary shinobi would never see this level of genjutsu in their life."

He walked forward, his gaze locking on Haneda.

"This world is mine. In here, your freedom doesn't exist. Unless an outside force intervenes… you can't break free."

Haneda gritted his teeth, his own Sharingan flickering desperately. Break… free…!

But the gap between a single tomoe and three tomoe was an unscalable cliff. His resistance shattered like glass.

Fugaku's voice sliced through him like a blade:

"Do you feel it now—the weight of true Uchiha power?"

And then—snap. The illusion dissolved.

Green trees swayed above. Birdsong drifted through the air. The earthy smell of grass filled his lungs.

Haneda collapsed onto the soft soil, drenched in cold sweat, limbs still trembling from phantom pain. It was like his body had undergone surgery without anesthetic.

"This was your first taste of a high-level genjutsu," Fugaku said as he approached, patting Haneda's shoulder lightly. "Your body will adapt after a few sessions."

"WHAT?! More sessions?!" Haneda's voice cracked with disbelief.

This is training, or torture?! This man… this smiling devil…

Fugaku smirked faintly. "Clan Head's orders. Few Uchiha your age receive this privilege. Be grateful."

Then, with a lower tone, "Of course, earning this requires contribution. The elders value what you did—bringing Hatake Kakashi to train with us. That connection matters."

Haneda froze, then exhaled slowly, connecting the dots.

So that's it. Not just talent—but politics. Bonds have weight here.

A wry smile tugged at his lips. "Brother Fugaku… how long will it take me to master both techniques?"

"One week for Shackling Stakes—at your level," Fugaku replied confidently. "A month, minimum, for Mirror Heaven and Earth Change."

Haneda nodded, his eyes blazing anew. "Got it. Then let's start. I'm ready."

Fugaku smiled slightly, the tomoe still spinning. "Good. Let's begin."

Later That Day

Hours later, Haneda staggered home like a man returning from war. Every muscle screamed in protest. His afternoon plan to practice kenjutsu with Sakumo? Gone.

By dinner, he was just lifting his chopsticks when—

Thud.

A shadow dropped from above.

"LET'S HAVE A YOUTHFUL DUEL, HANEDA!!!"

Haneda jerked his head up—straight into the blinding glare of a green jumpsuit and bowl-cut brilliance.

"Kai?!"

"No time," Haneda deadpanned, his voice flat with exhaustion.

He opened the door, face dark. "It's rude to barge into someone's house uninvited, Kai."

Guy grinned and gave a dazzling thumbs-up. "Okay! I'll come back next time! YOUTH WAITS FOR NO ONE!"

That smile almost electrocuted Haneda. He glanced instinctively at his system prompt—

Affection +121.

WHAT?! In one morning?! Just because I accepted his challenge?! Damn it—Kai's love burns hotter than Amaterasu!

Haneda sighed, collapsing onto the couch as Kai disappeared into the night.

At least the consolation prizes weren't bad: a summoning contract for Turtle, and Kai's signature moves—Konoha Tornado, Great Leaf Hurricane, and Strong Leaf Whirlwind.

"Forget it. Eat, shower, then… those genjutsu scrolls…"

Haneda rubbed his sore neck, staring at the two scrolls Fugaku had given him. For the first time today, a genuine smile curled on his lips.

One step closer to rewriting fate.
