Chapter 134: Chapter 135: Sending You to the Pure Land!
Chapter 135: Sending You to the Pure Land!
At this moment, Hyuga Fuji could no longer use the Flying Thunder God Technique—or rather, he was unable to sense or teleport to any marked locations outside this sealed space.
"Correct. This is a sealing technique modified from the Contract Seal," Mu explained in a low voice. "As one of the Uzumaki clan's signature sealing arts, I assume you're quite familiar with it."
The Contract Seal could forcibly sever the bond between a summoner and their summoned beast.
After being specially modified by Tobirama Senju, the same principles had been applied here to sever the connection between Hyuga Fuji's Flying Thunder God markings and the technique's user.
Hyuga Fuji smiled faintly. "Familiar, indeed."
After all, he had studied this seal before.
Even the seal used to suppress the Hyuga clan's Caged Bird Curse Mark shared some conceptual similarities with the Contract Seal.
From this perspective, the Uzumaki clan's sealing techniques were truly remarkable. Whether it was the Flying Thunder God, Edo Tensei, or the Hyuga clan's Caged Bird seal, many seemingly unbreakable techniques could be countered by sealing arts.
And yet, despite their expertise, the Uzumaki clan itself had disappeared from history.
If not for the fact that life and death in this world could be twisted into mere illusions, leaving room for resurrection, much of their precious legacy would have been lost forever.
"Instead of placing the seal directly on me, you've chosen to isolate this entire space, preventing me from using Flying Thunder God to escape. Was that because you were worried I might undo the seal?"
"After all, Uzumaki Ashina and the others have already defected to your side," Mu replied with a shrug. "We have no idea how far your understanding of sealing arts has progressed. Being cautious is only natural."
"Why are we still talking?"
Kinkaku shot a displeased glance at Mu, his bloodthirsty aura practically radiating from his entire being. "Let's kill him already! Then we can revive the Second Hokage and chat as much as you like. Silver!"
"Got it!"
Ginkaku responded eagerly, mirroring Kinkaku's feral grin as he spit out six treasured tools from his mouth, readying himself for battle.
Kinkaku eyed Hyuga Fuji, who remained unnervingly calm. Picking up the Banana Fan, Kinkaku poured a massive amount of chakra into it before swinging it forcefully. A fiery inferno surged forward, engulfing everything in its path.
"Let's see if you can—"
His words were cut off mid-sentence.
Hyuga Fuji raised his hand without a word. A surge of invisible force erupted from his palm, scattering the flames instantly and shattering the ground beneath them.
Kinkaku and Ginkaku were both sent flying, their bodies embedding themselves in the walls of the hall, leaving behind deep, human-shaped imprints.
The other Edo Tensei shinobi barely had time to be shocked.
The sheer chakra radiating from Hyuga Fuji's body sent shivers down their spines. Even those who had faced tailed beasts couldn't help but feel a heavy sense of dread.
That oppressive aura... it left no doubt about the vast gulf in strength between them and their opponent.
"Senju... Hashirama," Mu murmured, taking a deep breath as he struggled to find his voice.
In his memory, there was only one person whose chakra could compare to what he was sensing now.
Previously, Hyuga Fuji's chakra output had been on par with that of an average tailed beast. But now? It surpassed even the combined strength of the first eight tailed beasts.
In Mu's recollection, perhaps only Hashirama Senju or the full power of the Nine-Tails could rival such an overwhelming presence.
The sheer density of chakra emanating from Fuji created a tangible energy field around him, swallowing light and casting deep shadows over everything in the room.
Hyuga Fuji lowered his hand, tilting his head slightly as he glanced toward one of the hall's dark corners.
"Surely you're not planning to fight in such a cramped space?" he said evenly. "If you have any other tricks, feel free to use them now."
"..."
From the shadows, Tobirama Senju remained silent. Then, along with three other shinobi stationed in the room's corners, he pressed his palm to the ground.
Blue lines of chakra spread outward, etching glowing patterns across the entire hall.
Noticing that Hyuga Fuji made no move to stop them, Tobirama fell into deep thought.
While vast reserves of chakra could ensure a shinobi's baseline strength, without techniques like the Sage Art: True Several Thousand Hands or the Perfect Susanoo, Fuji might still be at a disadvantage compared to his elder brother Hashirama or Uchiha Madara.
The shinobi present just needed to hold Fuji at bay long enough for their formation to activate.
But what technique had Fuji used to send Kinkaku and Ginkaku flying earlier? It didn't seem to resemble the Hyuga clan's Air Palm...
And how had Fuji amassed such immense chakra, rivaling that of Hashirama?
As Tobirama pondered these questions, Mu and Gari quickly composed themselves.
The two shinobi simultaneously launched attacks at Kinkaku and Ginkaku. Mu's Dust Release and Gari's Explosion Release reduced the duo's regenerating bodies to ash.
Then, each of them shoved a gray talisman into the heads of their fallen foes.
Black sealing patterns crawled across the remnants of Kinkaku and Ginkaku's bodies, halting their regeneration entirely.
Clearly, the seals embedded in the hall's floor were not the only ones in play.
Compared to Kinkaku, whose body was obliterated, Ginkaku was in slightly better shape—he still had his mouth intact.
Staring at his half-destroyed brother, Ginkaku shouted furiously, "What the hell are you bastards doing? Is that chakra so terrifying that you won't even fight? Are you planning to defect to Hyuga Fuji?"
Beads of sweat dripped down Gari's forehead as he kept a wary eye on Fuji's movements. "This formation requires a massive chakra source to activate, and we agreed that you two were the best candidates to provide it. By the way, this plan was originally proposed by the Second Hokage."
The sheer intensity of Fuji's chakra was enough to sap even the will to fight.
Looking back, it was incredible that the First Five Kage had ever stood against such a monster.
"..."
Ginkaku's face twitched at the explanation. Seething with anger, he roared, "That damn scheming Senju ghost! All you know is how to ambush and play dirty. If you wanted revenge, just say so! We should've killed you the moment we heard you were in charge!
"And as for the rest of you traitors—you went along with this behind our backs? Let's see how far you get without us!"
"..."
His tirade was met with silence.
Evidently, Kinkaku and Ginkaku weren't particularly well-liked among the other Edo Tensei shinobi.
Eventually, the brothers were forcibly bound by sealing talismans, their massive chakra reserves siphoned off to fuel the formation.
Glowing patterns spread across the hall, forming a perfect square barrier. At its four corners, four shinobi—including Tobirama and Hozuki Gengetsu—stood within the barrier.
Tobirama's voice rang out, low and unyielding:
"You spoke with me about techniques that could breach dimensions.
"Are you willing to step into another realm to fight us? A realm where death may be your only escape?"
Hyuga Fuji watched impassively as Kinkaku and Ginkaku's chakra was drained.
Recalling everything that had just transpired, his eyes narrowed slightly.
"Your destination is the Pure Land, isn't it?"
The only dimension that Tobirama could possibly breach—and one that could potentially harm him—was the Pure Land itself.
A faint smile tugged at the corners of Fuji's lips.
It was an intriguing technique, to say the least.
