Naruto: The Medical Shinobi

The next day, Kakashi flickered near the same ANBU post where Ryu's ANBU guard was posted. He was in his regular Jonin attire. The ANBU greeted him. 

Kakashi opened his hidden eye and looked at Hamura House and said, "What the hell?"

The Sharingan can capture a vast amount of information, surpassing the capabilities of a normal eye. Additionally, it aids in faster brain processing by segmenting and preprocessing the data, reducing the burden on the user's brain. Still, the [Migraine Seal] was giving Kakashi and his brain a jolt. 

"The image of that house is flickering very fast. Faster than the conscious part of the brain can notice. And between flickers there is hidden information embedded into the images that overloads the unconscious part of the brain without the person realising. Even my Sharingan had trouble decoding this much information. Lord Third was right. But how did he achieve that with fuinjutsu?"

Kakashi was left speechless. He said, "I don't know about Byakugan, but even my Sharingan cannot peek into that house without going crazy."

Kakashi swiftly moved and materialised a few yards from his house, his Sharingan still active.

He thought, "So that's how he detects the presence without alerting the intruder. He is not sensing through the chakra but the disturbance in the air and ground the intruder makes while near his house. Those talismans are not for evil spirits but through those small fuinjutsu papers hanging around the perimeter of this house. They are not mere decorations. The moment I entered the range, they all rotated to face me. They can sense if disturbance is simply due to air movement or by an individual. If he had used chakra to detect the intruder, even an elite non-sensor would be able to feel it. Truly genius."

Before Kakashi closed, his Sharingan could knock on the door; it opened, and Dan was there to greet Kakashi.

Kakashi said, "The Hokage has sent me."

Dan tells him, "I didn't know that Hiruzen would send the best in the leaf village for just giving the pointers to an academy student."

Kakashi tells him, "I was looking forward to seeing Ryu, and when Lord Third provided that opportunity, I agreed."

"Come on in," Dan warmly invited Kakashi inside and led him to the training area at the back where Ryu was diligently practicing to extend the range of his mid-range jutsu, the Lightning Bolt.

Ryu's eyes widened in surprise at Kakashi's unexpected presence, but he extended a polite greeting nonetheless.

Dan tells him, "Kakashi here is on the Hokage's order to give you pointers on your lightning affinity."

Ryu asked, "Why would Lord Third ask him to do that?"

Dan replied, "It is to reward the Hamura Clan for its contribution to the development of funijutsu in the Leaf Village. The seal I created won such an award as it has impressed the Lord Third very much."

Kakashi eyed Dan for blatantly taking credit for the seal. Hiruzen had already told Kakashi that he suspects that Ryu has been experimenting and creating new seals and Dan has been covering for him.

Kakashi inside complains, "I do not like teaching kids. If not for trying to assess these barrier seals and the security measures around the house, I would not have agreed to this."

Kakashi tells Ryu, "I was surprised to hear that you have lightning affinity. I very much look forward to teaching you about it."

Ryu twitched his lips and thought, "Liar."

Dan moved back and watched from a distance.

-[Temporary Enhance] running on [Improved Eyesight] and [Peripheral Awareness].

-[Super Observation] activated

Ryu asks him, "Can you show me your most powerful lightning jutsu?"

Kakashi sighed, "This kid is troublesome. Asking straight for the most powerful jutsu."

"Ok, fine," he said, did a few hand seals fast, and grabbed his wrist. Lightning started to gather on his hand with a crackling sound—the sound of birds chirping.

"This jutsu is called Lightning Blade, but people also call it Chidori because of the sounds it makes," Kakashi said.

Kakashi dispelled the jutsu, looking at Ryu. Ryu was thinking hard, with his chin between his index finger and his thumb.

- Lightning Blade combines Lightning Nature manipulation to generate lightning and basic chakra-shaped manipulation to hold most of that lightning in hand in the form of a layered blade on hand.

Ryu effortlessly analysed Kakashi's jutsu, and the analysis was in line with what he already knew from watching anime. It was explained when Kakashi was helping to create Wind Rasen-Shuriken for Naruto. 

Still, Ryu asks him, "How were you able to hold something like lightning, which tends to dissipate as fast as it is generated?"

Kakashi replied, "You have good eyes."

He continued, "It takes chakra nature manipulation to generate it and chakra shape manipulation to hold on to it and give it a sharp shape. Holding on to lightning after generating it is indeed a very difficult task. There is too much wastage of chakra even if you succeed."

Ryu thought, "No kidding, the way I am now, I won't be able to do it once with my current chakra level even if I manage to learn and do it. Jutsu is cool and all, good for killing, but when it comes to efficiency, it's very poor. I guess that is the drawback all higher tiers of Jutsus have. Even Rasenghan has the same drawback."

His thoughts continued, "I will learn it for the sake of progress, but I don't think this will be my go-to jutsu. I need something more robust as well as efficient."

He then asked Kakashi, "Why don't you minimise the waste by using something like a kunai or a sword?"

Ryu pictured Sasuke after the timeskip. This was the main reason for him to use a sword with lightning. It increases the efficiency of the lightning blade by forming it on the blade itself that conducts lightning. Less chakra wastage and more sharpness. And because it is lightning and not wind, he does not need an expensive chakra metal sword.

"You are right, but you could do that, but you did not account for one thing." Kakashi said.

"What is it?" Ryu asked.

Kakshi explained, "First and foremost, I am a Ninjutsu specialist, and I need my hands free for performing handseals. Most of the ninjutsu I learnt, I cannot execute without hand seals. That's the disadvantage of learning ninjutsu of multiple affinities and not focusing on one. And secondly, I am not a kenjutsu expert. The first time I tried to use a blade, it broke because I was not very careful with it. Breaking the blade is the shame of the swordsmen." 

Ryu thought, "He is right. But thank God I don't have that disadvantage. My combination of [Editic Memory], [Muscle Memory], and [Parallel Thinking] together can execute my jutsus without the need for hand seals. But still, I need to build up the affinity for that, and that is by far not an easy task. No worries; I have time for now, and I will at least master all affinities to a basic level. 

Kakashi then gave a few more pointers about lightning affinity to Ryu. At the end of it, Ryu said, "Thank you, Mr. Kakashi, for your guidance."

Kakashi was about to leave when Ryu stopped him and said, "Wait, I have something I want to give you."

"There was no need; it was a favour the Hokage asked, so you don't need to give me anything." Kakashi replied.

"I insist. I cannot let you go empty-handed. If I have received something from you, I must give you something in return." Ryu said and took a scroll and presented it to Kakashi.

"This scroll contains a new kind of barrier seal developed by my grandfather that is currently not on the market. I hope you use it well."

Kakashi's single eye twitched as he thought, "Look at this kid lying. There are no microexpressions of lying on his face. This kid is a natural liar."

Kakashi was not thinking incorrectly, though. For the majority of this life, Ryu has been and will continue to be lying. Especially regarding the things he will create himself and all future recreations of others' inventions based on his knowledge from his past life.

Kakashi took the scroll and said, "Thank you then. See you next time."

With that, Kakashi left the Hamura house and went straight to the Hokage's office to report his findings. When he reached the Hokage's office and knocked.

He heard someone say, "It's Kakashi," from inside. Kakashi recognised this voice.

"Come in," he heard next, and he let himself in. He found the company of too many ANBU captains. All looked at Kakashi without his ANBU gear with surprise. 

Hiruzen, disregarding Kakashi's presence, addressed the ANBU captains, "Prepare for the strike. I will accompany you. Gather your teams and brief them on the mission details. You are all dismissed."

Kakashi noticed the grim expression Hiruzen had. He was quick to realise that something bad was about to happen if it had not already happened. From his experience, he could say that dispatching so many ANBU captains at once can only be bad news.
