Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Three Tomoe Sharingan
Ryosuke appreciated Might Guy's concern, but still insisted with determination:
"It's fine. My body can handle it."
And indeed, it could. No matter how severe the pain from training might be, after just one night of rest, Ryosuke's body would fully recover. That level of resilience was a cheat in itself.
Guy was moved by Ryosuke's resolve. While still worried, he had no choice but to trust him. After all, as long as he supervised closely, he could quickly get Ryosuke to the Konoha Hospital if something went wrong, preventing any permanent damage.
That entire afternoon, Ryosuke focused on training to open the Gate of Rest.
Might Guy stood nearby, silently guarding him.
In fact, he was so captivated by Ryosuke's dedication, he forgot to train himself.
By the end of the session, Ryosuke was so dizzy and exhausted that he collapsed to the ground. Guy immediately asked with concern:
"Ryosuke, do you need me to take you home?"
He was genuinely afraid Ryosuke might faint along the way, and that could be dangerous.
Ryosuke, still sprawled on the ground, felt the pain slowly ebbing. His mind was still hazy, but he was sure he'd recover after a bit of rest. He waved his hand.
"I'll be fine after a short break. I can head home myself."
Seeing that Ryosuke still had control over himself, Guy nodded and eventually left.
Afterward, Ryosuke stood on the Hokage Rock, gazing at the bright blue sky. His mood was excellent.
He had already gotten used to the pain of opening the Gate of Rest. While he hadn't fully unlocked it yet, he had reached halfway—which was a decent breakthrough. He was confident that soon he'd be able to fully open the second gate, just like the first.
As the gentle breeze blew past, he felt a rare sense of peace in Konoha.
He thought to himself, "If only the village could always remain this peaceful…"
But deep down, he knew such calm was an illusion.
The Uchiha clan's conflict with Konoha's leadership was beyond repair. True understanding between people was difficult, especially when generations of mistrust ran deep.
Which was why Ryosuke had to keep growing stronger—to protect those he cared about.
Though he was already doing much better physically, the lingering pain from training made him decide to skip seeing Kurenai that night. After a quick wash and dinner, he went straight to bed.
On the sixth and seventh day of his upcoming duel with Uchiha Inaho, Ryosuke kept to a strict schedule.
In the mornings, he trained using Saitama's (One Punch Man) regimen to boost his physical stats. In the afternoons, he stayed home to train the Eight Inner Gates, specifically mastering the Gate of Rest.
He didn't meet with Kurenai during these two days.
He had long since given up on "being human"—pain didn't bother him anymore.
Eventually, his perseverance paid off: he successfully opened the Gate of Rest.
As Might Guy had explained:
"The Gate of Rest removes the body's limit on fatigue, allowing it to rapidly recover energy and negate the exhaustion caused by the Gate of Opening."
Ryosuke already had excellent stamina, but now, with the Gate of Rest, he could fight much longer without tiring. His battle power had soared.
He began to look forward to his upcoming fight with Uchiha Inaho.
His opponent was a jōnin—someone who clearly possessed jōnin-level taijutsu.
But Ryosuke's current power with the Gate of Opening alone gave him 1.5x combat strength compared to his base.
With the Gate of Rest added, his power had reached 2x his base strength.
This kind of jump was worthy of the infamous difficulty and pain of mastering the Eight Gates.
He was ready to put Inaho in his place—someone who dared to mock him for training under Might Guy, claiming it brought shame to the Uchiha name.
He decided to rest well that night.
Tomorrow wasn't just a fight—it was also his long-awaited date night with Kurenai, when they'd finally become one, further advancing the Many Children, Much Fortune System.
The next morning, Ryosuke woke up early, as always, and headed to the wooded area near the Uchiha compound to train, warming up while awaiting Uchiha Inaho.
Just over a month ago, Ryosuke had only been a mid-level chūnin. But now, his taijutsu had undoubtedly reached the level of a jōnin.
He wasn't yet at Might Guy's peak—but easily equal to Guy's current strength.
Perhaps he had arrived too early, because Inaho hadn't shown up yet. So Ryosuke continued his daily physical training to increase his stats.
Soon after, Inaho finally arrived, bringing with him several members of the Uchiha clan.
They saw Ryosuke training his body and couldn't help but sneer internally.
"So what if he trains taijutsu with Guy? He's just a chūnin. Getting more muscular doesn't mean he's a match for us."
To them, Ryosuke was merely an upstart. They were elite Uchiha, each possessing a Three Tomoe Sharingan. In their eyes, his physical training was laughable.
Inaho stepped forward with a smirk.
"Are you ready? I'll make sure you lose convincingly."
The others shared his smugness, thinking this fight would be nothing but a joke.
After all, what could come from following Might Guy and practicing primitive taijutsu?
If it weren't for Ryosuke being the grandson of the clan's elder, they'd have already taught him a lesson. Now they had a perfect excuse under the name of a sparring match.
Ryosuke glared at Inaho, his fighting spirit surging. He raised his hand and beckoned.
"Come on, then."
At the same time, his Sharingan activated—now displaying two tomoe.
He had trained extensively using his Sharingan in combination with taijutsu to maximize his combat efficiency.
Inaho raised an eyebrow in mild surprise.
"Didn't he only have a one-tomoe Sharingan before? When did it evolve?"
Still, he sneered.
"Just a measly two tomoe Sharingan? That's pathetic."
He and the others behind him all possessed three tomoe Sharingan, the peak of the standard Sharingan.
There was a significant gap in 瞳力 (pupil power) between two and three tomoe.
The strength of a Sharingan's genjutsu, perception, and reaction all depended on pupil power—and a two-tomoe eye simply couldn't compare to theirs.
Just as Ryosuke was about to retort, a system notification rang in his mind.
"Your Sharingan has been ridiculed. In your anger, it has evolved to Three Tomoe."
At that moment, a third tomoe bloomed in each of his eyes.
He immediately felt a surge in visual clarity, perception, and chakra flow sensing.
Ryosuke grinned sarcastically.
"Well, now I have a Three Tomoe Sharingan too."
He had been annoyed by their mockery, but now it seemed to work in his favor.
The next step would be the Mangekyō Sharingan.
He even began to hope Inaho would continue insulting him—maybe it would push his eyes into awakening the ultimate dojutsu.
"The Mangekyō Sharingan… the true eye of Uchiha power."
He thought of Uchiha Itachi's Mangekyō: Tsukuyomi in the left eye, Amaterasu in the right. Every true Uchiha prodigy had their own unique Mangekyō ability.
Now Ryosuke had finally joined the elite.
And the battle was just beginning.
