Naruto: The Tale of an Otsutsuki

Chapter 144: Chapter 144: Farewell

After Minato teleported Anrokuzan away, Choza and Shibi immediately pursued him. Judging by their quick reaction, they seemed to have anticipated Minato's plan all along.

However, Kirito stayed behind, his attention shifting to Sara, who was guiding the remaining Rouran captives to safety.

Walking up to her, he asked, "Is everyone out?"

"Almost," Sara replied, glancing at the few people still lingering. "Once I escort these last ones, I'll join you to confront Anrokuzan. As Queen of Rouran, I must face him myself."

"You won't need to," Kirito said firmly. "You have a more important task. You need to go to the Dragon Vein's seal and close it completely."

"Exactly," TenTen chimed in. "Without the Dragon Vein's chakra, Anrokuzan won't pose a threat anymore."

Sara hesitated, then nodded. "I understand. But you must promise to come back safely after defeating him."

"Don't worry!" TenTen reassured her with a bright smile. "We'll be just fine. Wait for our good news!"

Kirito handed a small, unassuming seed to Sara. "Here. This is for after we're gone."

Sara took the seed, examining it curiously. "What is this?"

"After you seal the Dragon Vein, Rouran will no longer be a habitable place for long," Kirito explained. "When you find a suitable location, plant this seed. It will grow into a forest and give your people a new home."

"A forest? In the desert?" Sara asked, still unsure.

Kirito nodded. "The seed contains enough chakra to sprout and grow rapidly, even in harsh conditions. But once it takes root, you'll need to maintain it yourself. And be cautious—others might covet the forest or the power of the seed."

Sara stared at the seed in her hand, conflicted. Though she barely knew Kirito and TenTen, this gesture carried immense meaning. The responsibility of being a queen forced her to accept it.

Noticing her hesitation, TenTen stepped forward and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "We're friends, right? Take it without worry."

Tears welled up in Sara's eyes as she bowed deeply. "Thank you… truly."

"No need for that!" TenTen said cheerfully. "This adventure has been a blast, and we're glad to call you a friend."

"Will I ever see you again?" Sara asked, her voice trembling with emotion.

TenTen hesitated, then replied softly, "The next time we meet will likely be 20 years from now."

"Even if it's 20 years… I'll wait," Sara said resolutely, clutching the seed tightly.

Kirito placed a hand on TenTen's shoulder, prompting them to move. "It's time for us to go. Anrokuzan has completely lost control. If we don't stop him soon, Rouran could be destroyed."

"Goodbye, Sara!" TenTen waved as she followed Kirito onto the iron sand surfboard, which lifted them into the air.

"Goodbye! Stay safe!" Sara shouted, waving until they disappeared into the factory's depths. She turned back to the remaining captives, determined to lead them out and seal the Dragon Vein.

Aboard the Surfboard

As the surfboard glided through the crumbling factory, TenTen leaned against Kirito's back and asked curiously, "When did you get that seed? I didn't even see you take it out."

Kirito smirked. "I thought of it a few hours ago. After seeing what happens to Rouran in the future, I figured Sara and her people would need a way to start fresh. The seed seemed like the best solution."

"But it's the desert," TenTen pointed out. "How will it grow without water?"

"Water's just a medium," Kirito replied. "The seed contains chakra that will ensure it germinates and grows."

"Ahh, I envy people like you who can use chakra so freely," TenTen said with a mock pout, then grinned. "Still, that was a nice gesture."

Kirito glanced back. "The battle's almost over. Want to impress the Fourth Hokage? I'll give you the opening move."

TenTen's eyes lit up. "Really? Count me in!"

She eagerly pulled out a scroll, unsealing an even larger one from it. Hoisting it onto her shoulder, she said with a determined grin, "Let me take the first shot."

"Go ahead," Kirito said, stepping aside.

The Battle with Anrokuzan

In the distance, Anrokuzan had transformed into a massive centipede-like monster, absorbing countless puppets through his chakra threads. His grotesque form loomed as large as a tower, locked in a fierce struggle with Choza, who had used the Super Multi-Size Technique to match his size.

Though Choza's strength was formidable, Anrokuzan's regeneration from the Dragon Vein's chakra made him nearly unstoppable.

Just as Minato was strategizing how to take down the giant puppet, he spotted two familiar figures approaching on the horizon. "That's…"

With the wind whipping her hair, TenTen leaped from the surfboard, tossing her massive scroll into the air. Performing a series of hand signs, she shouted, "Ninja Art: Manipulated Tool Barrage!"

The scroll unfurled, revealing an array of densely packed sealing spells. In an instant, countless kunai and shuriken rained down like a meteor shower, completely covering Anrokuzan's massive form.

Anrokuzan waved his enormous arms, attempting to deflect the projectiles. "You think simple tools can stop me?!"

"Not so fast!" TenTen made another hand sign, and the weapons in midair began to glow. Each kunai and shuriken channeled one or two explosive tags that ignited on impact.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Explosions erupted across Anrokuzan's body in rapid succession, each detonation forcing him back. The relentless barrage shook the ground, sending tremors rippling through the city. Even Sara, far away, could feel the vibrations.

Minato and his team, caught off guard by the sheer scale of the assault, had to retreat temporarily. "What power…" Minato muttered, awestruck. "Are all future Konoha ninjas this strong?"

Meanwhile, Kirito, watching from above, chuckled. "You said I was extravagant, but the money you just burned made even me wince."

TenTen wiped a tear from her eye. "Don't remind me… You're covering my meals for the next month."

Kirito laughed. "Deal. I'll finish this off."

Leaping from the surfboard, Kirito descended into the cloud of smoke and dust. Amid the chaos, Anrokuzan's body was in ruins—his massive form riddled with damage. Only his head and one arm remained functional.

"Hehehe… Even so, I am immortal," Anrokuzan sneered, his wounds beginning to heal.

But before he could recover fully, Kirito landed on his head, placing a firm hand on his forehead.

"What… what are you doing?!" Anrokuzan roared, panic creeping into his voice. For the first time, the Dragon Vein's chakra didn't respond to his call.

"You rely too much on this power," Kirito said calmly. "Now, let's end this."

Anrokuzan felt a strange sensation as Kirito's chakra surged through him. His vision blurred, and his mind grew faint.

"Human Path: Soul Extraction" Kirito whispered.

Anrokuzan's monstrous body convulsed as his soul was forcibly extracted. His roars of defiance faded, leaving behind only silence.
