Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Yin Release!
Chapter 10: Yin Release!
"So… the peaceful days are over again, huh?"
Early in the morning, inside the Anbu headquarters, Haruta yawned as he walked inside.
Their recovery period had lasted longer than expected, giving Haruta plenty of time to slack off and enjoy himself.
He couldn't help but sigh—if only things had been this relaxed back when he was in Root.
"At least I wouldn't have spent every day thinking about how to kill Danzo, right?"
After casually greeting a few people around him, Haruta's thoughts drifted to his dear boss—the very man responsible for his miserable childhood.
And just thinking about him pissed Haruta off.
Especially since the old bastard had forced him to write a report while he was still enjoying his "sweet, sweet revenge"—aka doing nothing.
And the content of that report?
He had to detail everything about his mission, including his interactions with Uchiha Shisui.
"So basically, you just want intel on Shisui and Naruto, huh?"
Of course, it wasn't just the report—Haruta knew damn well that Danzo had probably already sent people to investigate the situation.
Hell, the old fox had definitely spoken with the Third Hokage about it too.
After all, there was no way Hiruzen would let Danzo establish any sort of connection with Naruto.
"Heh… I bet that old geezer even took the blame on purpose."
Haruta smirked to himself.
He had a clean background, so he had nothing to worry about.
More importantly, he knew exactly what Danzo's goal was.
The old man wanted to be Hokage—but you needed fame and recognition for that.
Haruta had made up his mind:
From now on, he would make sure that Danzo's name echoed throughout the entire ninja world.
Whether it was world-renowned or world-despised… well, he wouldn't comment on that.
After all, his system only had one rule:
"Complete the mission."
It didn't care how he did it.
"So why should I care either?"
---
As he made his way deeper into the Anbu base, Haruta soon spotted Yuugao and Shisui, who were already waiting for him.
They had clearly arrived much earlier than he had.
Seeing him approach, they greeted him.
"You're late."
"Good morning, Haruta-kun."
Yuugao's tone was cool but warm, while Shisui… well, he looked a little awkward.
Their first meeting hadn't exactly gone well.
Haruta's one-liner, "Are you questioning Lord Hokage?", had scared the hell out of Shisui.
After all, Shisui had always wanted to prove his loyalty and help his clan reintegrate into Konoha.
But after listening to Haruta and Yuugao's explanation, Shisui had been left with a painful realization—
He had actually questioned the Hokage's decision.
"Damn it… what have I done?"
No matter how bad the rumors were, Naruto had always remained in Konoha—because that was Hiruzen's choice.
So in a way… he had indirectly doubted the Hokage?
"I'm such an idiot…"
"I think my timing is perfect," Haruta grinned. "I bet even Lord Hokage hasn't started work yet."
Then, his gaze landed on Shisui.
"Good morning, Shisui-senpai."
Of course, Haruta could see how uncomfortable Shisui was.
But seeing him now only put Haruta in an even better mood.
Because Shisui had unexpectedly given him a massive windfall!
Danzo had forced him to write a report, and—just as Haruta had expected—his system had turned it into an actual mission.
And naturally, missions came with rewards.
So despite wanting to slack off, Haruta had gritted his teeth and written the best report he could.
And once he submitted it, his system notification appeared—
[Mission Completed: Write a Report]
[Mission Rating: A]
[Reward Obtained: Yin Release]
[Free Point +1]
"Just for writing a damn report, I got a Free Point? That's already amazing!"
But what really shocked him was the Yin Release reward.
---
Yin and Yang Release were innate fundamental forces—essentially the spiritual and physical aspects of chakra.
Every shinobi possessed them, but manifesting and controlling them was incredibly difficult.
The Akimichi, Nara, and Yamanaka clans weren't considered Kekkei Genkai clans, yet they still held significant power in the ninja world.
Why?
Because they mastered secret techniques that harnessed Yin and Yang Release.
Haruta knew his physical stats were already high, meaning his Yin and Yang potential should be strong as well.
But until now, he had never been able to actively use them.
And then, just by writing about Shisui, he had somehow unlocked Yin Release?!
"Does that mean… if my future missions involve Akimichi, 'Kai' from Root, or even Tsunade, I might unlock Yang Release too?"
The ninja world was full of fresh crops waiting to be harvested.
As long as he was involved in some way, he had a chance at earning rewards.
The realization fired him up with motivation.
"But… my Yin Release… why does it feel so similar to Madara's version?"
Shisui's Yin Release: Genjutsu Variant was more illusion-based.
Meanwhile, Madara's Yin Release: Thunder Style was focused on enhancing raw power.
And the version Haruta received?
It seemed to boost his stats directly.
Not that he was complaining.
After all, his system wasn't just about increasing numbers—it also provided him with knowledge and training methods.
So if he studied deeply enough, he might eventually be able to fully control Yin Release.
And when that time came…
"Maybe… just maybe… I can try fusion."
In the world of Naruto, power came from bloodlines—from connections to the Otsutsuki Clan.
Haruta had none of that.
So he had to find another way.
---
"Alright, let it go already."
Yuugao sighed, watching Haruta grin at Shisui.
She reached out and pulled him aside, frowning slightly.
"The whole village thinks that way. Shisui-senpai just had a delayed reaction, that's all."
"Yuugao-senpai, do I really seem like the type to hold grudges?"
Haruta pretended to be offended.
In his heart, he believed he was a very generous person!
Sure, he never forgot about Danzo's "kindness", and sure, he constantly thought about betraying his boss…
But didn't that just mean he kept Danzo close to his heart?
"It's fine," Shisui spoke up, wanting to smooth things over.
"This was my fault—I lacked awareness. It's only right that I was called out for it."
But when he saw Haruta raise an eyebrow, Shisui suddenly realized—
"Wait… did I just confirm that Haruta was right to criticize me?!"
Panicked, he quickly changed the subject.
"Let's get ready. We need to report to the Hokage.
I heard this mission is going to be difficult."
"Difficult?"
Haruta's eyes lit up.
A harder mission meant better rewards!
Sure, he valued his life, but…
This time, he had Uchiha Shisui on his team.
"Doesn't that mean my survival rate just skyrocketed?!"
His excitement for the mission instantly doubled.
