Naruto: Uchiha Madara's Cousin

Chapter 4: 4. Strength Evaluation

The glaringly marked "cleared" on the report was particularly conspicuous. Senju Kawarama, the son of Senju Butsuma, had also been assassinated, indicating that the war had entered a highly intense stage.

However, for Uchiha Gin, who had not yet fully adapted to his new identity, the idea of killing a child under ten was something he couldn't accept in his heart.

But given the current situation, he could only take things one step at a time.

"The Hagoromo Clan has already taken down the Senju Clan's third son. We need to step up our game too!"

Uchiha Fuka looked at the group, who were seriously studying the situation, and decided to cheer them up.

"Is it really okay to target such young children?"

Unable to hold back, Uchiha Gin quietly asked Uchiha Ryoichi beside him, which drew a surprised look from the latter.

"Weren't you the most eager for this mission? You kept charging ahead, exposing our position and causing us to fight the Senju Clan for a long time before escaping."

Uchiha Ryoichi asked in confusion.

Uchiha Gin felt something was wrong.

Although he had received the original owner's memories, he had been too shocked and overwhelmed by the short time and forgot much of what the original owner had done.

Most people wouldn't place themselves into roles from movies they've watched, preferring to view things as an observer.

Watching him do it ≠ Me doing it.

Realizing this, Uchiha Gin showed an embarrassed expression and pointed to his head, which was still wrapped in bandages.

"I got punched by someone from the Senju Clan, hit my head on a rock, and my recent memories have been scrambled. Sorry about that."

Seeing Uchiha Gin's injury, Uchiha Ryoichi nodded in understanding.

Considering Uchiha Gin's level, surviving a punch from a Senju Clan powerhouse without having his internal organs shattered was already a stroke of luck.

Seeing that his excuse worked, Uchiha Gin used the chance of flipping through the documents to calm down and revisit the original owner's memories.

However, starting from a few years ago, the memories were fragmented, like an old VCD playing with stuttered frames, making it difficult for him to piece everything together.

After a moment, Uchiha Gin snapped back to reality, with a glimmer in his eyes, finally understanding the reckless actions of the previous Uchiha Gin.

Due to the war, Uchiha Gin lost his parents at the age of eight.

Uchiha Tajima, who had not yet become the clan leader, took him in.

Two years later, Tajima became the clan leader, married, and had children.

He always treated Uchiha Gin like his own. Uchiha Gin was more like a son to him than a nephew.

As the eldest brother figure among Tajima's children, the teenage Uchiha Gin took on the responsibility of protecting the clan leader's sons.

But war is brutal, and an enemy's blade won't spare a child.

Anyone standing in their way, regardless of age or gender, was seen as an enemy.

During one battle, the Uchiha territory was ambushed.

Uchiha Tajima had taken all the young fighters to the frontlines, leaving only women and children behind.

Uchiha Gin, as the protector of Tajima's family, stayed back to guard them.

Lacking strength, Uchiha Gin was defeated quickly.

The ruthless enemies pried open his eyes and slaughtered Tajima's wife and three young sons before his eyes.

"What a waste. Not even this can make you open your eyes. A useless piece of trash."

The assailants laughed at the pale-faced Uchiha Gin.

The enemies slaughtered everyone in the territory, leaving only Uchiha Gin, who had screamed himself hoarse.

To them, someone like him would never pose any threat, no matter how much he might grow.

When the enemies finally left, Uchiha Gin knelt among the corpses for three days, unaware of the rotting stench surrounding him.

When Uchiha Tajima returned to see the horrific scene, his Sharingan shed bloody tears.

Thankfully, his eldest son Madara and his second son Izuna had been taken to the battlefield, sparing them from the massacre.

As for Uchiha Gin, the sole survivor, Tajima never pursued any accountability.

To him, Gin was already broken, as good as dead.

"Although it makes sense, these memories feel too scripted, like they're made to be tragic on purpose," Uchiha Gin muttered.

In the original owner's memories, the Uchiha clan had investigated the incident, but their methods were limited, and the enemy's actions were well-disguised.

There were no signs of ninjutsu at the scene; everyone had died from physical wounds, leaving the case unresolved.

The original owner, despite witnessing the attack, didn't recognize the enemy's techniques.

He only saw someone pull a "weapon" from their body to kill, but because it was dark, he couldn't clearly see what it was.

But as a reincarnated soul familiar with the Naruto lore, Uchiha Gin immediately identified the weapon as the attacker's bones.

Throughout the series, only the Kaguya clan, banished overseas by the Uchiha and Senju, or Kaguya Ōtsutsuki sealed on the moon, could wield bones as weapons.

Uchiha Gin's mind spun wildly, trying to piece together the truth behind this incident.

"If the Kaguya clan were the culprits, how did they infiltrate Uchiha territory? Do we have a traitor among us? A betrayer like Obito?"

Even after identifying the true culprits, Uchiha Gin remained calm. After all, he wasn't the original Uchiha Gin.

The priority now was to evaluate his own strength, as it was crucial to his survival. The original Gin was weaker than even a ten-year-old Madara before he awakened his Sharingan.

Such low combat prowess left Uchiha Gin deeply concerned, prompting him to review the power hierarchy based on his memories.

Since the current era didn't yet classify ninjas as Genin, Chunin, and Jonin, strength could be roughly ranked as follows: Leader, Elder, General Captain, Captain, and Ordinary Combatant.

This could loosely correspond to Leader - Kage level, Elder - pseudo-Kage, General Captain - Elite Jonin, Captain - Jonin, and Ordinary Combatant - Special Jonin or Chunin, with the lowest rank as Genin.

Uchiha Tajima, Senju Butsuma, Uzumaki Arina of the Uzumaki clan, and Sarutobi Yukimura of the Sarutobi clan were all Kage-level warriors.

The second-in-command and elders of each clan were pseudo-Kage, whose battle power could rival Kage level when pushed to the brink.

His team leader, Uchiha Fuka, who had awakened the three-tomoe Sharingan, was somewhere between Elite Jonin and Jonin level. Uchiha Ryoichi, with his two-tomoe Sharingan, was likely a Special Jonin or Chunin.

As for the original Uchiha Gin, his situation was bleak. He had yet to awaken his Sharingan, his taijutsu was mediocre, his kenjutsu barely passable, and his only ninjutsu was the non-lethal "Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu."

His only redeeming skill was his decent shuriken accuracy.

Overall assessment: Bottom-tier.

In short, he's a cannon fodder.
