Chapter 445: Ch.445 Misjudgment!
Tap tap.
Tap tap.
The sound of Uchiha Shinji lightly striking the round table echoed not only through the mysterious and eerie 'Jikibi Space' but also in the hearts of everyone present.
All those seated around the round table fixed their gazes on Shinji, awaiting his orders.
For these children, averaging only ten years old, the complex and chaotic situation in the Land of Grass had far exceeded their ability to handle.
The bloody cruelty of the demons was also relentlessly assaulting their minds.
The only one they could rely on now was the mysterious yet dependable leader seated at the head of the table!
At this moment, Shinji paid no heed to the thoughts of those around him, still deep in contemplation.
Once the players on the chessboard were reduced to four, he began to analyze the relationships between them and every possible point he could exploit.
"I've been operating under the name of the Akatsuki, which has definitely misled the demons. That's why they previously disguised themselves as the Akatsuki to attack shinobi from the five great shinobi villages, attempting to use their power to suppress me."
"But the demons don't know that my Akatsuki is a fake, so they've set their sights on the real Akatsuki, later ambushing the Hidden Rain Village."
"I shouldn't have exposed my identity during this time."
"Nagato, who's dedicated to intimidating the shinobi world single-handedly to create lasting peace, would never secretly ally with monsters like the demons."
"So the Akatsuki and the demons should still be in opposition."
This realization explained why the Akatsuki had appeared in the Land of Grass. The demons' various actions targeting the Akatsuki had forced them to respond.
And so, a point to exploit emerged!
Due to Shinji's initial casual misdirection, the mysterious 'Lampbearer' from the Demon Slayer world had made a misjudgment, assuming the 'Lampbearer' of the shinobi world was the leader of the Akatsuki.
If the Land of Grass was a carefully laid trap by the enemy, as long as Shinji didn't recklessly reveal himself, the target of this hunt would likely be Nagato, who had unwittingly taken the blame for him!
With his decision made, Shinji immediately stopped tapping the table. His gaze swept over those seated around the round table as he began assigning tasks.
Under the dim yellow glow of the setting sun, a force of approximately five hundred Hidden Leaf shinobi, personally led by the Third Hokage, was stationed at the border between the Land of Fire and the Land of Grass.
Swish swish swish.
At that moment, accompanied by the sound of rushing wind, several Anbu landed before the Third.
"Hokage-sama, the Land of Grass's daimyo has approved our entry request and has officially sent a plea for aid to the Hidden Leaf. Here is the document!"
The Anbu reported while presenting the document signed by the Land of Grass's daimyo.
The Third, clad in battle attire, accepted the document but didn't rush to open it. His gaze shifted to the Anbu beside him.
The Anbu quickly reported, "Hokage-sama, we've successfully contacted the Hidden Mist. The Fourth Mizukage has already led their shinobi forces into the Land of Grass ahead of us and is currently advancing toward the Hidden Grass Village! Based on travel estimates, the shinobi forces from the Hidden Cloud, Hidden Stone, and Hidden Sand should also have entered the Land of Grass by now!"
The Third nodded and turned to the last Anbu. "Still no word from the reconnaissance team?"
The questioned Anbu replied, "My apologies, we haven't been able to contact the reconnaissance team yet! However, based on their last transmission, they scattered and broke through after being ambushed. They should still be lingering near the Hidden Grass Village area."
Hearing this, the Third decisively waved his hand. "All forces, move out!"
"Yes!"
The Hidden Leaf shinobi army responded with a thunderous affirmation.
As the Hidden Leaf forces crossed the border into the Land of Grass, a bird's-eye view from high above would reveal that the five great shinobi villages were advancing from five different directions, like a vast net closing in on the Hidden Grass Village.
Though each village had received intelligence that the demons could only operate at night, the five shinobi armies didn't hesitate, all choosing to march through the night. In their eyes, the threat wasn't just the demons!
Before long, battles between the demons and the shinobi armies erupted across the Land of Grass.
As the fighting broke out, the shinobi armies of the five villages came to a stark realization: the scale of the demons far exceeded their prior expectations.
In the days since the Hidden Grass Village fell, large numbers of demons from the Demon Slayer world had been transported into the Land of Grass. Taking advantage of the collapse of order, they had been voraciously preying on the Hidden Grass Village's shinobi, amassing chakra.
When the shinobi armies of the five villages advanced into the Land of Grass, they encountered this massive group of demons, brimming with chakra and in peak condition.
In an instant, nearly the entire Land of Grass became a battlefield of fierce combat!
In the underground palace of the Hidden Grass Village, a figure draped in a haori, with a lamp hanging at their waist, sat at the head of the hall, coldly observing the gathered crowd.
In the hall, two distinct groups stood on either side.
On the left were the Upper Rank demons, their pupils inscribed with the kanji for 'Upper Rank.' They were led by the demonized Tanjiro, 'Upper Rank One,' followed by Kokushibo, 'Upper Rank Two,' the eyeless Nakime obscured by her hair, the giant demon of 'Upper Rank Five,' and Kaigaku of 'Upper Rank Six.'
On the right stood a group of swordsmen, all wielding blades at their waists.
The figure at the head first glanced over the 'Upper Rank demons' on the left, then shifted their gaze to the swordsmen on the right, speaking in a flat tone. "I know the humiliation you feel deep down, but the situation has reached this point. We have no other choice!"
Among the swordsmen, a tall figure stepped forward. It was none other than the Stone Hashira, Gyomei Himejima.
The Stone Hashira pressed his hands together. "If our world manages to survive, please honor your promise to ensure that in the future, only you, the sole demon, will exist!"
"Hmph, so you're saying we all have to die?"
Kokushibo, 'Upper Rank Two,' let out a cold snort from the opposite side.
The Stone Hashira turned to Kokushibo. "Exactly!"
Clang!
Kokushibo drew the long blade at his waist. "You think you can do it!?"
The Stone Hashira pressed his hands together again. "It won't be me who kills you, just as it won't be you who kills me!"
Kokushibo's face showed confusion. "What do you mean?"
The Stone Hashira spoke slowly. "We'll do whatever it takes to save our world, and the shinobi of this world will fight just as desperately to save theirs! So we'll all die here!"
The 'Upper Rank demons' grew restless at his words, while the swordsmen remained calm.
The swordsmen had become demons to gain the strength needed to save their world. In their world, creatures like demons shouldn't exist at all. Thus, dying in the shinobi world, on the battlefield to save their own, was the best fate for the swordsmen!
The figure with the lamp at their waist rose from the head of the hall, spreading their arms wide. "Go, corrupt! Go, slaughter! Draw that person out, and I will personally deal with him, ending this conflict and saving our world!"
