Naruto: Uchiha's Intelligence Dealer

Chapter 27: Chapter 027: A Day at Ninja School

After putting a lock of Sasuke's hair into the scroll, Yun opened the secret compartment under the bed and placed it inside.

Looking at the two scrolls in the hidden space, he reflected silently. The three-quarter section of Obito's arm could serve as a medium between Hashirama and Obito, but as for Sasuke's hair—it would have to wait. Only time would tell if it worked.

But forging a deal with Sasuke at this point was impossible. What did a one-year-old child know? He couldn't even speak clearly. Trying to make a deal with him would be like negotiating with a cow.

Moreover, there was still uncertainty about whether Indra's chakra resided in Sasuke at this stage. The Sage of Six Paths never specified when it came into being. Did it arrive with reincarnation or awakened at some specific time?

*Bang*

Gently closing the secret compartment, Yun sat on the bed, deep in thought about the Wood-style seal.

As he recalled, hashirama never formed seals for techniques. He simply clapped his hands together, and whatever he called out manifested. Both Hashirama and Madara had done the same.

Hand seals were originally created by Indra, who discovered that they could guide chakra. But did Indra and Ashura need hand seals themselves?

The Sage of Six Paths clearly didn't use them. And Hashirama could unleash Wood-style with just the Ram seal. But in Yun's memory, when he sealed the Nine-Tails, he did need to perform hand signs.

Even Madara had used seals for his Fire-style ∙ Majestic Destroyer Flame, and also during the summoning of the Nine-Tails.

In the early part of the series, the Second Hokage used the same hand seals for both Water-style ∙ Water Wall and other water techniques.

So... was there no consistent logic?

Yun scratched his head. His clone, Sora, had been practicing altering the chakra properties of water and earth. Once Wood-style was achieved, techniques like Wood-style ∙ Deep Forest Emergence would be essential.

But the Scroll of Seals stored in the Hokage building was hard to obtain, and Yun had to maintain his persona. Failing just to learn a few Wood-style techniques would be too costly.

It seemed he would have to develop them himself.

The next day, Izumi was stunned to see his brother going to school in person.

"Not a shadow clone?"

Yun smiled helplessly. "Yesterday's incident was a bit serious. I'm a little worried about just sending a clone."

Honestly, the seriousness didn't matter. What mattered was that Yun discovered something troubling—his shadow clone had no fear. With just a little provocation, it had been ready to take on the entire senior class.

They'd just finished a fight yesterday, and it probably wasn't over yet.

What if one or two Chūnin or even Jōnin came today, and the clone defeated them again?

Wouldn't that mean he'd have to graduate alongside Itachi? How could he live like that?

Being a student at the academy was perfect. Shadow clones could do the studying while he basked in the sun, practiced ninjutsu on the Hokage Rock, and ate barbecue leisurely.

Why would he want to be a Genin? Missions involved catching cats, cleaning sewers, or even picking up trash downstream. Completely unappealing.

Upon entering the classroom, Yun walked over to Itachi and glanced at him. "Shadow clone again?"

Itachi nodded. "My main body went to train. There's not much left to learn here."

Yun chuckled and patted his shoulder. "Then I guess you're getting beaten up again today."

Leaving behind a cryptic comment that puzzled Itachi, Yun walked over to Tokuma and Hana. He never sat with Itachi in class—it drew too much attention.

As soon as he sat down, Inuzuka Hana turned to him. "Is it your real body or a shadow clone today? That trick of yours is really useful. I want to play with dogs at home too, but my mom won't teach me."

"Real body today." Yun replied. "By the way, do you have a younger brother—Inuzuka Kiba?"

Hana blinked, flustered. "Why are you asking about my family? My brother's only one year old... it's not like it matters..."

"Don't get the wrong idea. I'm not interested in you. Uh... or your brother."

Those words nearly made Hana erupt. If Tokuma hadn't intervened, Yun might've had to flee.

He really had only asked because it popped into his mind. After all, it would be interesting if the future Twelve Little Champions were shaken by his butterfly effect.

After calming down, Hana resolved to ignore Yun for three days.

Tokuma leaned over and nudged him. "You know, Hana's actually pretty cute. But seriously, why'd you show up in person today?"

Yun sighed. "Didn't we beat up all the senior students yesterday? Something's bound to happen today. If I sent a shadow clone again, it might tear down the entire school."

Tokuma blinked and laughed. "If you do that, I'll give you my pocket money for the month. We would get at least two months off!"

'Haha... you're overthinking.'

Since the Fourth Hokage was still alive, Yamato had already joined Kakashi's Anbu team by this period.

His Three-Bedroom and One-Living-Room Technique showed what true infrastructure speed looked like.

The peaceful day passed slowly. Yun spent most of it cutting leaves under his desk.

When school finally ended, as expected, four Genin blocked the school gate.

"Brother, it's him!"

'Oh shit!'

Yun quickly sidestepped, just in time to see Itachi's shadow clone get surrounded.

After a flurry of punches and kicks, the clone dissipated with a bang. One of the attackers looked familiar—Tenma and his brother?

If Yun remembered right, this batch was supposed to graduate with Itachi. There was also a girl named Shinko, who'd be Itachi's teammate and the reason he'd later unlock his two-tomoe Sharingan.

No wonder Tenma had beef with Itachi in the original timeline.

"A clone technique?"

"Another Uchiha? Don't let him get away!"

"These freshmen are too arrogant. Beating up my brother... from now on, I'll block him after every mission!"

"Nii-san is so cool..."

As seven or eight Genin approached him, Yun couldn't help but shake his head. Ignorance truly was bliss.

Civilian-born ninja picking fights with Konoha's elite clans—it was just like those fools who beat up the future Hyūga heiress in his memories. Kids didn't see consequences; they just fought.

"Kid! You're the one who hit my brother?"

Before the sentence ended, a cold sensation touched his neck. Yun had vanished.

*Ding ding...*

Four forehead protectors clattered to the ground.

Yun stood behind them, kunai pressed to the leader's neck.

"That Uchiha Itachi used a shadow clone. It's a real physical body—completely different from the basic Clone Technique."

"And just now, I used pure speed to snatch your forehead protectors. I've already captured you. Tell me—do you really want to keep blocking me every day?"

Yun lowered his kunai and tossed back the protectors. "Yesterday I fought students who weren't yet ninja. But you? You've graduated. That means you should be ready to die at any time."

As Yun disappeared from view, the four Genin finally let out a shaky breath.

"A shadow clone? No way..."

"That speed... he's a monster. And he just enrolled."

'Phew...'

Not far away, Yun exhaled slowly. That was close. He'd almost ended up like his clone.

He couldn't let himself get beaten again—not when he planned to stay here a few more years.

Fire Release, genjutsu, ninjutsu, shadow clones—he had Shisui's approval to study all of them. Once he gained the Mangekyō, he could start using them in earnest.
