Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

The second stage of the Chunin Exams was the classic Heaven and Earth Scroll survival test. Each team, possessing either a Heaven Scroll or an Earth Scroll, entered the Death Forest.

Teams had to survive three days, collect at least one set of Heaven and Earth Scrolls, and reach the tower in the exam area. Each team started with only one scroll, meaning at least half would be eliminated. If stronger teams attacked others to eliminate more competitors, the pass rate would decrease further.

As the second round began, Yusuke and Minato watched from Konoha's monitoring room. Normally, this wouldn't warrant their attention, but this was the first joint Chunin Exam, and they were heavily involved in its planning.

The monitoring system used cameras and closed-circuit television. Konoha ninjas had placed cameras throughout the Death Forest to observe the participants, allowing for both observation and emergency rescue.

Watching Naruto on the monitor, Yusuke smiled and asked Minato, "I hear Naruto can use the Flying Thunder God Technique. He inherited your spatial talent. Even I and my disciples couldn't master it."

Minato showed pride, "Naruto inherited my spatial talent and Kushina's Uzumaki physique. His achievements will surpass mine!"

Minato then asked, "By the way, any progress on what I asked you to do?"

Yusuke frowned, shaking his head. "I have two methods, but neither is perfect. The Research Institute needs more time."

Minato nodded, "Understood. Thank you for your help."

Yusuke waved, "We're friends."

Minato had asked Yusuke to find a body for Kushina's soul. Yusuke had two plans: the first was to clone a body using Kushina's cells.

However, this presented ethical dilemmas. The clone would have consciousness, like a newborn Kushina. For Kushina to possess the clone, the clone's soul would die. Knowing Minato and Kushina, Yusuke knew they wouldn't agree to this.

The other option was to create a body using White Zetsu cells. This body would be a soulless shell to hold Kushina's soul. White Zetsu cells were highly malleable; in the Fourth Great Ninja War, they could change into anyone's form. This wasn't a transformation jutsu; it was a true form change. Only those with strong negative emotions could distinguish them.

But this method wasn't perfected yet; were still researching. If successful, it could create artificial bodies and organs, solving many medical problems.

"Let's not tell Minato the principle of this technology. Otherwise, every time he's intimate with Kushina, thinking of White Zetsu will be my fault!"

Yusuke thought, watching Minato.

As they observed, the second round began, teams entering the Death Forest from different entrances. The second round lasted three days; strong teams would aim for a quick victory, collecting scrolls and waiting near the assembly point. Their strength would deter attacks.

Weaker teams would conserve energy, avoiding stronger teams and targeting weaker ones. The weakest teams would hide, hoping for a chance to benefit from conflicts between stronger teams.

Yusuke and Minato focused on the top teams, especially those from the Five Great Nations.

The teams showed different approaches. Gaara's team quickly killed a small village's team, seemingly enjoying killing, regardless of scrolls.

Kurotsuchi quickly found Yakumo Kurama using a secret technique and headed towards her, planning to team up with her.

Ōmoï's and Suigetsu's teams acted more normally, hiding and seeking suitable opponents.

Besides the Five Great Nations teams were also top contenders.

"This joint Chunin Exam is full of strong ninjas. Each village sent their best to compete for a good ranking. It won't be easy to win,"

Minato said, smiling.

Yusuke smiled without comment. He believed Yakumo Kurama would win. He hadn't seen any genin who could resist her genjutsu.
