Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

Seeing the chubby Daimyō of the Land of Wind, Rasa erupted into laughter. He had planned to kill him. The Daimyō was self-indulgent and mismanaged the Land of Wind, weakening its power. He also constantly cut Sunagakure's military budget; if Rasa hadn't used Magnet Release to mine gold in the desert, Sunagakure wouldn't have been able to function.

"You're a waste of space, unworthy of being Daimyō. Today's your death day!"

Rasa created dozens of thin, needle-like projectiles from his Magnet Release. They shot towards the Daimyō. These weren't actual needles but condensed iron sand; they'd disperse without chakra control.

However, Yusuke, guarding the Land of Fire Daimyō, was close enough. He used Body Flicker Technique to intercept the attack, turning the projectiles to dust.

Yusuke didn't care about the Land of Wind Daimyō's life or death; a foolish Daimyō deserved to die. But sometimes, foolish allies are the best.

A plan requiring the Daimyō's cooperation formed in Yusuke's mind—the first step towards unifying the ninja world.

"Others fear useless teammates, but this one can't die!"

Yusuke stopped Rasa's attack.

"As Konoha, a friendly partner of the Land of Wind, we cannot tolerate the Fourth Kazekage and Sunagakure's actions!"

Yusuke declared righteously. The Daimyō, realizing what was happening, squatted down, urinating himself.

Most civilians were evacuated; only Konoha's Military Police and Anbu remained. Some ninjas from other villages stayed to watch, curious to see what forces Sunagakure had allied with against Konoha. They chose safe spots, ready to escape. A battle between many strong ninjas from two villages was dangerous.

"Fourth Kazekage, you'll fight me."

Yello Flash, Minato used Flying Thunder God Technique to move Naruto, who was being chased by Shukaku, to safety. He stood before Rasa, his expression serious.

Then, powerful chakra enveloped the arena. Pain appeared as a phantom on the tallest tower. Everyone looked at him.

Pain's unusual eyes and chakra emanating from him created an oppressive atmosphere. Everyone felt a sense of pressure and inexplicable tension.

It was like a predator's natural intimidation of prey. Everyone felt like mortals before a god.

"Those eyes…are they the legendary Rinnegan?"

"It's the Rinnegan! That form, that overwhelming chakra!"

Ninjas who knew of the Rinnegan exclaimed, causing a commotion. Some fled; others stayed to see how Konoha would react to the legendary eyes.

"Uchiha Yusuke, the strongest ninja, how will you face the Rinnegan?"

Samui thought, watching Yusuke and Pain. Many ninjas wondered the same.

"This is an unprecedented battle! You can leave; I'm staying," Ōnoki said, retreating with his Iwagakure team, but Kurotsuchi wanted to watch.

Ōnoki sighed; he couldn't control his daughter. He decided to stay; he was also eager to see the battle.

Like a god surveying mortals, Pain scanned the crowd, finally fixing his gaze on Yusuke.

"Uchiha Yusuke, you're the only one in the ninja world worthy of my attention. Our last fight was unsatisfying. Today, we settle this,"

Pain's voice was icy.

Yusuke remained calm, "Pain, remember ten years ago, I spared you. You were victims of Danzō and Hanzo's schemes. I didn't kill you."

"But today, as an aggressor, I won't show mercy!"

From their conversation, the audience learned Pain's name. Yusuke knew him, had fought him, and had a ten-year history with him.

The Akatsuki members were surprised; they only recently learned Pain wasn't the leader, but Nagato. Yusuke knew more than they did.

Pain asked, "You must regret sparing me, right?"

Yusuke shook his head, "I act on my principles; I don't regret my actions."

Staring at Pain's Rinnegan, Yusuke's voice grew heavier, "But if you think the three-tomoe Rinnegan can defeat me, you'll be disappointed."

Pain's eyes flashed; Yusuke's confidence angered him.

"Leave Uchiha Yusuke to me; do your jobs,"

Pain ordered the Akatsuki to destroy Konoha, while he fought Yusuke.

Kakuzu, Sasori, Kisame, and Pakura moved towards Konoha's center. Besides Yusuke and Pain, only the two Kage remained.

"Haruno, take the Daimyōs to safety. I'll handle this," Yusuke told his assistant, Haruno.

Silence fell over the arena. Other ninjas held their breath. Not only would two Kage fight, but a legendary battle was about to begin.
