Chapter 244: Chapter 44: Class in Session
Tsunade stormed out of the Hokage Tower, her face brimming with fury.
From the window of the Hokage's office, Hiruzen Sarutobi watched her figure as she marched toward Mingcha Street, nodding in satisfaction.
"There's always someone who can handle someone else," he muttered to himself. "Rinjin, that brat, can only be put in his place by Tsunade."
Just as Hiruzen was about to light his pipe for a satisfying puff, Tsunade abruptly changed direction, making a sharp turn and heading straight into the Sarutobi household near the Hokage Tower.
Moments later, her distinctive booming voice echoed through the streets.
"Lady Biwako! Teacher Hiruzen is using the crystal ball to spy again!"
Her voice was so loud that everyone on the street turned their heads, their expressions a mix of curiosity and disbelief as they stared at the Hokage Tower.
Hiruzen's face instantly turned pitch black.
This...
This girl! She used to be so innocent!
Damn it, I should never have let her hang around with that scoundrel Rinjin from such a young age!
What followed was utter chaos in the Sarutobi household.
Not long after, a woman with ash-blonde hair tied up in a bun stormed out of the house, a baby cradled in her arms, her face full of rage as she made a beeline for the Hokage Tower.
Behind her, Tsunade leaned against the doorframe, laughing so hard her shoulders shook, clearly reveling in the chaos.
"If I can't have peace, no one else will either!" she thought smugly.
Leaving the commotion behind, Tsunade soon arrived at 66 Mingcha Street—Rinjin's residence in Konoha.
Reaching into her ninja pouch, she pulled out a key and skillfully unlocked the door to Rinjin's house.
From a distance, she could already hear Rinjin's irritated and sarcastic voice echoing through the house.
"Wow~
Did all the nutrients from your brain get stolen by your cerebellum?!
What's the square of 15? I've already told you the trick!
For any two- or three-digit numbers ending in 5, their square is simply the product of the preceding digits multiplied by one more than that digit, followed by 25 at the end!
So, 15 15 = 1 2 combined with 25, which equals 225;
25 25 = 2 3 combined with 25, which equals 625;
105 105 = 10 11 combined with 25, which equals 11,025!
Mental math has to be fast! Fast, fast, fast! Got it?
Damn it, I feel like cracking open my own skull, scooping out some brain matter, and pouring it into your ears!
Fuck! Next question: What's 1000 minus 7?!"
Hearing Rinjin's exasperated rant, Tsunade couldn't help but smile knowingly. Memories of the three years she had spent with Rinjin in the Land of Grass came flooding back.
Back then, Rinjin had been like a strict father, while she had played the role of a gentle mother.
Rinjin was in charge of teaching and finding sparring partners for the three little brats, while she silently safeguarded their lives from the shadows.
"Ah, those were the days," she thought nostalgically, a faint smile gracing her lips as she quickened her pace toward Rinjin's tea room.
Sliding open the wooden door, she was greeted by a scene that made her chuckle.
Rinjin was sitting cross-legged on the floor, barefoot, holding a willow stick he must have picked up from somewhere. He was pointing at a blackboard covered in problems, spittle flying as he lectured animatedly.
In front of him, Shikaku Nara, Inoichi Yamanaka, and Choza Akimichi were kneeling obediently on the tatami mats. Their legs were tucked under their bodies, and they were hunched over low desks, diligently taking notes.
Noticing Tsunade standing quietly at the doorway, Rinjin pursed his lips, reining in his irritable expression.
Although he had already trained three disciples, including Riri, the truth was, he had no idea how to properly teach students.
It was only in the ninja world—where the harsh realities of life meant even ten-year-olds could meet untimely deaths on the battlefield—that his teaching methods were tolerated.
Anywhere else, angry parents would have long since beaten him to a pulp!
However, not only did Shikamaru's father refrain from breaking Rinjin's skull, but he even sent over three separate tuition payments and gifts of appreciation, saying:
"You're doing great. Please be even stricter!"
He couldn't bear to discipline his own son, so he relied entirely on Rinjin to play the bad guy.
Since falling into Rinjin's hands, the three brats had undergone a complete transformation.
Their spoiled attitudes were gone. Their sense of entitlement had vanished.
Instead, the three ten-year-olds had matured significantly.
After enduring the dual torment of Kirigakure and Rinjin's ruthless teaching methods, they had learned to be frugal, humble, attentive, and resilient.
Even under Rinjin's aggressive "force-feeding" style of education, they gritted their teeth and absorbed knowledge like sponges.
To put it bluntly, whether the information was useful or not, they memorized it all first. Damn it, just write it down!
What they didn't realize was that whenever Rinjin lost his temper, he would occasionally unleash an aura far surpassing that of a Jonin—sometimes even rivaling that of a Kage.
And yet, they endured it, step by step, gradually adapting.
It was clear that in the future, no matter what kind of situation they faced, these three brats would at least retain their ability to think calmly.
Watching Shikaku, Inoichi, and Choza's eyes start to resemble spiraling Rasengans, Rinjin clicked his tongue in annoyance and waved his hand dismissively.
"Take a ten-minute break. Go pee if you need to. Ten minutes, then back to class!"
Hearing this, the trio let out long sighs of relief and collapsed onto the floor without a shred of dignity.
Exhausting and terrifying!
To make an inappropriate comparison:
Attending Rinjin-sensei's class was like being locked in a cage with a raging tailed beast—it made their scalps tingle with fear!
If one day their teacher suddenly grew two tails out of nowhere, they wouldn't even be surprised.
After settling the three brats, Rinjin stepped out of the tea room, closing the door behind him. He turned to face Tsunade.
It had been years since they last met. Tsunade seemed both unchanged and yet profoundly different.
Her once youthful high ponytail was gone, replaced by a more mature low ponytail that screamed "dangerous wife."
Her appearance hadn't changed much, but the innocence and naivety in her expression were gone, replaced by a fierce and commanding aura.
It seemed the trials of war had shaped her significantly.
On the other side, Tsunade carefully examined the tall man before her.
His jet-black hair was slightly tousled, his dark eyes sharp and piercing. He wore a deep blue yukata adorned with lightning patterns, paired with an odd-looking pair of white geta sandals.
Beneath his razor-sharp brows were slightly narrowed eyes, and his face, with its chiseled features, looked as if it had been sculpted by a blade.
The longer she looked, the more Tsunade found herself entranced.
This guy... as long as he doesn't open his mouth, he's actually quite handsome~
The next second, Rinjin spoke.
"Yo~ Tsunade, nice armor you've got there! Though the color's a bit dull!"
The moment the words left his mouth, the faint trace of romance that had just surfaced in Tsunade's heart instantly evaporated. Her lips twitched as she retorted irritably, "Oh, really? Well, I happen to have a set just for you. Want to try it on?"
"No!" Rinjin shook his head with a look of innocent earnestness before adding, "I can take a beating better than you guys even without armor."
Hearing this, Tsunade rolled her eyes, her tone laced with sarcasm as she said, "Oh, of course! You're the best at taking hits. You're unbeatable, right? You, without armor, are—"
Mid-sentence, Tsunade's eyes lit up mischievously. She suddenly grabbed Rinjin's arm.
"Come on! Let me test just how tough you really are!"
