Chapter 56: Final Eight.

Like that, the fight continued, and after twenty minutes or so, only eleven people remained:

Ren Senju.

Kakashi Hatake.

Might Guy.

Ibiki Morino.

Sanata Yamanaka.

Ensui Nara.

Izuna Uchiha.

Tokuma Hyuga.

Tsume Inuzuka.

Genma Shiranui.

Aoba Yamashiro.

Ibiki and his team remained grouped together.

Seeing this, Tsume and Sanata once again decided to form an alliance, and Ensui joined them.

Now there were three teams: my team, Ibiki's team, and the alliance of Ensui, Tsume, and Sanata.

Izuna and Tokuma, seeing this, had no choice but to join either team, or they'd be at a disadvantage.

Izuna didn't want to, but Tokuma went and joined Ensui's team since they were classmates.

Izuna, now alone, decided to go with Ibiki's team—and they accepted him.

No one bothered with my team because every one of them had already tried at least once to break my wooden dome—and failed.

At this point, there were only two instructors instead of three. One had already left to inform the Hokage about my Wood Release, assuming the Hokage didn't already know. He was loyal and wanted the Hokage to decide what to do.

One of the remaining instructors, from the Yamanaka clan, was waiting for the right time to report the same to his clan. But the third instructor wasn't in any rush—he belonged to Root. Danzo already knew about me, and the instructor, being in the loop, was just pretending to witness my Wood Release for the first time.

Sensing the situation outside, I decided to come out and spectate.

I dissolved the wooden dome, which sank back into the ground, and in its place, I created a big wooden platform. I stepped onto it and called Kakashi and Guy to join me. They did, and I used my Wood Release to lift the platform, making it float. It stopped in midair, a little over five meters off the ground.

Guy was excited and cheered.

Meanwhile, Kakashi looked at the opposing teams calmly.

I stood silently at the front of the platform, staring down at the teams with a bored expression.

Seeing my attitude, they grew irritated.

Tokuma Hyuga, who had been defeated earlier by Guy in the second round, looked especially eager to attack. But Tsume and Ensui stopped him—they had already identified me as a Wood Release Kekkei Genkai user and didn't want to provoke me carelessly.

Ibiki and Izuna, on the other hand, were both clearly angry and itching to fight.

Ensui, ever the tactician, let them go. He wanted to see what I could do—this was his way of testing my abilities.

So I acted.

I subtly used my Genjutsu—**Hell's Paradise**—on Ibiki and Izuna. A gentle green gust of air brushed outward from me toward them. They didn't even notice.

Suddenly, something changed in their behavior.

Instead of attacking me, Ibiki and Izuna turned and charged toward Ensui's team.

Everyone around suspected I had done something. They noticed the green wisp of chakra, and some whispered about the strange burst of air, but no one could confirm what exactly had happened.

Ensui and his team didn't have time to react properly—they were under attack.

Ibiki rushed them first, fists swinging. He wore a gauntlet that added force to his strikes. Ensui shouted orders. Sanata began prepping the Mind-Body Switch, and Ensui himself started forming hand signs for the Shadow Possession Technique. Tokuma activated his Byakugan and dashed toward Genma and Aoba, who were charging at them from the side.

Genma specialized in speed and senbon-throwing techniques. He had a senbon in his mouth, which he launched toward Tokuma. Tokuma, with his Byakugan, easily detected and blocked it.

But then—Tokuma froze. He felt a tug in his mind.

A Genjutsu.

From aoba who was behind genma, preparing the genjutsu.

He tried to disrupt his chakra flow, but it wasn't enough.

He fell under the illusion.

Meanwhile, Tsume had transformed using her Man-Beast Technique and engaged Ibiki, countering and matching his brute attacks with her own vicious strikes.

Izuna was free to act and used Fireball Jutsu and Shuriken Jutsu, aiming them at both Tokuma and Tsume. Tsume dodged the shuriken while continuing to fight Ibiki, but Tokuma—still trapped in Genjutsu—was about to get hit by the fireball.

At that moment, Genma intervened.

He used Earth Wall Jutsu to block the fireball, shielding Tokuma just in time.

Izuna grew furious. His supposed teammate was now defending others.

But he understood. He'd gone too far. He didn't want to kill a Hyuga. So, he let it slide.

However, that decision cost Genma.

Sanata had successfully used her Mind-Body Switch on him and redirected him toward Aoba.

Meanwhile, Ensui had managed to bind Ibiki with his shadow. He tried to do the same to Izuna, but Izuna saw through it and slipped away.

Nara, seizing the moment, used his control to point a dagger at Ibiki's neck and forced him out of bounds—eliminated.

Aoba, still unaware, was attacked by the mind-controlled Genma and also got knocked out.

Now, nine remained.

Only one more needed to be eliminated to reach the final eight.

Tsume, now free, dispelled the Genjutsu from Tokuma. The group discussed who to eliminate next.

It came down to Genma or Izuna.

Izuna saw this and devised a plan.

He approached Genma, pretending to regroup.

Seeing this, Ensui's alliance attacked.

Izuna dodged them.

Genma, already injured in his right arm, was a step slower.

Izuna threw a kunai at his leg—it hit, slowing him down.

Tokuma immediately struck Genma with a Gentle Fist attack, pushing him into the **Sixty-Four Palms**. His chakra was sealed.

A final blow knocked Genma out.

Nara's team looked at Izuna with disgust.

But I, still atop the wooden platform, inwardly acknowledged Izuna's cunning.

Smart move.

Finally, I lowered the platform. When it was one meter from the ground, I dispersed it.

I landed gracefully. Kakashi followed with ease.

Guy, however—caught off guard by the sudden drop—crashed to the ground with a loud thud.

One of the instructors walked forward and announced:

"Congratulations to you all. You are the final eight."
