Natural Disaster: I Started By Hoarding Tens Of Billions Of Supplies
Chapter 496: Teasing
Standing in front of the bathroom, Yao Ran said, "A Yu, I'm heading out for a bit."
When he heard this, Long Yu opened the door with water still dripping from his hair and body, and asked, "Going out so early?"
The sight of him standing there completely naked caught Yao Ran off guard. Her eyes widened as she quickly turned around, her voice flustered. "Y-you are so shameless!"
Seeing her ears turn bright red, Long Yu chuckled. He leaned in, kissed her ear, and whispered, "It's not like you don't want to look. Go ahead if you want to. It's my honor to serve you."
As he said this, his hand guided hers to his wet chest, moving it slowly downward.
Feeling his firm muscles under her fingertips, Yao Ran shivered. Unable to bear his teasing so early in the morning, she pulled her hand away and ran off while saying in panic, "I'm leaving! Quickly put on some clothes! Don't catch a cold!"
Watching her flee with a red face, Long Yu laughed before continuing his shower in a good mood.
When Yao Ran arrived downstairs, she had calmed down. She saw Hao Ze waiting at the entrance and greeted him, "Brother Hao."
Hearing this, Hao Ze turned around, his eyes lighting up at the sight of Yao Ran. Smiling, he apologized, "I'm sorry to visit so early in the morning, Miss Yao."
Waving her hand dismissively, Yao Ran asked as she approached him, "How is your son's condition? Have you used up the medicine I gave you?"
Hao Ze's face brightened as he replied, "Thanks to you, my son's condition has improved. He can now eat some porridge and even say a few words."
"I'm glad to hear that." Noticing his hesitation, Yao Ran asked, "Should I go and check on your son?"
Hao Ze's eyes lit up with hope when he heard her words. "If it's not too much trouble, I would be very grateful if you could."
Since he agreed, Yao Ran gestured for him to lead the way. "Please, Brother Hao."
With that, Yao Ran and Hao Ze left Tower F together.
Since the distance was quite far, Yao Ran asked, "Brother Hao, can you ride a bicycle?"
Hao Ze was taken aback by the question but nodded. "Yes."
Upon hearing his answer, Yao Ran waved her hand and brought out two bicycles from her space.
Hao Ze's mouth dropped open in astonishment at the sight of two new bicycles. Not to mention new bicycles, it is rare to see bicycles nowadays.
Pointing at the bicycles, he looked at Yao Ran in disbelief. "This..."
Already mounting one of the bicycles, Yao Ran urged, "Let's go."
Seeing her pedal away, Hao Ze quickly snapped out of his daze, got on the other bicycle, and hurried after her. Riding swiftly, they arrived at Hao Ze's residence in less than an hour.
When they entered, Hao Ze's wife quietly stared at Yao Ran before retreating to a corner, curling up in a daze.
Observing this, Yao Ran thought, 'Her mental state seemed unstable. I wonder what happened to her in the past.'
Despite her curiosity, Yao Ran kept her questions to herself. Her relationship with Hao Ze was merely one of mutual benefit. There was no need to pry into their private lives.
Crouching beside Hao Ze's son, Yao Ran examined his condition.
After finishing her check, she looked at Hao Ze and said, "Your son is out of the critical stage. From now on, he needs nourishment to gradually restore his internal organs. He will be healthy again in four months with proper care and adequate nutrition."
Hearing this, Hao Ze looked at his son with a heavy heart and thought, 'It's already hard enough to find food. Where am I supposed to get medicine and nutritious food to help him recover?'
Sensing his concerns, Yao Ran explained, "The weather is getting hotter each day, so it's good to eat foods that lower body heat and soothe the stomach."
She then took out several food containers and added, "I have prepared some medicinal dishes. Your family should eat them while they are still warm."
Hao Ze's eyes reddened as he looked at the food. He turned to Yao Ran, his voice choked with gratitude. "I don't know how to repay your kindness, Miss Yao. I only have this life to offer, and I'm willing to work for you."
After saying this, he quickly knelt and bowed to Yao Ran.
Startled by his sudden gesture, Yao Ran hurriedly helped him up. "Please don't kneel. If you truly want to help me, then please help me gather information about the Long family and their influence in Nirvana."
Accepting her request, Hao Ze's eyes filled with determination. "Leave it to me, Miss Yao. I will do everything I can to find the information you need."
Unlike the upper class, information circulated more freely and accurately among the lower class of survivors. As long as someone knew where to look and who to ask, no secret could remain hidden.
This was why Yao Ran chose to ask Hao Ze instead of seeking help from Yuan Rihui or Ling Yi.
Satisfied with his answer, Yao Ran said, "I will leave this matter to you, then. For now, eat before the food gets cold."
"Thank you, Miss Yao."
While Hao Ze and his family ate, Yao Ran took out two boxes of mineral water, several kilograms of cold-resistant potatoes, three packs of cheap cigarettes, and more medicine for Hao Ze's son.
She then prepared additional raw ingredients for medicinal dishes for the boy's recovery. Carefully packaging the rice, medicinal herbs, spices, and condiments, she packed them per portion for easy cooking later.
After preparing ten portions of the medicinal dishes, she said, "I have packed the ingredients for medicinal dishes here. I also included cooking instructions inside. Just follow them when you prepare the food."
"Make sure he eats at least twice a day, or the treatment won't be effective. If you run out of supplies or the ingredients for medicinal dishes, remember to come find me at Tower F."
