Naval Gacha System: It's Time To Monopolize The Seven Seas!

Chapter 264: | 264 | War In The Horizon

Within the rough and cold waters between the sea region of Terra and Mavors, the combined-offensive fleet, Spear of Longinus, sailed through the ferocious tides towards the neighboring colonial dominion. The combined-offensive fleet was given a singular mission. And that was to pummel the armies and fleets of the colonial dominions before swiftly retreating.

Although, the United World Government would rather avoid striking first. With the colonial dominion preparing for war, a first-strike policy was a must as to ensure they would have most of the advantage during the upcoming war. At any rate, the combined-offensive fleet contained most of the United Navy's warships.

It contained three nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, five landing helicopter assault ships, ten cruisers, fifteen destroyers, and twenty-five frigates. It was the largest naval fleet ever formed under the banner of the Spear of Longinus, comprising of 58 warships.

The combined-offensive fleet, Spear of Longinus, was commanded by an admiral of the United World Government. He was amongst the seventh fleet, to which the World Government had received during its advent. The new world was, to say the least, no less than fantastical. One would have never thought to be transported into a fantasy world.

But here he was, commanding a naval fleet, fighting against the humanity of the new world.

At any rate, the operation directive given by the Citadel was simple. They must not sail over the territorial lines of the colonial dominion. The mission wasn't an invasion, but a first-strike. The distance they had when only touching the border was more than enough to strike the deepest parts of the colonial dominion.

"Sir, we are currently 250 clicks away from the coordinates given by the intelligence agencies." A radar operator reported to the commanding officer, while an intelligence officer joined in. "The naval fleets of the colonial dominion should be in the spoken coordinates. That much, the Citadel has confirmed."

Before the beginning of the operator, the intelligence agencies under the Citadel had given them vital information regarding their targets. They were given coordinates about the discovered locations, and it was of utmost priority that these coordinates must be pummeled to the ground before their withdrawal from the borders.

"What about the reconnaissance drones we have sent out? Has any of them reached the coordinates?" The admiral questioned the intelligence officer, who calmly replied. "They are inbound to the coordinates, Sir. It should take a couple of minutes to receive confirmation."

"Skirt near the borders of the colonial dominion, and maintain our distance from it." The commanding officer ordered, to which the personnel within the bridge accepted with a nod. They immediately relayed the orders of the admirals to the data link, shifting the combined-offensive fleet.

As the combined-offensive fleet, Spear of Longinus, sailed through the fringes of the border, the squadron of reconnaissance drones that had been sent out to confirm the coordinates had finally arrived to their destination. Data footage was quickly received by the drone operators within the aircraft carriers, which they transmitted to the bridge.

The intelligence officers, manning the data bank, noticed the incoming data footage. Understanding that it was the intelligence of the reconnaissance drones, they displayed it to the monitors of the bridge. The admiral gazed upon the footage given by the drones and his eyes widened in shock.

Thousands of colonial battleships were anchored nearby a fortress port that was filled to the brim with runic shielding. Hundreds upon hundreds of wyvern riders also roamed the skies. It wouldn't take long before the reconnaissance drones were discovered and their operation uncovered.

"The coordinates have been confirmed! Prepare for the first-strike! All armed-warships must be targeting the predetermined coordinates. None ordnance shall remain in our reserves!" The admiral coldly ordered as no hesitation escaped his mouth. With the coordinates verified, it was time to rain destruction upon the naval fleets of the colonial dominion.

Every personnel within the bridge were relaying orders after orders to the surrounding warships of the Spear of Longinus. Since the targets has been confirmed, they needed to complete the mission no matter what and return as the victors to the World Government.

It might be seen as a dirty strategy to strike and withdraw, but it was a strategy nonetheless. The entire forces of the colonial dominions within the Ferus Sea have been gathered to ultimately destroy the United World Government and wipe them off the face of the world. It was for this reason that the battleships numbered in thousands.

Even the minimum calculated soldiers within their armies was an estimate of 2-3 million personnel. The armies they would be fighting against were more than their current population. It was for this reason that the United World Government had decided to use every strategy in the book. Perhaps, they would even be forced to utilize much more controversial strategies.

"Admiral, the combined-offensive fleet is ready!" An intelligence officer reported to the commander of the Spear of Longinus. The admiral gazed at the data footage of the naval fleets and saw the deployment of various wyvern riders heading towards the reconnaissance drones.

"Alright, begin first-strike policy... Launch every ordnance within our arsenal!" After a couple of moments, the admiral finally ordered the start of the operation. Following his orders, one after another, missiles left the metallic confines of the capsules. They launched themselves upwards like roaring monsters, and soared through the heavens at piercing speeds.

Squadrons of joint-strike fighters along with fighter aircrafts have left the decks of multiple aircraft carriers. The military aircrafts numbered around eighty-six, which was the biggest deployment of air-assets that the United Military had undertaking since the creation of the United World Government.

The admiral calmly watched as the squadrons soared through the heavens, maintaining a tight formation. The joint-strike aircrafts were armed with heavy ordnance, while the fighter aircrafts would protect them during bombardment. Although the wyvern riders stood no chance against the military aircrafts of the United Military, it was better to be safe than sorry.

A couple of kilometers above the rough and cold seas. Squadrons of F- 35Cs flew in formation, preparing for the bombardment. Even though the joint-strike aircrafts didn't have the heavy ordnance that bombers were equipped with, their precision strike capabilities weren't to be underestimated.

*This is Dagger 2-3, confirming targets...*

*Dagger 2-3, this is eagle control, targets confirmed!*

*Copy, arming JDAMs...*

Toggling a couple of switches, the pilot watched as the thousands upon thousands of anchored battleships become visible in the eye. Such a massive force would cause a lot of trouble within the United World Government. The first-strike policy was the right choice. Otherwise, they would be fighting against a behemoth of naval fleets.

Even with their advanced military capabilities, if they were outnumbered by one hundred to one, they were merely denying their inevitable end. Anyhow, the weapons bay of the joint-strike aircraft slid open, revealing the JDAMs hidden inside.

The barrage of missiles originated from the combined-offensive fleet had riddled hundreds of holes within the runic shielding that surrounded the entirety fortress island and the navy fleets anchored nearby it. Though, it wasn't to say that the colonial dominion wasn't capable of resisting.

Lightning bolts filled the heavens, piercing through kilometers of the heavens akin to the thunderous roars of humanity. The utilization of lightning bolts was already within the expectations of the United Military. The intelligence agencies have spent the better part of its time studying the strategies that were being placed to counter them.

Fortunately, while the lightning bolts could provide near-instant hit. The aiming capabilities of the colonial dominion weren't up to par yet, so the effectiveness of the tesla towers scattered throughout the fortress were diminished. But that didn't mean these towers were useless. One wrong, foolish move would obliterate an aircraft in its entirety.

Anyhow, the heavens above the anchored naval fleets and the fortress resembled a warzone. Barrage of missiles were bombarding every part of the anchored battleships. Some even piercing through the holes of the runic shielding, impacting the battleships, and destroying them in mere moments. It was a chaotic, yet beautiful sight.

The JDAMs stacked within the weapons bay of the joint-attack aircrafts were soon released from their confines. They fell from the heavens, with their front-tip pointed downward. The fins of these ordnance were swiftly deployed as it maneuvered through the chaotic skies above the fortress.

As the ordnance of the joint-attack aircrafts were being released from their weapons bay, the squadrons of fighters soared through the skies like knives, taking care of the wyvern riders that was swarming towards them. These wyvern riders were much more faster than before, and the spells they utilize were extremely advanced.

Not only that, there were swarms of them.

The fighters disposed of them with some difficulties, though charred corpses of wyverns fell from the skies like fallen angels casted out of the pearly gates. Their riders along with them were burnt into crisped by the fighter squadrons that riddled the blue skies.

After a minute of unending battle, the joint-attack aircrafts completed their mission of dropping ordnance into the naval fleets of the colonial dominion. They immediately turned around while the fighters followed from behind. The anchored battleships scattered throughout the fortress were devastated by missiles and ordnance that had punctured through the runic shielding.

Black, ruinous smoke of destroyed battleships ascended the blue skies as a reminder of the short battle that had taken place in the heavens. The combined-offensive fleet, Spear of Longinus, was called back by the Citadel after completion the operation that it had received.

The first clash between the colonial dominions and the United World Government ended in the victory of the United Military.
