NBA: GIANT KILLING

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Giant's Game Pt. 2

Gorin!

As he stepped onto the court, everyone present showed an immediate response.

Gorin was undoubtedly the absolute core player of the school's basketball team.

As a former four-star high school recruit in the U.S., Gorin has proved that he has what it takes to lead this team.

Even in this year's NCAA, his skills could be considered top-tier.

To rub more salt on the wound, Gorin was significantly taller than Oliver.

Standing at 203 cm (6'7), Gorin played as a wingman between the small and power forward positions.

With his exceptional height and wingspan, he could dominate the paint defensively. As well as attack the rim however he liked.

Even players who were two meters tall and extremely athletic agonized over facing Gorin.

Let alone Oliver, who was only 175 cm tall and played point guard.

In a 5v5, Oliver could surely showcase his skills with confidence even if he had Gorin on the opposite team. A traditional point guard's task is to facilitate.

This mismatch was extremely unfavorable for Oliver.

At this moment, the coach of Aina University's basketball team finally arrived. When he saw the crowd gathered, h couldn't help but ask:

"What's going on here?"

The players immediately replied:

"Hello, coach! We apologize for the scene. Some guy suddenly appeared and asked for a try out. We tried to let him down easy, but he was adamant to try."

The sympathetic senior replied.

"Haha, coach, you won't believe what's happening here. This guy is hilarious!"

Klint also chimed in.

Seeing the people's mix of pitying and mocking expressions, the coach glanced at the person who claimed he wanted to join the team.

After scanning the court, he didn't spot anyone who looked like the culprit who could cause a massive scene.

Instead, all he saw was a short Asian student—even shorter than him.

This guy didn't even look 1.8 meters tall.

In his mind, the person must have been someone else.

After looking around for a while and finding no one meeting his expectations, the coach asked:

"What's the situation? Who are you talking about?"

The crowd directly pointed at Oliver and said,

"It's him, coach."

"That's why it caused such a commotion."

"Coach, do you want us to stop them?"

The Aina University coach was certainly surprised.

At first, he thought this might be an unexpected blessing.

After all, the situation sounded interesting—perhaps even an opportunity to scout some newfound talent.

However…

He never expected…

That the culprit was just a 175 cm "shorty."

Forget about the NCAA—some high school teams wouldn't even cater him.

The coach couldn't help but feel a little disappointed, there was a part of him who hoped he would stumble upon a great athlete. His team needed more players. Especially point guards. Klint was flashy, but he was all style and no substance. He needed a playmaker. He needed a leader.

Seeing the reality in front of him, the coach lost interest and casually said:

"They already started anyway. Just let them finish."

With the coach's approval, the players resumed to watch the game.

They were ready to have some fun!

In fact, some of the more "rowdy" people pulled out their phones, preparing to record and upload the footage online.

The coach, completely disinterested, sat off to the side.

Originally, he had hoped to discover a talented player worth considering.

But now…

The other players pointed their cameras at Gorin and Oliver on the court.

They had already decided on a title for the video:

"Reality Check"

Meanwhile, Oliver remained unfazed by the commotion around him.

Instead, he focused intently on Gorin.

The only thought in his mind was defense!

Nothing else mattered.

Oliver was extremely serious, but Gorin was the complete opposite—he looked playful and relaxed.

Staring at the "shorty" in front of him, he felt absolutely no pressure.

After a brief probe, Gorin executed a crossover.

At his height, even the most basic move looked more intimidating.

His movement was completely different from Oliver's.

The sheer range of motion forced Oliver to put everything into his defense.

Using all of his strength, Oliver attempted to stop Gorin's advance.

Oliver's valiant efforts successfully stalled Gorin's attack.

Gorin was slightly surprised but showed no emotion.

Because he hadn't even started playing seriously.

With a burst of strength, Gorin spun around, used his other arm to shield Oliver, and jumped really high.

A poster dunk!

"SLAM!!!"

As the ball went through, the crowd erupted in cheers!!!

Oliver could only offer an awkward, helpless smile.

The mismatch was just a bit overwhelming. .

Height, speed, explosiveness—Oliver was completely outmatched.

But since he was already here, he had no choice but to persist.

No, he needed to persist. This was his second chance. He will stop this guy even if he would get bruises all over.

Gorin continued attacking.

Oliver kept defending seriously.

But Gorin was unfazed and even started to talk some trash.

"Pay attention, kid."

Then, after another drive and contact, he dunked on Oliver again!

Oliver had no way to stop him.

At this point…

Oliver began to feel a bit helpless.

Against a player of this size, he was at a complete mismatch.

'Is this really all I've got?'

If Gorin didn't bring the ball down, Oliver had no chance of stealing it.

But even so, Oliver refused to give up.

'No! I won't turn my back again. There must be a way!'

He continued defending with everything he had.

That was his attitude.

Meanwhile, the coach, seeing Oliver's grit, couldn't help but feel a bit of respect for the kid.

The gap was overwhelming. However, Oliver did not give up.

'The kid's got guts. If only he was a bit taller.'

Gorin was dominating Oliver like a one-sided slaughter.

It was like an adult bullying a child.

If this was a real game, the losing team would have already thrown the white flag. It was getting a bit too difficult to watch.

Thiis brutal display made everyone a bit worried about Oliver.

As the game continued, more and more spectators gathered.

After hearing what was happening, they had mixed reactions. Some found it funny, some felt pity, some found it ridiculous:

"This is bullying."

"Haha, this is hilarious!"

"Look at this fool! Some people just don't know their limits."

"He actually thought he'd have a chance? "

"What's he thinking?! Does he think he's Isaiah Thomas?"

"Even Isaiah Thomas wasn't that short. "

"Someone should stop them. ."

The crowd kept growing.

Everyone came to witness this one-sided massacre.

"BAM!!!"

Gorin made another dunk, and Oliver was now on the floor.

However…

Instead of being discouraged, the crowd saw the flames in Oliver's eyes.

Just as Gorin started to attempt to shoot another shot…

Oliver suddenly managed to get a stop!

Even though it involved some luck…

The crowd was slightly surprised.

But they figured it didn't matter—Oliver was just prolonging his agony.

However, at that moment, a strange voice suddenly echoed in Oliver's mind…

"System Activated."

'You have successfully bound the system: The Strongest Point Guard Template."

"Assimilation Gift: Experience Card: Peak Allen Iverson Template"

After the initial surprise, a grin slowly started to form on Oliver's mouth.

'Let the giant killing begin."
