Chapter 713: A Rather Surprising Equal
Frazer Coastrom, the chosen of Asmareth–the god of false hopes. He was no child nor a bumbling adventurer like Felix and the others for the harsh desert had shaped him into a monster, a monster with absolute control of all elements. And as the people retreated from him and the djinn sisters, he let those very elements burn through his warrior fists.
At a glance the water circling his left hand reminded Riyanzah of her own powers, and on the other the fiery flames–although a different color was just as much of a reminder to the other sister. The man who fought with his fists was challenging them with the very elements that they themselves commanded. Now if he knew that was the case–which the girls were still uncertain of–could either mark him as a challenge or another man too sure of his abilities.
Separating from each other, the sisters walked in an arc around the man. Their eyes remained on him at all times, and the way they moved with uniform motion and equal distance from the front arc or the back, kept Frazer's eyes sharp as he could only respond to one of them at a time.
"Quite the show, you're put on for everyone here~" Seraphim chuckled, her body bursting into clear blue flames.
"Too bad it'll be shortlived~" Added her sister as a spring of water erupted from the desert soil and began spiraling around her body.
"That's where you're wrong," to the surprise of the girls, Frazer closed his eyes and split into two identical clones. Opening their eyes together, the clones each turned to one of the girls with no way of them knowing which one was the real hero. But what they did notice at once, was the fact that the one facing Seraphim had one hand layered with water and the other with ice, and as for the one facing Riyanzah, he had flames in one hand and a torrent of wind in the other.
"Come on then! I don't wanna waste my time on you!" The clones said in unison, and being far too desperate to face Raven, they charged at the girls with their hands closing in for a clap with the girls being in the middle.
A flash of red and blue erupted from Frazer's hand and lost in its bloom, the girls took the hit straight on themselves. Even so, emerging from the smoke, the sisters reached for the clone's throat with their razor sharp claws ready to sever his head from his neck.
"AGHH!" Their screams, however, quickly melted away when the man disappeared back to where he'd been standing before charging at them.
"Stay back!" Another voice echoed in the background as a shield of clear blue gel encased the girls as well as the hero. The djinns didn't know it yet, but one of Frazer's girls had separated them from the rest of the citizens as they alongside some of the holy order was trying to get far too close.
"Let's end this Sera!"
"You don't have to tell me!"
Ignoring all other distractions, the girls turned to mist and in a spiralling mist of clouds got closer to the now fused body of the hero. Emerging right in front of him, the duo conjured blades of ice and fire and tried to stab him. However, unable to match his speed, the girls only drew a drop of his blood before grazing each other's hips.
"EUGHH! WATCH IT YOU WHORE!"
"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!"
"I suppose this end's it…" Before the girls even realized what was happening, Frazer appeared right next to them. Grabbing them by their hair, he bumped their head so hard that everyone who watched it happened, could feel their teeth rattling from the strike.
The sisters who thrived at sea, were of no match to him. Thus, in just a matter of few seconds their bodies hit the ground with their eyes hollow and their mind already deep asleep. Looming above their bodies, Frazer scrunched his nose and kicked their bellies from the side. The sisters coughed and woke up immediately but with their minds still rattled they couldn't make any sense of what was happening.
"Fucking disgrace and to think these are his allies." Lifting his feet, the man was about to plant it on their faces, but that's when the jelly-like shield gave in to one his girls screamed from behind a gathering of soldiers..
"THAT'S ENOUGH! LET THEM GO!"
"SHUT UP, JOSARE!" He screamed, turning around to look at her.
But hiding behind others intentionally, the slime girl kept herself from getting into immediate trouble.
"Fucking moron…" The hero breathed and slowly turned his head back, only to realize that the sisters were gone and in her place a dark elf stood before him. "Who are you?"
"I'm the person that's gonna beat you to death," Aria's words lingered for a few quiet seconds, but the moment Frazer's expression began to turn a bit more serious, the elf wasted no time and punched him in the face with her dragon scaled gloves.
The man's body tried to jerk away and fall, but using her other hand, Aria kept him from getting away. Pulling him back towards her before he could even recover from the first strike, she drew her hand all the way back and with a dousing of necrotic power, she punched him in the face with a disabling curse.
As the necrotic aura rippled through his muscle fibres, Frazen's body tensed up completely and even his eyes refused to move thanks to a speck of the nightlord's magic. Only a brief groan was heard through his lips before the man went quiet, but that didn't stop Aria from pinning him to the ground and with his throat squeezed between her fingers, she began punching his face into the desert sand. Each strike let out waves through the sand and the hole that his head laid in was slowly getting pooled with blood.
Despite breaking his nose and crippling him from heat to two, the elf with her eyelid unflinching in anger, kept driving her sharp knuckles against his face until the very skin from his skull began to peel out like a bruised fruit from all sides.
It was then that she felt it, the slimy hand of something resting on her shoulders. Looking up with her teeth bare and his fist ready to greet that person, Aria saw a slime monster girl with humanoid features. Her body was a translucent, light shade of blue and numerous orbs of yellow light were contained with her flesh. A pair of protruding horns held the same, although at a glance they seemed more like ears but glancing down a regular pair of ears scrubbed those doubts.
"You that rotten fuck's girlfriend or something?" Pulling herself away from the bleeding man, Aria took a step back and looked behind her. Gesturing for the holy order to start moving again, she quickly looked back at the girl with an order. "Take him with you before I beat him to death, and you better hope that we don't ever meet again."
As the army began to pass, the girl twice the size of Aria nodded hesitantly at her. Watching her closely as she helped her man, the elf couldn't help but wonder why such a fine looking woman with the curves rivalling a goddess was with Frazer. Before she could come up with an explanation, however, a handful of other girls came rushing towards the near dead man, each a monster girl with distinct features and nothing like each other.
'I'll keep watch on these guys, you guys keep moving.' Sending that message to Raven through her mental link, Aria kept an eye on the girls with her hands folded under her breastplate.
The first to draw in her curiosity beside the slime girl was a monster girl much like Mino, but instead of a minotaur she resembled a bear. Size, the weight on her body but evenly distributed; almost making Aria feel a bit jealous, especially since she too was wearing a pair of decent looking gauntlets.
"You know this isn't over right?" Barked another girl from Frazer's harem, a humanoid as well but somehow floating above the ground with her skin ever so often giving out sparks of flames.
"Shut up, Gena. We have more important things to do right now!" Smacking her on the back of the skull was a pink dryad covered in foliage for clothes. A bush of petals covered everything on her face with the exception of her mouth, and a deceptive spider hump seemed to protrude from her back, but in reality was nothing more than a facade, a facade meant to scare off predators despite having human legs under that bump.
As the monster girls passed by the group, Aria felt a strange pressure from her back. Turning around, she found Mino, Arche and Maine, all three of them staring at the girls for as monsters these women were nothing by rivals trying to claim their people, land, or their clan. Hissing at Kumi, the bear girl Maine's face had contorted with anger, for the gauntlets that the girl was wearing were made from Lamian scales.
Arche on the other hand, just glared at the dryad pretending to be an arachne. Unlike the other two, she was simply disappointed. Mino felt a mix of what the other two felt, but her frustration stemmed from something else entirely.
'That slime girl and bear…their ass and tits might be the same size or even bigger than me.' Needless to say, a rivalry was born that day. And with the false hero being so stubborn, this probably won't be the last time they would see each other, especially since a part of their group was already planning to join the chosen of Asmareth and backstab their general and everyone else.
