Chapter 40: Continue the Grind
Yu Mei was sitting in the living room with his parents. She came back to introduce her boyfriend to his family, but she did not expect her boyfriend to have that kind side of him. This was the first time she saw him acting like that.
"Hah… You are an adult, you decide it by yourself. As a parent, we can only support you, giving you a hand when you need us, and a shoulder for you to lean on," Yu Wen was the first one to speak.
The dinner was over, Tao Qiao had gone back with her car while Meimei stayed with her parents.
"However, if you ask me… No, since you introduce him to us, that means you are taking this relationship seriously, even to marriage. If you want to ask us about your boyfriend, I will say no. Leave him, he is not good for you," Yu Wen had a solemn expression as he spoke to his daughter.
"Again, the decision is in your hands. You are an adult now, you will be the one who makes the decision for yourself…" Yu Wen decided to stop midway. Bad words would come out of his mouth if he continued, "We dislike your boyfriend. That's my opinion of him."
After saying that, Yu Wen spoke no more. He supported his daughter's decision since his daughter told him that the man treated her well. The man cherished her daughter, he did nothing bad to her so far.
However, after what happened just now. He was afraid that the man was hiding it well. The side the man did not want to show to his daughter. Yu Wen was afraid that his daughter would suffer if she married Tao Qiao.
Auntie Jun looked at her daughter with a concerned expression, "Hon, did you call Shen a cripple behind him?" She was more concerned about this. She believed that her daughter would not do that. But what Tao Qiao did before causing her to doubt her own daughter.
That was Shen's dark past, the lowest point in his life she had seen so far. The accident changed Shen so much that the sunny and cheerful boy became a depressed and gloomy boy. It took him months to overcome that.
If her daughter really called Shen a cripple, that was so cruel to Shen.
"Of course not, Mom! Shen is like my little brother, how can I do that to him!?" Yu Mei subconsciously raised her voice as she stood up from the couch.
"I also don't know that Tao Qiao was like that. He has always been good to me all this time. I don't know what got into him tonight," Yu Mei was helpless. Tonight was supposed to be a happy occasion for her and her family. Yet her boyfriend skilfully destroyed the atmosphere.
At this moment, the door opened, and a rush of steps entered the living room, "I told you, that man is a Jerk! You never listen to me now you see his jerk side! Good luck living with a jerk!" Yu Shuren burst out as he talked back at his big sister angrily.
"Yu Shuren! Speak properly! Don't you dare to talk like that to your sister!" Yu Wen rebuked his son, "What about Shen? Is he okay?" Uncle Wen was quite concerned as well.
"Brother Shen is not that weak. He did not care about Tao Qiao, but he is more concerned about you. He thought you disliked him, Big Sis. Visit him if you have time or we may never see him visit our house again," After saying that, Yu Shuren went upstairs to his room.

Shen was truly concerned about Sister Meimei. The lingering thoughts of her disliked him kept haunting him. He did not want to lose them or their relationship became estranged with them. However, if she truly disliked him, he was not going to meet them again. It was not happiness if he was happy on top of someone's discomfort.
He rubbed his forehead in front of the mirror and said to himself, "It's useless to think it by yourself, Shen. You should talk with Sister Meimei instead…"
"Nah, if she truly does not like me, the talk only makes things more awkward between us," Shen shook his head and walked out. He drank a glass of water before he decided to enter the game. He should stay dehydrated.
Shen opened his eyes, he was inside the house, on the same bed. He opened the window status.

The debuff disappeared, his stamina came back full, and his hunger remained at eighty. He thought the debuff and the stamina would not recover until he logged in and took the rest.
"It seems that logging out at a certain place could recover the stamina and neutralize the debuff as well," Shen muttered as his eyes fell on his stamina. He now had 160 SP, it should be easy for Shen to finish three-quarters of the laps without depleting the stamina.
"I have the berries for two rounds, let's continue the grind," Shen got off the bed and went outside. It was pitch dark outside, if not for the bright moon. He might not be able to see anything.
He checked the time, it was seven-thirty in the evening. Meaning fours had passed since he logged out, "I can't wait until the morning…"
Without a doubt that the village became a lot scarier in the night. Outside the village should be even scarier than inside. But since this was his second night, it was less scary.
"Nah, I will just run and follow the fence! I am not going to wander outside!" Shen stepped out of the house and walked toward the entrance. The training stone was still there.
He picked the stone onto his back and started another round of training. This was his only chance to keep his Legendary Class. He was not going to give up even though it exhausted him. He was not going to give up even though working out inside the game was not fun at all.
