Chapter 267: Killing Spree (2)
Ye Yang peered through the gaps in the shields, his gaze sweeping across the city walls.
Thousands of enemy troops lurked there, bows drawn, aiming for them. As one barrage of arrows ended, Leader Hund, the burly armoured man, bellowed, "Fire!"
Suddenly, heavy arrows, far larger and sturdier than those of the Crimson Kingdom, whizzed from the sides of the Titan Pantheon's formation, tearing through the enemy ranks on the walls. Many screams followed as the projectiles found their marks.
Leader Hund then turned to Ye Yang; his voice gruff. "Leader Yang, now it's your turn." Without another word, he roared, "Charge!"
Ye Yang, still somewhat disoriented by the abrupt change in his situation, found himself instinctively surging forward with the Titan troops.
They rushed towards the city gates, which were now being assaulted by Leader Hund himself. With a thunderous "Boom!" the massive doors splintered inwards, and the Titan Pantheon troops poured into the city.
The streets immediately became a chaotic scene of massacre. Ye Yang, accustomed to precise, deadly strikes, found himself largely dodging attacks while systematically eliminating any enemy soldier who dared to cross his path.
"What are you doing, Leader Yang!" Leader Hund's voice boomed over the din of battle, pulling Ye Yang's attention away from the general slaughter.
"We'll take care of them! You go and free your father and find your mother! Kill those bastards!"
The words hit Ye Yang like a physical blow. "My mother captured? My father... also held captive?" A wave of unfamiliar unease washed over him, a primal spark of anger igniting deep within.
The mention of his parents, a connection he hadn't consciously acknowledged until now, fuelled a newfound urgency.
His gaze snapped to the towering castle pagoda in the distance. Without hesitation, he began to sprint towards it, a whirlwind of death as his sword became a blur, cutting down every enemy in his path with ruthless efficiency.
The Titan Pantheon soldiers continued their fierce engagement with the Crimson Kingdom's forces, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake, but Ye Yang's focus was now singular: the castle, and the parents he now realized he had to save.
His exhaustion seemed to fade, replaced by a burning resolve. This wasn't just another shard event; this was personal.
As Ye Yang's sword cut through enemies like butter, a thought flashed through his mind.
"I'm in this shard world, or more precisely, a world of the past, and I have no connection to this world, so why...?" His mind reeled with the sudden, inexplicable connections he felt, especially concerning these 'parents.'
He wondered if the parents in this world were the same as his actual parents. "System! Is this your doing?" he demanded, but received no answer.
His frustration and worries flared up; he desperately wanted to know about these so-called parents, but his emotions were swiftly subdued by the system. Still, his killing spree only intensified as he got closer to the castle pagoda.
"A pest has slipped inside!"
A voice boomed from straight ahead. A man wielding heavy, dark golden armour warned Ye Yang against taking another step. But Ye Yang didn't stop.
He lunged forward, his sword aiming for man's neck. The armoured man met him with a heavy, arcing swing, but Ye Yang was too fast, ducking under the blow. He countered with a quick thrust, aiming for a chink in the armour, forcing the man to stagger back.
The armoured warrior roared, bringing his massive gauntleted fist down, but Ye Yang sidestepped, his blade dancing, finding openings with impossible speed.
With a final, precise movement, Ye Yang's sword spun, disarming the man with a clang of falling metal.
Before the armoured man could react, Ye Yang had his sword at his throat, the cold steel pressing against his skin.
"Where is the man and woman you have captured?" Ye Yang's voice was low and dangerous.
Even in the face of death, the man chuckled, a mocking sound. "We have captured countless people, how would I know who you're talking about?"
Ye Yang clenched his fist, a tremor of anger running through him. "Where is Yu Mei and Ye Xuan?" He hoped, desperately, that these parents weren't the same as his real ones.
But the man chuckled again, a cruel, sneering sound. "Huh? You mean that cripple and his busty wife... Hahah, she must be sucking the clan head's dragon at this moment while her cuck husband must be watching from the sides like a dog."
"Slit!"
With a sickening sound, Ye Yang slit the man's throat, his control snapping.
The insult, the blatant disrespect, the sheer vulgarity about his supposed parents, even if they weren't his real parents, fuelled a primal rage.
He attacked with renewed ferocity, tearing through any remaining resistance until he burst into the main building.
Inside, two men stood waiting, their faces contorted with anger. They glared at Ye Yang. "This is where you'll stop."
The two men charged simultaneously, their movements far more coordinated and precise than any of the soldiers Ye Yang had faced thus far.
The first, a lean, swift warrior wielding twin daggers, feinted left while the second, a hulking brute with a massive Warhammer, lunged right.
Ye Yang found himself immediately on the defensive, the sheer force of their combined assault pushing him back.
He parried the daggers, the metallic clink echoing in the stone chamber, then had to pivot sharply to avoid the hammer that would have crushed him.
"You're fast, pest!" the brute grunted, his hammer whistling through the air as he brought it down in a powerful arc.
Ye Yang rolled, narrowly escaping the blow that shattered the flagstones where he'd stood. He tried to counter-attack the dagger-wielder, but the man was surprisingly agile, weaving away from Ye Yang's blade.
This wasn't a simple fight; these were experienced opponents, working in tandem. He felt a dull ache in his arm as a dagger grazed him, a minor cut but a sign of his disadvantage. His previous battles, the exhaustion, they were catching up to him. He was one man against two skilled, fresh fighters.
The hammer slammed down again, forcing Ye Yang to leap back. The dagger-wielder pressed his advantage, a flurry of rapid stabs forcing Ye Yang to block frantically.
