Number One Dungeon Supplier

Chapter 2020: Saw Cutters

At first glance, the people who went into the unsealed portion of the dungeon were surprised by the surroundings. They had never seen such designs in their lives and when their King ordered them to bring back all the metal pieces, they had no idea where to start.

But the Lead Prospector sighed and decided to try his best to aid the team on how to remove all this metal from this dungeon area.

Eventually, they managed to take out the first piece of large metal through enhancing the cutter tools with magic and they showed it to the Majesty if it was acceptable. Because of its size and weight, the miners requested the aid of the mages to levitate the part out of the dungeon.

"Good, looks like a decent piece of metal," Jin said as he asked them to drop the piece right in front of him. A loud thud sound and dust from the ground flew all over the place. Jin then took out Mr Hammer and started to perform improvised smithing on the first piece.

It did not take long for everyone to hear a pattern of hammering and the metal somehow started to change size and shape. Eventually, it came out as a tool that no miners had seen before.

"This is a portable saw cutter, well an improvised one... I think you need to insert a magic crystal for it to work." Jin said as he had already asked one from Questo. He inserted the blue magic crystal into a hole designated to act as a battery and the saw cutter turned alive.

"Use this to cut the metal, it will be easier," Jin said as he personally went into the portal and into the dungeon area. The miners saw that the King was holding onto a weird tool but the moment Jin used it on the metal, their eyes enlarged the moment they saw sparks flying around.

Even the prospectors were shocked by the tool and even more shocked when they saw the cut it made against the metal. Compared to them slogging like crazy trying to get the metal piece, this would undoubtedly reduce the time needed to get the metal piece.

"See, it's that simple right?" Jin said as he gave the tool to the miner right beside him. Soon, the miner imitated how Jin had done it and he was surprised by how easy it was. That was when Jin shouted at them the following.

"You want such tools for easier mining? Maybe even for your DAILY mining purposes? Get every fucking single metal piece out here! Even a small bit counts!" Jin exclaimed and the miners cheered simultaneously, seeing how it could make work easier, they did as they were told.

For now, they were lacking the tools so they tried to speed things up by making manual cuts. This would make it easier for the literally magical portable saw cutter to do its job. Soon, the next metal sheet was ready and Jin continued to make such tools for them. The only thing that was regrettable was that the improvised smithing took so much material.

But in exchange for such excess material, he was still able to create the thing he wanted without having the exact list of materials that were needed to create such tools. It was as if the excess material were exchanged for such an item. However, there was a drawback for it. The durability was not as desired and from what Jin had seen, it could be due to his Improvised Smithing rank.

By the time they finished clearing all the metal pieces within the arena, the very first metal cutter had its durability reduced to half. Of course, it was because he had already made more cutters. The reason for this was that he wanted to make not just tools but also items that would be suitable for the increased production of the economy.

Obviously, it would be hard work for Jin mainly because he does not have sufficient materials to make machines that work for him and only tools. The moment he is able to have sufficient amounts of material to convert all that excess metal into machines, that is where the self made industrial revolution might be able to come in.

However, Jin could also see a fatal flaw in this.

The improvement of the economy is solely based on Jin alone no matter how one views it. If he was killed or preoccupied, it means that the self contained economy bubble would be destroyed almost instantly overnight. So, whatever Jin does must be for not just the future, but also replicable for the future of Ress to take over as well.

Yet, it was honestly not in his mind mainly because of one thing. The destruction of this world would definitely occur in some way or another. No matter how much Jin tried to aid this kingdom, humans could undo such progress easily which he believed it had happened after the era of the Moon King. Nothing was forevermore, except the deeds and actions of heroic individuals.

So, he did not think too much about it and decided to take one step at a time. All this metal that he had was for one thing and one thing only.

Water.

They do not realise it yet but Jin noticed something. Ress might have a huge river running through its cities and that river passed through borders. With the magical barricade that Jin had made, the source of water had been cut off. And thus, the only way to get water is to either open the magical barricade once more and let water flow through or find an alternative source.

According to Jin's senses, after he surveyed the land, there was no water source nearby at all, not even deep underground. So the only way to get water is through dungeon portals as pathetic as that sounds. That also means he needed some way to keep all the water since there is no way he can feed the thousands of citizens with water.

So, he was going to do something realistic but at the same time magical based as well. Jin would like to create an Atmospheric Water Crystal Absorber Unit similar to how Peppers send magic into crystals. But instead of actively sending magic into the crystal, the crystal takes the 'initiative' to collect the water molecules into its crystal.

As for the metal, he needed to create either water towers or subterranean storage tanks to keep the water safe. The caveat for such an Atmospheric Water Crystal Absorber Unit was that the crystal needed to be of good quality. But he believed that that could be solved if they entered a crystal based environment dungeon portal.

Collect all those crystals, and he can use Improvised Smithing to create a high quality Crystal.

If it is not enough, continue to perform improvised smithing until the quality reaches Rank SSS if there was such a rank. This is to ensure that if they ever enter a water rich dungeon portal, they could get as much water as they could.

"Ah, and I should get them to clear the river when it is stale right now... it's smelly." Jin said to himself as a side thought. But now that the city could still survive with the remaining wells, he should start thinking how to increase the food production so that they do not rely on just monster meat as well.

All he knew was that there were some people who panicked buying items and even got into debt because of it. But for the moment, citizens were sending rumours that Ress was capable of standing on its own with its borders closed. Gara did aid with that gossip mongering and people started to have faith in Jin.

Apparently, the dungeon portals did not stop as soon as Portal 1 closed, Portal 4 came up almost instantaneously, and it was a forest related environment with Halfing Orcs in it. They were like mini orcs and thus, lower rank than the normal orcs. However, what Jin had learned from Ress was that Orcs in this world could be eaten.

They tasted like pigs and hence, they were considered a delicacy if adventurers were able to get their hands on it.

However, most of the time, the preparation for these orc's meat was tremendously difficult because of the weight. So, they took only the 'nicer' fatty portions of the orc when essentially, they could eat almost every part of it.

Jin was a little adverse since he could not imagine eating his own Orcs but at that point of time, he did not care that much because he was already tired from smithing as well as learning as much as he could about the city from the archives and Topharm. Also, although Questo promised to send his report to Jin, he had already sent the past few weeks of personal reports to Jin for his purview.

So, even when he was asleep, the portals were running in the night and those miners who did not have a chance to work, were working right now. These Dungeon Portals are now the lifeline of Ress and they are not stopping until they excavate everything for the Kingdom's use.
