Once a mobster, now Masachika Kuze

Chapter 97: What technique was that?

A man of imposing and refined presence approached slowly, his hands tucked into his pockets, as if he were in no hurry. His black hair was tied in a casual bun, with a few loose strands falling over his face, framing a relaxed and perceptive expression. His voice, laden with a nonchalant tone, cut through the air:

"Wow... Your strength is remarkable. I'm starting to wonder if you're really a non-sorcerer... or if you have some technique to hide your cursed energy."

He stopped beside the white-haired man, observing the havoc Ryan had wreaked by throwing the enemy as if he were a rag doll. His sharp eyes analyzed everything with a mixture of curiosity and amusement.

"But... If that were the case, you'd probably be known already, don't you think... Satoru?"

The man's dark, traditionally cut suit reinforced his aura of sophistication and mystery. The loose trousers gave a distinctive touch to the look, while the earrings in his ears added a rebellious air to his already striking presence. His slanted smile, laden with secrets, made his figure even more intriguing.

Beside him, the other presence was impossible to ignore. The young man with white hair radiated a magnetic, almost arrogant confidence. His bristly strands seemed to capture the light in a peculiar way, giving him a luminous and imposing aura.

"Yeah... He just made a heck of a mess, that's for sure."

Satoru adjusted his round-lensed sunglasses, concealing his eyes, but not the provocative smile that plastered his face.

"Hey, are you after the Star Plasma Vessel?" he asked in a casual tone, as if he were commenting on the weather.

His dark uniform, well-fitted to his body, highlighted his relaxed posture. With his hands still buried in his pockets, he conveyed the image of someone who dominated any environment effortlessly.

Ryan, in turn, adjusted his shirt and muttered to himself:

"Satoru?"

Then, he raised his gaze and, imitating the other's nonchalant tone, asked:

"Before answering... Are you the famous Satoru Gojo?"

The sorcerer opened a presumptuous smile and pointed to himself naturally.

"The one and only! In flesh and blood."

Ryan sighed, wiping his hands with an almost theatrical disinterest.

"Oh... Okay. Then I guess I can go back to doing what I was doing before solving this problem."

Gojo raised his eyebrows and looked at his companion beside him.

"Hey, Geto... When you say I'm too full of myself, is that how I act?"

Geto ran his hand over his forehead, responding with pure disdain:

"Yes. That's exactly how I feel."

Before the conversation continued into more provocations, Riko, still trying to understand the situation, burst out:

"Wait a minute! I don't understand anything! Who are you all?!"

Ryan, with no intention of lingering there, simply raised his hand in a dismissive wave.

"I've done my part... I'm out of here."

But before he could take more than three steps, Gojo's voice called him with an amused tone:

"Hey, wait a minute there."

Ryan stopped, casting a glance over his shoulder. His sarcastic tone came naturally:

"What is it, man? If it's about the corpse, don't even bother complaining. It didn't even hit you, so there's no reason to whine."

Gojo laughed and pointed at him.

"You can't just leave like that, without explaining yourself. And besides, we don't even know your name. Do you think this is a joke, buddy?"

Kuroi, who until then had been watching the scene cautiously, turned to Riko, explaining:

"These two are sorcerers from Jujutsu High. I already expected them to be responsible for your escort, Miss Riko."

His gaze, however, stopped at Ryan with a suspicious air.

"But... I've never seen this boy before."

Ryan sighed, massaging his temples.

"Great... The old man didn't explain properly how to act in these situations..."

He rolled his eyes and muttered to himself before finally answering:

"Ugh... I can't believe I have to explain everything to you guys."

Without paying much attention to the tense atmosphere, he pulled out his cell phone and started typing, as if that were the least of his problems.

Riko, in turn, observed Ryan's nonchalant posture and, even feeling the tension between him and the sorcerers, murmured to herself:

"You know... He kind of saved my life, so I guess I should thank him."

The environment fell silent for a moment, while the sorcerers watched Ryan with a mixture of interest and caution.

"Yeah, he really saved us by saving you... But the blame for us being late is all on Gojo." Geto sighed, putting his hands in his pockets with an air of boredom.

Gojo frowned and cast a sidelong glance at him.

"Hey! You said you'd give me plenty of time to buy a soda, so don't come throwing this at me."

While the two argued between themselves, Ryan took advantage of the distraction and quickly typed a message to Yuno on his cell phone.

"Gooood afternoon, my cute Yandere! Could help me, please?"

Luckily, the answer came almost immediately.

"Having problems?"

Without wasting time, Ryan continued typing, keeping his face neutral so as not to attract attention.

"More or less, I just want to get out of a boring conversation :/"

The answer came so quickly that he was sure Yuno was having fun with it.

"Then I'll leave you there. :P"

Ryan's eyebrow twitched, and he clenched his fist slightly, containing his irritation. But, as a last resort, he sent a photo of the place, betting that Yuno was just being annoying on purpose.

Before he could insist, Riko turned to him, curious.

"Hey, can you at least tell me your name?"

Ryan smiled wryly and tilted his head slightly.

"Oh? My name?"

Before he could answer, a figure appeared beside him suddenly.

"What's going on?" Yuno appeared, looking around with an expression of mild disinterest.

Geto raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms.

"Teleportation technique?"

Gojo, in turn, adjusted his glasses and analyzed the girl with a more attentive look.

"That's weird... Why don't I feel any cursed energy?"

Ryan kept his smile as he casually placed his hand on Yuno's shoulder.

"We'll probably run into each other again... So we can have this chat some other time."

Then, he leaned slightly and murmured in Yuno ear:

"Get us out of here before this gets any more boring."

Yuno grumbled, crossing her arms with an irritated look.

"Why do I still bother taking you everywhere as if I were your personal driver?"

As she spoke, Gojo pointed a finger at her, his tone curious and full of interest.

"Hey, you in pink. What technique was that?"

Ryan sighed and, without changing his expression, whispered again to Yuno:

"Seriously, don't answer. Just ditch."

Yuno let out a slight growl, crossing her arms impatiently.

"Your luck I didn't like his face..."

In the next instant, the scenery around them changed abruptly. They were now in front of Yuno's house.

"Now the payment," she said, casting an inquisitive look. "What was going on?"

Ryan looked around, taking a deep breath before replying with a half-smile.

"I didn't know you were so curious..."

Yuno clicked her tongue, impatient.

"It's the least you can do after bothering me just to take you from one side to the other, idiot."

Ryan sighed, already feeling the headache that came from dealing with her.

"Damn... The downside of this is that now I have to put up with Yuno..." he thought, resigned.

But, to his relief, a sweet and familiar voice sounded behind him.

"Ryan! What are you doing here?"

He turned automatically, a gentle smile appearing on his face.

"Rika! I almost forgot youβ€”"

Before he could finish, Rika ran to him and threw herself into a tight hug.

"Miii~! It hasn't been long, but I already missed you so much!" her slurred voice betrayed something... different.

Ryan raised an eyebrow as he smelled an unmistakable scent.

"Rika... Have you been drinking?"

She sobbed softly before answering.

"Miii~ I kinda drank a little, you know... Living in loops for so long sucks, so I started using alcohol to pass the time. Hic~"

Ryan held back a laugh as he saw her hiccup in an adorably clumsy way. With an amused sigh, he ran his hand through her hair.

Yuno, watching the scene, threw a lost look into the air before muttering:

"It's even weird to say this... Rika has such an... innocent look, and I was dumb enough to buy her a drink."

Ryan raised an eyebrow, a sarcastic smile forming.

"Look who's being a good sister..."

Yuno's eyes narrowed immediately.

"I don't think I'll ever help you with my teleport again." she grumbled, frustrated.

"Calm down, crazy. I'm just kidding..." Ryan replied, his eyes tired from already expecting that reaction.

Meanwhile, Rika remained hugged to him, swaying slightly, clearly affected by the alcohol. But then, Ryan realized the time.

"Crap! I gotta go!"

Rika pouted, holding him tighter.

"What? But I haven't even taken advantage of you!" she protested, her voice whiny.

Yuno, impatient, pointed at him with irritation in her voice.

"I'm not taking you anywhere!"

Ryan sighed, already expecting that.

"Alright, alright. Arona will tell you later, what do you think?"

Yuno looked away, crossing her arms as she thought.

Rika smiled at her and, with an even cuter tone, pleaded:

"Forgive him pleeease... hic~"

Yuno sighed heavily, defeated.

"Fine..." she replied reluctantly.

Ryan smiled, running his fingers through Rika's hair.

"Your cuteness is a weapon of war..."

Then, he looked up, reflecting.

"Time to finish the encounter with the Russian Girl!"
